That's a bit misleading. You may be able to do 600 damage with Stopping Shot compared to 300 damage with Eye or Torso shot, but there's a major difference besides just the raw number. Stopping Shot is damage to*random* HAM bars. Torso and Eye Shot are each *targeted* to a specific HAM bar.


If someone has 900 HAM on each bar, that's 3*900 HAM: 2700 total HAM that Stopping Shot has to work on.


Stopping Shot with 600 random HAM damage will need to shoot about 4 or 5 times to kill the opponent (maybe 3 shots if you're really lucky). In addition, most of the damage that Stopping Shot will inflict can be healed with a simple stimpack.

According to Pistoleer research (refer you to the state of Profession post), a random HAM shot will hit health 55% of the time. That is the reason I said it is a matter of luck there of hitting the same pool twice in a row out of 3 shots.


Also regarding healing, I don't know how much PvP you have been involved with, but unless both parties are buffed and armored, by the time you realize you need to heal and queue up healing you will be incapacitated it is not instantenous. So healing doesn't come into it really. By the way, I did say this was simplistic example as there are a lot of variations.


Also, we are making these comparisons in non-real world situations. I would never use just pistols, I'd use FKD + Dizzy first , if it sticks it is over. Just like if a Pistoleer/Smuggler combo has the panic shot and/or Low blow stick first it is over for me.


Now, if the defenses on TC really work, it will be interesting as BHs are more or less one trick ponies in PvP, if our state shots do not stick due to high defenses actually working, it doesn't matter how much damage I can do if I can not land it. I have no defenses to speak of.

I don't know how hard and fast of a rule that 55% figure is. If its true then it would be somewhere around even with weapon quality (Scatter pistol vs DX2) and luck being the determining factors.

I haven't been involved in enough PvP to be very good yet, but I know if you spam your special attacks, sure, you won't have a chance to heal. If you're fighting a pistoleer and you have a composite chest plate on, that should be all you need to have a chance to heal.

Being just a master pistoleer without any BH or Smuggler enhancements to my skills, I guess I'm SOL in a real world situation then, since pistoleer doesn't have a dizzy attack or a ranged knockdown. You'd knock me down before I even get a chance to knock you down, assuming defenses as they are today (the improved defenses are not live and haven't been tested well, so I don't count them). It would be nice to have one or both of those since it seems like a lot of other combat professions have them.


Btw, Tanks, a lot of BHs that come to the pistoleer forum aren't quite so civil as you. I appreciate it.

No, it works the way you described. With a fast pistol, I have used Low Blow on7creatures inside of 30 seconds. (I'm just a Master Smuggler, don't currently have any BH/pistoleer pistol speed bonuses). I have used Panic shot 3 times in 30 seconds to hit 8players (3 were in my 45 degree cone on the first shot, 3 on the second, and 2 on the third.)

Eyeshot with 300 targeted damage will kill the opponent in 3 shots. It hits the mind pool which cannot be healed.


I'd say Eyeshot has the total and complete advantage. Torsoshot has the advantage too, being targeted damage, but at least that can be healed.

Add to this the fact that once you're KD by a Smuggler, you are dead (it NEVER takes me more than 5 seconds to kill someone, needless to say it will be much faster if he is KD).

Dont forget that two of the best pistols in the game cant even be used by a pistoleer, the scatter and launcher pistols It's really sad.

Actually you can.


After you master pistoleer you have 158 skill points left. You can pick up novice commando or BH if that is what you wish. It is all about choices we make .

agreed ... my favorite episode ... im a mast pistoleer .. i have ALL 80-86% comp armor .. very nice ... totally buffed by doc AND dancer. Basically none of my ham is below 2000 and consider my FULL armor ... I have a krayt fwg 90-445 after pu


smuggler swings by KD LOL


im lying on the floor for what seemed an eternity while he kept shooting at me ... armor doing its job ... while im trying to get up lol


no such luck


even after taking every precaution ... consider best armor in game, best weapon, best buffs .. KD can rule.... lol is there anything else to say?

Btw, my 2 cents... I love low blow, deffinitely the most useful attack. Followed by Fan Shot. I've just always loved fanshot, even before they made it a cone attack... and now that it's a cone attack my god it owns ten fold.

ITCANTSTOP,,obviously youve never got shot with a 500dmg scatter eyeshot doing roughly about 400-600dmg per shot per second pvp... Even with the best armor wich is around 80% wich most armor is about 45-55%. Eyeshot will kill anyone,Thats the only thing that usualy can actualy kill me is eyeshot with a rly high dmg scatter or fwg5, I like how all the bh and pistoleers whine,you are all the best proffessions in the game, **edit**,lol. I hope they put a stop to 500dmg pistols,,its just rediculious, it just makes all other professions obsolete

you can spam eyeshot on me anyday with my 86% resist helmet and ill have you down in 5-10 secs with my pistol causei can still fight back .. but KD .. its KO
