Thread: Why do pistoleers compare themselves to BHs?

And will you people please try to be more concise. For god sakes its not a contest to see who gets the longest post.
Oh, sorry if actually addressing your narrow-minded made "points" (if they can even be considered that) is not the proper way to post...
Would you rather we take after you and the majority of your posts and not contribute counter points to your claims and just whine, cry and troll instead? Sorry, I don't think I can do that -I prefer to try and be constructive with my responses.

I cant wait to see what you say when you get destroyed by a Doctor/anycombat skill. It will happen too. Its pretty obvious by your post that you feel you should just be better no mater what and shouldnt have to put any thought into how to take down your opponent. That usualy leaves you with one thing, a dead BH. It doesnt have to be a BH either, anyone thinking like that will and deserves to get destroyed on a regular basis. Can you imagine the screaming he will do when he comes up against a doctor with combat skills or when a combat medic nails him with some nice ae poison?
""We are masters of that.....blah blah" "Look at the tree, we should own you in combat." I've heard these before. Thanks though."
-Care to be any more obscue?
"Bounty Hunters were feared for their combate abilities in star wars"
-Oh yeah, it sure looked like Han was terrified of Gweedo (sp) in the Cantina.
"a bh should beat a pistol guy easy"
-Most BH ARE pistol guys.
"You might say," But look at the tree, man, i've got so much more training than you, and you spent half..blah blah.""
-Wow, whenever anyone has a point you just cut it off with 'blah blah' because there is no logic to beat it. How mature
"Go back to tech school and learn more jokes please. Thanks."
-Go back to elementry school and learn how to think Gonzo. Try to make some sense in your arguments, and try to make your comebacks a bit sharper, as currently it is as dull and witless as yourself.
"For god sakes its not a contest to see who gets the longest post"
-When there is a lot of stupidity to correct, then it takes more than 6 words.
wow, those are some great 'post usefulness' ratings you got there Gonzo, looks like most people agree that in fact you are a complete dolt when it comes to pistoleer issues.
Just an idea here, so BH's can 'maybe' understand why pistoleers should be better with pistols than them. The argument I keep seeing BH's make is that they spend more skill points. Fair enough, but easily shown to be a fallacious line of thinking.
Take two players, A and B. Both players work their way up to Master Marksman and Scout. At this point player A decides to become a pistoleer and player B chooses to become an Bounty Hunter. After awhile they have both mastered their new skill. They have both spent the exact same amount of Skill Points, BUT the BH is somehow still better with the pistol than the Master Pistoleer?? AND he is also better with rifles, carbines and can track targets.
Like Kaeg has said more than once - Combat is only HALF of what a BH is!! But fighting with Pistols is ALL of what a Pistoleer is. Can you understand why Skill Points are NOT the determining factor of how good a class should be? Should an Urban Planner (when they are available) be as good as a BH because they are 'forced' to spend the same amount of skill points to be what they are? As has been repeated Ad Nauseum, Skill Points are there to prevent us from becoming Masters of Everything.
And for the farcical idea that a Bounty Hunter should 'own' a pistoleer in a duel, please reference my post in the "dear pistoleers" thread - http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pistoleer&message.id=7199&page=1
It should help enlighten you to the idea of why a BH ever 'dueling' in the first place is ludicrous. As for Boba and Jango, watch the movies again. The only time they ever fought was when they were in a position that required them to. Boba captured Han not by 'dueling' him, but by tracking and hunting him, then using the resources at his disposal to ASSIST in his capture. The only time Boba ever actually fought he got his butt handed to him by a BLIND Pistoleer/Smuggler. Unless you count the time he ran away from a novice Jedi Trainee (Luke) in Bespin.
perfect bender. I don't know how you can put it more bluntly than this:
BH is half marksmen and half scout, thus he is not a pure combat profession.
Deal with it.
ALSO: The part of BH that IS combat is split into three different weapons, being MASTER of none, and having to pick the tool for the job at hand. They aren't about being pistol-pimps, they are jack-of-all trades type of hunters.
Ok, I'll try and put this out in "concise" manner to appease Gonzo...
You are making your assumptions as to how the BH profession should be based off of what you've seen in the movies and read in the books. Now try and comprehend this next part : Could it be possible, oh ever so slightly (yes this is sarcastic), that maybe the people represented in the movies and books are the *gasp!* exceptions rather than the rule for the general consensus of those people who compromise the Star Wars galaxies?
Chew on that for a bit, eh?

Gonzo wrote: "So the pvp aspect of the game does not affect me, but your constant whining and whimpering about how bh can kill you has thrown my profession into nerfdom. Because of people like you, shirkers who like to be uber without working at it, my profession is the crapiest profession ever. I can't do missions because of the bugs that have occured since they tried to "fix" my profession."
Pistoleer hasn't caused any nerfs to any profession except their own. We regularly discuss how certain features of our own professionare overpowered. We bring up that speed bonuses get stupidly powerful at 100. We bring up that knockdown stacks the paralyze timer such that getting hit by 5 in a row can disable you for minutes. We are interested in game balance.
If you think that the the GLOBAL knockdown nerf that hurt TKA's the most and affected BH's a bit too was instigated by Pistoleers against BHs then you need your head checked.
Oh and on this bit:
"Because of people like you ... my profession is the crapiest profession ever."
Are you nuts? Your profession is the crappiest ever because it was designed horribly. And I absolutely support the devs fixing it ASAP. 1 line gets you unique missions. Guess what, we all get unique missions now. Tha'ts right, artisan, entertainer, hunter missions are commonplace now, but none of us pay skill points for them. 1 line gets you a broken weapon. Gonna blame that on Pistoleers? And 2 lines are blatant copies of existing profession skills. Your profession is the most ill conceived profession in the game and I truly hope the devs fix it to make it the powerful, unique, rewarding path that it ought to be. But don't blame us for your problems.
But you have made it obvious you will not reasonably discuss this topic at all. You are merely interested in informing all that because you have the title of Bounty Hunter you should be the SWG god. So can we just agree to disagree and put this thread to an end?
"I'm a pistoleer, skilled in the art of using a pistol to bring swift death to my enemies."----Xetal
They should put that on a shirt. Good stuff. Not bad for a tenth-grade education, but dude, don't start believing that. Its so sad to see people lose touch with reality.
lol, they bleeped my tech school comment. Just noticed that. Boo. But, his comments get off uncensored. Yeah, like he brings up new and relivant points. Pistoleer/Bh combo huh? That's a nice uber recipe. Hope they fix the uber-like atmosphere, but then again, these people do bring class to the game though. As demonstrated by this witty quote from xetal:
"Gonzologer, it appears by your posting that you are a completly stupid newbie who was too stupid to open his SWG box. You have to pull the tab OUT of the top, allowing the game to come out. Someone else will have to explain how to install it for you though, because dealing with someone as retarted as you for 30 seconds is my good deed of the day."
After reading that and the rest of his remarkable post, the word brilliant came to mind, and then it sliped away like alot of this poor boy's hopes and dreams....
Anyway, The fact is this argument should not be happening.
To even think that a pistoleer should be on equal footing with a bh is silly. If they did that the uber styling pistol/ch combo would take over and thegame would not even come close to being like star wars. The fact is you're gona get nerfed... Bh might be nerfed again, but we're already screwed up anyway. But that will not affect my love for Xetal. No, my friends, that is eternal and unconditional.
hey gon... i don't wanna read this post because it sounds moronic like every other one i have read... read this and you will know why you can't win in a duel vs a pistoleer....

Dude, greedo wasn't even a professional bh. Read the tales from bh; you'll find out that that was his first assignment. He was some kind of refugee, i think. Somehow he took this assignment. Can't remember how.
