Recast Bounty Hunter, Commando and a third "Melee-type" profession as new alpha-classes on par with Jedi(before the recent nerfs). They would all require the same type of quests/ grinding as Jedi (to prevent as much whining as possible) and have skills and bonuses specific to their roles.

Bounty Hunters would be strictly ranged, Commandoes would have mix of melee and ranged(general ranged, NOT just heavy weapons - I'm thinking more of the SEAL/SWAT/SAS type commando using a wide range of weapons - four skill branches; heavy weapons(including grenades), general ranged, general melee/unarmed, and a survival tree.) and a third melee-only equivanent(can't think of a name for it off the top of my head 'cuz frankly I don't care .)

These new classes would require that you achieve CL80 in applicable proffessions, and would not require dropping your base skills

Making BH an dalpha class has been dicussed a ton on the BH forums as a means of quelling the BH/Jedi squabbling, but I think giving everone a way to go beyond the 2 1/2 profession cap would breathe new life into this two year old game and provide those of us with no desire to become Jedi something else to strive for.

My ideas for an end game are perhaps similar to a lot of other people's ideas except that I don't think Pistoleer needs to have any sort of increased damage output as I think we are fine as we are.

I'd like to see something similar to how the FS branches work giving the Pistoleer the option of specialising in a particular aspect of pistol game mechanics.

Dual Wield: Gain in rate of Fire but reduction in Accuracy. Very effective against low defense enemies.

Dodger: Better defense and Action bonus. The conservative choice.

Gunslinger: Use of holster and can spin his pistol. No ranged weapon hindrance while gun is holstered.

Trickster: Decreased Stoppingshot timer and action cost.

Best way of having diversity would be to limit the training to only 2 out of 4 branches. My suggestion would be to not have it permanent learning but have the unlocking be quest based and if you don't like one branch you can drop it for another by doing a different quest.

What about adding special theme parks for all professions?

Learn the skills of the Black Sun. Train in the arts of a Nightsister. Rebel combat training. Imperial combat training. Enhanced creature training. Tera Kasi anti-jedi shrine. Deathwatch tatics. Royal Guard training. ETC.

I am all for SPECIAL profession theme parks, and the only way you can keep the skills is remaining loyal to the profession. This way not everyone can do it and it makes being a MASTER of your profession special.

Why give FOTM force wh0res and Jedi all the fun!

Help improve and save the professions that made this game and reward those that remained loyal to their skills!

Indeed, why not give non jedi an expansion pack, they already have Kashyyyk as the Jedi Theme Park.

things I like and what they should do to our abilities based on RL pistoleering

holster: who doesn't think that would be cool? affect on pistoleer. first attack takes longer as you have to draw your weapon. this would affect you only when you are attacked first, obviously, b/c if you know you're going to attack something, you pull your gun out. if you don't, well then the delay would apply just b/c you're dumb.

dual wield: um, nuff said! that's what my character should do (name is ro-land deschain). affect on pistoleer- having a weapon in both hands means that you put more shots at a target. it also means you are less accurate and slightly slower as you would have to holster one gun to "reload" when you run out of ammo. (I know these are laser guns, but bear with me). So that's an increased dmg output, but substantially decreased accuracy and slightly decreased speed.

And I'd love to have some quest/content where we go to a pistoleer master and learn more stuff, as mentioned many times above. But, I think that if you wish to learn more pistoleer stuff, it should cost you skill points. For instance, right now I am a MP, MR, BH4000. If i wanted to train in the legendary pistoleer skills, I should have to drop my BH. Then, if I wanted a whole new tree of legendary skills, I should have to be a pistoleer only, no other skills. The legendary boxes should cost more than a regular tree/branch/box so we have no dabblers.

How about some missions, similar to Bounty Hunter but for Pistoleers. What kind of things would you like to see?

Well.... You really couldn't have any... Pistoleer, Carbiner, Rifleman, Teras Kasi, Swordsman, Fencer andPikeman are all forms of combat rather than jobs... Unless you made some kind of "loner-cowbow" concept of pistoleer, in whichthe mission entails thatyou have to travel with agungan who wants to kill you, because he knows the location of a graveyardon Tatooineof which you know the gravestone of which treasure is buried, all the while the galactic civil war is going on... Otherwise, I can't think of a thing... I would rather have some sort of a dual-weilding quest... In which Boba Fett teaches you his fathers moves.

BTW:10 brian creditsto who can guess the referance I made above!

Pistoleer is my toons job.

Killing things with guns... it's not a bad trade, but the pension sucks.

Bare with the brainstorming

With all the comparisons to westerns made in some of the pistoleer posts I couldnt help thinking of the scene in "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" where the ugly is taking apart similar pistols and combining the parts into one wepon that is right for him.

Basically I dont want Boba Fetts, or Han's pistol, I want people to want my pistol.

So in pratice im thinking it could work something like this;

At master pistoleer you unlock the (insert impresive name here) skill. This skill alows you to deconstruct several simliar pistols into their basic parts, such as barrel, trigger, sights, magazine/ battery, etc. You can then take the diffrent parts as each will carry over some percentage of damage accuracy speed etc from the original, and combine them into a new weapon.

For example take a high damage dl 44 xt magizine and combine it with the barrel of a death hand ( I think the death hand is the one with long range) so you would end up with a pistol with slighty les damage but greatly increased range.

Perhaps You have to give the final design to a weapon smith to complete the assymbly so as not to make them feel left out.

This could also open up some quest content, For example your told of a person whos family has an heirloom from many centuries ago. A broken weapon that an ancestor carried in a forgoton war. You procure (how you mange that part Ill leave between you and whatever gods you chose )that weapon and can take it apart. The whole weapon may not work but you do happen to be able to take a special lens from it that just happens to fit in modern energy based pistols. putting that lens into a pistol design might give the pistol more damage or perhaps a greater percentage of effect sticking.

course this concept would be open to all ranged profesions. and the resulting wepon should be bio bound.

do that and make the apperance reflect the splicing of weapons and id almost be happy.

Oh did I mention Dual wield?
