I love the quest ideas and when you complete the quests you get improved and advanced moves that are not on the normal pistoleer tree. Haveing a collection of different moves from High damage output moves (which pistoleers REALLY need) and moves that disarm/delay/or animate the opponents.

I trully love the duel wielding idea. That has alway's drawn me to pistols and would really love to see it ingame.

I really don't think we need any new pistols, there are so many new ones that came with Kashyyk that I think we could just be able to TRULY use our pistols to the best of our ability.

One more thought, as MASTER PISTOLEERS why can't we use ANY pistols ingame? If its called a pistol then MASTER PISTOLEERS should be able to appropriately use it, and have a higher DPS than any other profession, including BH's, SL's, Smugglers and such.

My two cents, run with it as you please...

I have always thought that every combat professions needs to have a long series of quests after master box to unlock a "Elite Elite Profession" type skill line. That goes along with the "Gunslinger" "Trickshot" idea brought up in this thread.... Every professions should have 2 or 3 options to go more into their profession... More Defensive, or more Offensive ect.. with new moves and weapons to give us something to do after master instead of the boring jedi.

We already have that, you get it after you finish Boba Fett's quests, the KYD21 pistols I believe. Quite handy too.

I posted a similer idea, (but for more proffessions) in the commando forums. It's titled "every age has its wars, and every wars have its legends" after I get through this group hunt. I'll reread this post and give some comments ect.

about the idea of the trainer in bestine...

The greatest SW gunfighter of all time was a pistoleer, and a scoundrel. I can't remeber his name, but he decorated the tips of his mustache with gold beads. Han Solo ran into him a couple of times in the Han Solo adventures (all my books are in storage )He is dead in this timeline, but maybe he had an apprentice? <--- great tie in

As for end game stuff, what i have gathered is that people don't want more alpha classes, jedi are enough.

the legends thread

something needs to be a good goal though. Duel weilding is nice, although even being a Master pistoleer pre and post CU (not a holo proffession) I never felt that I wanted it that badly.

On reflection however, I think it would be nice, I think of pistols as 1 of two things holdout weapon, or ambush weapons.

so here are mythree ideas.

First duel weild after some quest given from an NPC in Nyms strong hold, its a pirate kind of move, its intimidating, and that's what pirates want. It slows your firing rate and lowers your accuracy, but it gives a measurable improviment (say 75%) chance of intimidate sticking. the pirate mentions that there is a bounty hunter that is known for his ability to get the "drop" on someone

This bounty hunter spawns randomly on seedier and outer rim planets in major cities, looking for his mark (hey, its a elite quest gotta make it dificult)

after lots of training and instruction from him, you get a special, called "the drop" Its adelaying move that doesn't break on damage. 4 second delay, Long reuse (say 10 mins and can nly be used to initiate combat, only used with pistols)

The bounty hunter mentions that the drop is used most effectivly, when your target does not know you are a threat.

You travel to Kashyyyk (SOE will only go for this if it ties in the expansion) and meet the man who was trained by the gold beaded guy.

You learn from him the art of the conceal.

When you have your weapon concealed, your agro range lowers considerably. similer to when you walk, not run in the corvette. For PvP, you get a 10% damge reduction when your pistol is concealed becuase you aren't perceived as much as a threat. to balance this, the gun is imediatly unholstered after you are hit, and it cannot be holstered while in combat. I f you initiate combat while your weapon is holstered, you get a 10% damage increase for that first shot, becuase you caught your target unprepared.

sounds good?

1) "CL 80& M Pistoleer" prereqweapon(s), quest for parts, schematic (revemp DE-10?). Higher min-damage & est DPS, lower SAC? Something tastey.

2) Drawing from JtL, "Pistoleer Prestiege" XP, tradable for access to quests, abilities, 'trophies', "biolinking" upper level weapons, etc.

3) Cross-Profession 'epic' level class unlocked through Master box and one other Mastery. Drawing from (*shudders*) Jedi here, an alternative for SWG endgame being currently Jedi-only. M Pistoleer + M Marksman might be "Gunfighter" (damage and mez), M Pistoleer + M Smuggler would unlock a prof, M Pistol + M Carbines might be a "Master at Arms: Small arms." (as opposed to carbine/rifle being some other "master at arms"). A character would be able to take *only one* at a time. Low SP cost, allowing M Pist / MBH a shot at mastering an 'epic' prof.

4) Dueling abilities. Something to make a believable pistol duel possible. (not dual) With the advent of our "crowd controll" specialization, the image of the gunslinger is all but dead without mixing in damage specials from annother class. Something here to bring that back.

Why have one alpha class?

I'm a little tipsey from a fundraiser for Sue Myrick, so bear with me please.

Look at the way that jedi has been botch time and time again. Do you really want more alpha classes comming in?

I'll be honest with you, I'm all about commando. It's why I started my legends thread in the commando forums. However, I came to realize that alpha proffessions are bad for the game. In my mind, Proffession diustinctions were severly eroded with the CU. I think that the Devs really need to look long and hard at the ranged proffessions esp. This is my general "Philosiphy" if you will.

Rifles, backbone of a offensive military force. they are the killers that lay down rapid, accrate, and lethal fire at long ranges.

Carbineers, Assault forces, kick in the doors mentality. they work by controling there opponents. force them out of there fighting positions with posture up shots, stun them with there shots, blind them by near misses that spray dirt/debris in there eyes, leave them in a state of confusion.

Pistoleers, Primarily a defensive, hold out weapon, however, there are some peope who have through long years of practice, have learned how to use pistols to an offensive advantage. These are short range weapons that can be concealed easily. Used to get the jump on somebody. at short ranges, pistols are far more quick to handle than a rifle, and a psitol weilding foe can often get 3-4 shots in before a rifleman can bring his weapon to bear, once the rifleman gets his weapon on target, he has the firpower advantage, if he isn't already dead. Pistols are 1 vs 1 dirty fighting weapons best used at extreme close range.

Commando's a storied proffession, are Shock troopers, "Wham, Bam, thank you Ma'am" specialist. able to deal out extremly heavy damage over a large area for a short period of time, they work by overwhelming an enemy before than can react. not able to sustain long drawn out "trench" warfare however.

Squad leaders, are the ones that organize and execute attacks, another storied proffesion. while they don't normaly participate in the actual fighting, they are the ones that direct fire and manuver to its most devastating effectiveness.

Smugglers hate combat, there entire lives are spent trying to avoid it, The best are the stuff of legends, able to disappear in a crowd, and never able to be pinned down, they somehow always manage to slip away.

Bounty hunters are also the stuff of legends, able to track down and find the most eleusive of prey, sentient beings. Once theycorner there prey, it's a no holds barred, lioke smugglers they prefere to avoid combat, prefering more to rely on the intimidation factor to carry the day, and there pocket books. However, if there quarry choses to fight, they meet some of the toughest foes in the galaxy, for they BH knows every dirty trick, and the counters to them, to bring a single opponent to there knees.

Combat medics are perhaps the bravest person on the battlefield, rushing to there comrades aid, and admistering life saving first aid to there otherwse mortally wounded comrades staunching bleeding, the effects of poison, disease and burns. There work is often called "Field expediant" however, and can leave large amounts of scar tissue in the form of wounds, which a doctor must heal.

Rangers have spent a lifetime mastering the wilderness, and are unsurpassed in trekking and finding there quarry. able to slip into the most heavily defended places, they have no problem locating crucial enemy targets undetected for there squad leaders.

There you have it folks, if it doesn't make any sense, it's becuase the bartendor at the open bar put more tequila in my margerita than margerita mix.

Rp'ers are going to hate me for this....

But why not advanced skillsets based on PvP Rating?

It's not easy to farm, and measures skill....

what i would like added most is double pistols added to the game weather is a master pistoler only skill or anyone can use them i think that one pistols in each hand would be very cool even if it didn't increase the dps or speed it would still look awsome.
