I can complain. This is what they proposed to begin with. and it's wrong for all the reasons I've already pointed out. Both from an RP perspective and a game balancing perspective.
STOP acting like if a profession isn't an "elite" profession, then it's just "support." That's BS. Hybrids take more SP, and just as much XP and are as combat capable as any other profession, and have been hosed for 2 years.

I am a CM, and love the CM pistol, but I do not want it. My point is that it should not be in my tree, it should be in the pistol tree.
Anyway, the new patch notes made me a little happier today. Now there are levels of some guns that will allow "noob" weapons and bowcasters and stuff to be usefull at higher levels. That is what I like to see :-).

Ithink you're pissed that SLs got the sexiest looking new pistol and the new ones have been given out to other professions, and you're ignoring the fact that there are a plethora of pre-existing pistols that are being revamped, because they are new, fresh hotness.
And that is kind of lame, wanting the new stuff because it's new, not because it serves your function better.
Well, if it's any consolation, I'd gladly swap either of the Smuggler pistols for an enhanced DL44, but I really think Pistoleers need to examine their motives before kicking up a stink about this.
And I'm getting massive amounts of jealousy towards the SLs, just because their pistol looks nice. Remember, beauty is only skin deep.
Bingo. I think you've brought out the reason this thread was created.

Which is why hybrids should get their own weapon classes. They should not be using "Pistols", but "Heavy Weapons" or something instead. Rename "Launcher Pistol" to "Grenade Launcher" and classify it as a "Heavy Weapon", and voila! Now pistoleers can not complain that they can not use the "Launcher Pistol". Do the same thing for the scatter. I have no developed arguement for the SL pistol, because they needed something. Maybe they should get something like "troop" pets similar to CH, only people w/ blasters. That way they are actually leading a squad, not shooting a pistol. Combat Medic should be more focused on the "Medic" part of their name, and not recieve any weapon without gaining certifications through marksman or brawler. They will still have debuffs, and if they keep poisons they have those to hurt people with (they just need to let us incap from poisons again, but fix it so it can not triple incap and uses the PvP % reduction in power).
What they need is a larger variety of weapon types, not a larger number of the same weapon types (although, more weapons would be good WITH more weapon types).
Yeah, so go ahead and spout off on other peoples ideas and ignore the fact that this would solve a lot of problems.

No, what they're doing right now is solving a lot of problems.
The ONLY thing this idea does is give "elite" profs things they don't actually need, because they ALREADY HAVE an equivalent weapon, just because they think it looks cooler. *mumbles something about a magic fish*
I'm going to be optimistic though, and assume your corr has enough sense to ignore this thread

I really do not care about what the Pistoleer corr does, because I really do not care about pistoleer... The only reason I am one is because the CU forced me to take it up in order to master an elite combat w/ Combat Medic. I would much rather be using carbines or *gasp* rifles, but whatever.
I do not have the skill points to continue my current playstyle while losing 14 points to the pistol tree in marksman, so I am just here to try and give my opinion. Seeing how I will be using the CM pistol, I really do not care (but I would love to have the SL or one of the smuggler pistols b/c they look cool).

Gah!
I can't take any more of this
What kind of freakin profession is "pistoleer" anyway? Is this the wild west or something.
All these fake "professions" that are nothing more then "lots of skills with weapon type XXX" would be abolished if I had my way.
Bounty Hunter is a PROFESSION, Smuggler is a PROFESSION, Doctor is a PROFESSION, Storm Trooper is a PROFESSION, Bar Tender is a PROFESSION. Rifleman, Carbineer, Pistoleer, Swordsman... all just sorry excuses for bad game design
Be happy with what you get in your tree, consider other trees more specialized. Just because you can shoot a gun at your local shooting range and you're an expert shot doesn't mean you have any training with, experience with, or legal access to assault, military, exotic, or other non-standard weaponry.

If there were a Stormtrooper tree, I would do that in a heart beat.
Unfortunatly the closest thing to soldier is rifle/carbine/pistol, so that is what I am. I do not consider Commandos soldiers because I do not like the idea of using a flame thrower in Star Wars, and I do not want to be a smuggler or bounty hunter. I am an imperial officer, and under the current "professions" that is as close as I can get.

Well Im pissed that the dl44 metal, and the de-10 are exactly the same on test center. What's the point of looting thi sgun then. I feel like ive wasted months just to get the only pistol that does serious damage, to now be replaced by a craftable gun. The only difference is the looks. Maybe the wound mod. I want the millions Ive spent making these back. The DE-10 needs to remain special for the sake of the DWB fun. The same way vibro motors and other looted weapon components have been made obsolete by crafters will now happen to the de-10.

what else do you have that you don't have the skill points for? You'll have 38 points left over if you master both CM and Rifles. What else is in your playstyle that you need 52 points for, instead of 38 points?

Medical crafting moved. Now to make more basic components I have to realocate skill points. As it is I need 261 points to do what I can do right now and have leftover points . Plus, I have FS boxes that take away from my skill point pool as well. That means I have to sacrifice my medical crafting ability in order to continue my play style, AND i do not know if I want to drop master medic, since keeping it makes healing power increase.
