House pack-up is already on Test Center again and ready for the next publish. It will be coming with Publish 23.

The foot print is just shy of a large, and leaves gaping holes in carefully thought out player cities!

I have a challenging hill that I must work around. It was perfect before the increased foot print increase, but now nothing but smalls can be placed there.

It sickens me to death to see perfect static cities with pavement and decorations abound yet player cities are always getting the shaft! I mean really, isnt it silly we can not alter the terrine? How long has player cities been published and the most we get now is the ability to pack up our homes with decorations in tact, where as we ... the community leaders and "mayors" of our communities must live with unmowed grass, desperatly placed buildings, and an overall less then sensitive SOE DEV team?

I am sick of being a cheer leader for this crap! Cities need attention... imagin how lovely they could look if we can make them look more like static cities?

I challange DEVS to work with what that shovel out to us mayors: From terrine to building placement! Would static cities look as nice as they do if they had to work under these conditions? I think not.

Thank you for my rant.

I just had to rant because I placed 4 medium homes in less then ideal conditions.

PLEASE ADD TO ISSUES LIST

I'm also more likely to remember to do so if it actually gets posted *IN* the issues list thread rather than in several posts scattered across the Politician and Cities and housing forum. I do the majority of the tallying from there when I'm updating the relative importance as the community sees it.

Cross-posting doesn't get it noticed faster, it only makes more for me to read through and reference when updating things.

why not give us walls? it is quite evident that some military style cities and guilds want walls we pay for this game and want that as a feature. just because the devs don't have the forsite to give it to us originally so we had to do it ourselves didn't make it wrong. and the devs have always rode the wall so to speak on city walls. one time they want it but it is too much code due to leveling of terrain. well then naboo mayors figure it out and since we shown up the devs we can't have any of that.

the way i look at it is. 1) if you don't like walls in your city talk to your mayor and if the city as a whole wants walls and support the mayor with voting for him well then leave the city and find one that suits you.

2) if you complain about visiting a city and it has walls. well then don't go there anymore. there is tons and tons of places to go in the galaxy just cause a place has walls you aren't going? well if that is the case how the hell would you ever go to any poi? most static cities have walls and gates everywhere making them impossiable to run though let alone bike through (keren) (any place on rori) most hard poi's yep surrounded by walls. dungeouns? hmmm all copy and pasted exactly alike underground caves hmmm caves have alot of walls don't they. the medium naboo wall fiasco just further proves that a majority of the people working on this game have no clue how the game really runs/works. hell they even admitted during closed beta that most them never saw ANY of the movies. and they keep thier jobs how???

We will not get walls. Walls are Not A Good Thing. Creating them out of things that were not intended to be walls gets those things nerfed.

Khristen,

Thank-you for working this. I added to the Issues list thread so you have it there.

So the Dev's changed the footpring of the Med naboo houses to get rid of base walls... well that's great except most base walls are made of med generics. Plus the point is moot, every PvP'er worth thier salt knows how to get through a house wall anyways. The problem is when you look at pictures or scenes of naboo buildings they are all lined up next to each other, so by increasing the footprint size you take away from the architectural style of naboo buildings.

The cahnge was made to stop base walls, yet not 1 single PvP'er really got bent out of shape. Go look on the GCW forums, not 1 thread on the first 10 pages about this. They don't care, it was nice but they move on, this has truely only effected cities and those who care about thier cities look.

I am remaking my city on Naboo, the layout has nothing to do with PvP, but is simply more for astethetic value, yet I am forced to use ugly Med Generic houses, where the Naboo ones would add a far more attractive appearence. Don't kid yourself, this did not effect PvP one single bit

i know you all already know this, but SOE will continue to favor combat requests over politican and crafters requests.

because, to run a successful business, you have to cater to the majority.......

and i think it is quite clear that there is no chance it will EVER go back to 3x4, but i think that making it the same size footprint as the other mediums would be a fair and comprimizing move

Ive said it since I first reported the issue:

1. Be consistent. Why only the medium naboo and not the medium generic? They both allow the exact same thing to happen as far as walls go, so if you fix one why are you not fixing the other?

2.Be reasonable. Adding two lines of space between every house seems excessive to me when your stated goal is just to avoid wall building. The change as it was implemented made it so that even cities which had previously seperated its medium naboos out to avoid being called on an exploit still got the raw end of the deal when it came to adjusting to the fix.

The pass-through area on the medium generic is already pretty generous in addition to having some visible space between them, although as you pointed out it can also essentiallybe used to make walls. If this is something the Politician community would like me to add to the issues list, I will certainly do so.

UPDATE:

Well we now have House Pack, thank-you devs. But the problem is not improving. I can ask all the citizens with Mediums to pack and move to do a redesign, but what about those that have left? I am struggling to do ANYTHING with the city as there are ghost towns that were Lvl 5 and since the change to condemn a house, they will not shrink.

Please remove the dead houses or remove planet caps so I will at least have the room to redesign!!!
