A good sniper can put a bullet through a quarter at 1000 yards.
Let's not even try to compare this game to reality. If it were about reality, pistols would be totally useless in combat compared to rifles and carbines. But it's not reality, and the name of the game is BALANCE.
If this was reality, a Master Gunfighter could empty his pistol's clip in less that .7 seconds with dead-eye accuracy.
What are you trying to prove wiht your post?

Dear Devs/SWG community:
First off, before reading this post, read this guide in the pistoleer forums to help understand where I am coming from.
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pistoleer&message.id=39826
Now read this:
" 'Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.'
For the Pistoleer, no truer words could be spoken. While the rifle has the better range and the carbine is a good all-around weapon, when the tactics break down and the lines blend, it is the Pistoleer who can make the difference.
Any kid can blast a bottle of Corillian ale off a fencepost in broad daylight. The Pistoleer can shoot six out of the air while on the run at night and shoot the seventh out of your hand before you have a chance to throw it. It is a harsh galaxy out there and this profession has the abilities to survive it.
Increased rate of fire and increased accuracy both while standing and on the move are some of the perks of this profession's disciplines. In addition, because of the close combat work involved, the Pistoleer enjoys bonuses to melee defense and an increased chance to dodge an attack. Eventually, the increased speed and accuracy a Pistoleer gains allow accurate attacks on multiple enemies at once.
Placing a shot accurately is fine, but if the area aimed at was not vital, the result could be the same as a miss. The Pistoleer knows where toshoot to drop a target quickly and effectively - if somewhat noisily and messily.
While easily reached, this profession is difficult to master. Some move on to other interests, others get distracted by the fame and fortune made available without mastering everything to do with a pistol. Only fools laugh at the Master Pistoleer.

"The Carbineer is the Front Line Troop. With enough range to engage at a good distance and enough firepower to make things difficult for the enemy when the fighting gets close, the carbineer is the staple of any major fighting force... The Carbine is a lighter version of rifles, with focus on volume of fire over accuracy..."
also taken from prima's stratagy guide. +65 speed at master... and you talk about needing a speed fix...
Honestly, can you find another combat profession with 2 working specials? Up until last patch you could have namedCarbineersWe are even slower than a rifleman now (when we use specials) Way to specify, and FAR less accurate (unless we dabble in BH, but why should I waste all those skill points to get what a rifleman gets?) I agree, he same thing happens in Carbines. The only working part of pistoleer is our defense.A part that doesn't work in carbines.. I mean have you ever seen a carbineer use Counterattack ever?I am hoping this thread gets as much attention as that one rifleman thread (that seemed to get them fixed). Our damage per second rate is far too low, in addition, our elite weapon (DX2) is very hadicapped compared to the T21 Cough*EliteCarbine*Cough. I am not asking for a rifleman nerf. I am not asking for a T21 nerf. I am not asking to screw over every profession. I am asking to please make our speicals work. Yes, no nerfing, pust bring Carbines and Pistols up a bit. Mainly Speed for Carbines please.

I've been going for master pistoleer since August and finally mastered it a few weeks ago. Master is disappointing, but it's all in the concept... I may be running around doing 100 damage to people in PvP, but in my mind I'm jumping through the air firing off my dual deagles and owning 5 people at once. Not sayin' we should be that good, but the coolness factor could be exagerated a bit and I wouldn't mind
