Thread: Please change the medium Naboo back !!!!!
Yet again, i'll throw the medium house issue (I want it reverted to the old footprint, not any new fangled one, or my city gets screwed), on my wish list.
I have heard nothing on this issue even though I've reported it several times.
The biggest problem is that people *were* complaining about it. They didn't decide one day to change the footprint just to make Naboo Politicians mad. If you're looking for someone to blame, blame the leet kiddies that feel the need to take advantage of anything they can in order to "pwn" others. That's more than likely the biggest reason the footprint was changed, that and the fact that walls are not something the devs want to put into the game.
I will add it to our issues list, but I really don't think we're going to see a change on this. I *think* this is what the footprint was intended to be from the start. It is much more in line for the size of the house (compare with a medium Tatooine house) and now has a "free space" around it comparable to other house deeds. The exception to this is the medium Generic/Corellia houses. The biggest issue with them increasing that footprint, though, is that while it is visually slightly larger than a small it doesn't even come close to the Naboo and Tatooine houses as far as actual space. At least the non-collision part of it works more effectively than the old Naboo medium does.
I'll do a bit more prodding and see if I can get an answer one way or the other about this.
I'm very close to the point where I can't put any more houses in my city soon
The tattooine side of our city is almost full and with rows of medium naboo down the center of our city and on the naboo side of our city, I can't put any medium or small houses in where they need to be.
Khristen,
I completely understand the combatants complaints about the walls being made, but half of the professions in this game are NOT combat. I think we would all have been ok with this if they would have waited till the "House Pack" goes in. I also think that the 5x6 size is very excessive and just plain ugly, as the old footprint was 3x4. If we wanted to be like Tat houses we would live on Lok, Dantooine or Tatooine. They need to roll this back until the packing is ready and it should only need to be changed to either a 4x5 or a 4x4 size. I have managed 3 cities since PC's came out and the brownstone look was what made Naboo planets appealing. What do they really think things are gonna look like when the purge comes. You think we mayors are mad now, just wait. They have asked us on several occassions what we would like to see in Player Cities to set them apart from the NPC cities. With changes like this all I see is honest players are being punished for the very few grievers out there. I think if the well done suggestions for Player Cities that have been suggested go in, we may have a chance, otherwise Naboo will be a desolate place.
I think another way to solve this would be to allow mayors the ability to move items around in the city limits like we do in a house. Most of the code should already exist.
Thanks for working this for us.

Rabenschwingeit is possible to put the houses back to back, but you can only do two at a time then you have to skip a row and do another two and they have to face diffferent directions. It is a major pain and is causing a LOT of pain to the larger cities.
Can't say I quite understand that... but
I am not a mayor yet, but I might be going to be one. This is a plan that I made for a level one city on Naboo... with gaps so that I may add some things at higher level. I assume it won't be working anymore?

I personally don't see them changing this back. People have accepted this change by not acting on it. Look at the In Live Development forum... last week's EXP nerf hit us on live after 24? hour of testing. People went up in arms! within 24 hours there was 8000 posts on the topic.. true 40% of the posts were just people talking smack but still people stood up to it.
Thunderheart mentioned in a round about way, in another thread, no walls of any kinds, People got griefed, people used this to thier advantage, yada yada yada... I honestly doubt they willl change this back to the brownstone look... trust me I have that look in my city and i still think what if we could do that over here that would add more flavor but we can't... so i live with it.. the new pack option is coming up, IF it works as intended without error, all we, as mayors, have to do is give people WP where exactly you want the house they have and have everyone move thier house in 15 minutes.. bang your done. Just alittle preplanning of how you want your city to be, I am working on a new layout with the criteria i have to work with, the larger medium naboo footprint and I have a few ideas how to make it work.
I hope they reduce the footprint like other mediums but i have accepted the "brownstone" look is gone.

still, the new size is far too big. it would have been eneugh if they added some free space at the left or the right side -this way it would have been possible to make at least blocks of four medium houses. I also cannot understand why building walls out of medium houses is bad - keren or bestine have walls around _and_ in the cities, but noone complains. I also think that it should be the right of the inhabitants of a player city to decide some things like not allowing some special kinds of people (f.e. jedi) to enter their town.
Walls in NPC cities are planned out by the developers and cannot be modified by players with their own agendas. Factional bases cannot be created in NPC cities for those walls to protect. The walls in the NPC cities can't be used to trap another player inside of the walled area.
We will not get walls.
Khristen,
We don't want the walls, and are ok with like a 4x4 footprint, all I really want is to roll-back till we get house pack. The condemed structures in old cities will not let us grow, and being stuck at lvl3 with the mediums, makes it so I can't add houses. Something needs to be done. Guess it will take having 7000 people post in this forum to get something done. hmmm... time to post on every forum till we get some attention???
