Thread: Time for me to collect some issues

1. Mayors SHOULD NOT have the option to destroy the city hall. Cities should only be destroyed upon enough people leaving to drop them under Outpost level population. Otherwise, an unpopular mayor can self-destruct the city.

2. Street paving would be nice.

3. A report of sales and property tax collected would be amazingly helpful. I have no clue how much the city is making from each.

1. Need to place roads or ground texture. Should have low or zero maintenance. Don't care whether they actually affect movement.

2. Need to assess taxes based on use, especially a tax on regular and faction mission terminals if you have Improved Job Market, and when people are cloned.

3. Allow mayor to destroy ONLY Outpost-size cities.

Some comments on other ideas.

a) A mayor need to destroy a city placed hours before when a better site is found, so please don't go overboard on this restriction. By allowing the mayor to destroy only Outpost-size cities, this lets citizens vote for removing a city hall by declaring residency elsewhere.

b) You can send e-mail to everyone in the city by maintaining a list in an e-mail body such as "Andy;Bill;Charlie", then copying and pasting that to the To: field when you want to send out e-mail. That lets you put more names in the To: field than you could manually type. Yes, this is annoying. But it works, and lets the devs work on more important things.

c) I have only seen players go invisible when they have been using mounts. This bug may be more related to mounts than cities.

d) Please do not allow mayors to destroy unwanted structures. That will allow mayors to grief buildings or harvesters that were there before they were, or to monopolize certain areas. If a city wants to keep out new structures, they should put their own structures everywhere, such as roads or gardens.

e) You can encourage growth into a pre-planned city map by placing houses, transferring ownership to your councilors, and they can later transfer ownership to new citizens. This means you can add citizens whenever any councilor is on, and the houses will go where you want them to. (Just be sure to give the new owner admin rights before /transferstructure, or else they won't be able to enter their new house.)

f) You can have a city bulletin by putting the URL of a message board as the name of a structure or sign. (I like boards from http://www.ezboard.com/.)

Plinka, please make sure all trainers are available to place in the city. Right now there is no Bio-Engineer trainer. Thanks!

1. Most mayors are horrible decorators. Either allow /setperm admin or give us someway to assign decorators.

2. 50 cities on talus is too many. This is Talus not Correscant (sp)

3. Why limit the size of cities? Who wants to waste the money on a village?

1) Either remove the streetlights as a decoration or Greatly reduce the cost for ligting your city

2) Lower the ranking system to the original

3) add a mayors title to the politician so roleplayers Know they are talking to a mayor

1. militia-- right now the sheriff and the mayor are the same person. this can be an extremely dificult thing. allow teh mayor the ability to /grantsherriffrights. the rights could include, /grantzoningrights, /hiremilitia, /warnstructure. just to name a few.

2. detailed city income report. we need to see how much in each kind of taxes the city takes in each week. this way it would be easier to set up a budget/taxes. also say the first thursday of the month you get a detailed report of teh previous month's income and tax changes. this monthly report could even be sent to every citizen. so the citizens could see how the city is financially prospering/declining.

3. addition of deputy mayor upon reaching level 3 city. deputy mayor recieves 1/2 xp of mayor. also additoin of commands to mayor/deputy mayor /remove <target> citizenship, disable teh ability to destroy city hall without a city vote, /eximinestructureowner

1. Tax income vs. expenditure This is a normal balance sheet operation that anyone budgeting for a city should have at their disposal for city taxes.

2. Militia should not be allowed to grant zoning rights- should be certain delegated people only

3. City mail feature, able to send mail to all citizens. This priviledge should be grantable, maybe to the zoning poeple (again who are seperate from the militia)

1.)Move Small gardens down to City Custom II. Put fountains in City Custom I. Leave statues in Custom I and move Streetlamps to Novice Politician. We need something more than a city hall at Novice level.

2.)Count Streetlamps on a seperate listing as other decorations. We need more of them!

3.)We need static NPCs to spawn inside our cities. Something to give them a little more life. Maybe a skill that let's us place certain generic npcs who do nothing other than have conversations like those in Starports, but I'd prefer it to be simply generated based on city size. Also need to put in Spynet operatives. I'm receiving tons of requests from bounty hunters about these.

1. Cloning Facility takes up one lot for the mayor, I imagine the shuttleport and other civic structure do as well. Considering 50+ people will be using these structures on a daily basis, the mayor/ex-mayor that placed them should not feel the but of -1 lot a piece. As for the cantina, theater and med center, those belong to citizens, they should take up the citizen's lots.

2. City update time frame has changed. First week it was 130 am eastern, not sure what it was last week, this week it hasn't happened... 3 am eastern now. Solid time would be nice, 50+ tells every five mins asking if I'm going to place the shuttleport yet because the city update is late is not enjoyable.

3. Mail all citizens option for mayor, and how about a city chat (yeah right). This would save typing all those names, and it would also help when the friend list bugs out and you lose all your notes. Thanks for that notepad BTW.

I forgot an issue. Scratch my number 3, and use this one instead

3. Milita - grant zoning rights it helps some, but hurts toooooo much. Make it an option to add this to each member individuallly, or get rid of it.
