Thread: Soloing Krayts?
I spent a few hours last night farming the graveyard with a MSL/MRifle guildy.
It's quite a competition on Chimaera when the spawn is working so I found that whenever an ancient popped up on my radar, I'd swoop into it and hit my bike store macro 80m out which drops me within 10m of the Krayt before it can aggro, then para/drain/shock, warning shot, (pyro) stopping shot, fire, poison and spam damage.
With the SL buffs I get terrain negotiation and then when my guildy catches up to me he nukes it with a rifle which makes them go down a lot quicker.
I did see a lot of people soling krayts with different templates, one interesting one was a Rifleman with two cyber arms soloing krayts with Kneecap shot and rifle specials.
A lot of smugglers with concussion shot out as well.![]()

That's my exact template. Soloing Krayts is possible, but I find it boring and if they +retreat+ then it's really a waste of time.

I'm MP/MBH/MM/Carbines 0300 and I can solo Krayts all day. Root is wonderful, but the Crippling Shot from Carbines is all you need. I rotate Adv. Crit (MBH) and Imp. Leg Shot (Carbineer) and I can do more damage over time than just about anyone. Juvies are actually the toughest because they move the fastest, and I've solo'd up to Ancients, though they regen fast. Giants and regular Canyons are a cake walk, though. I'm rolling in tissues and pearls, and I've got enough Armor Cores to outfit a battalion.
I honestly think that MP/MBH is among the best damage-dealing combos in the game when you factor in control. With the changes due to Roots (hopefully a root-timer for the target with a shorter timer on the shot itself) we should be able to survive groups of MOBs quite nicely, though that's not an issue with Krayts. Before taking on something like an Ancient that will +Retreat+ when it gets bored (takes a while to kill these) or moves too far away from its spawn point, target it and do /way.
You now know where it spawned and if you keep it as close to that wp as possible, it will either not retreat or when it does, it will not regen much as the distance it travels is not very far.
What I do when an Ancient retreats on me is follow it under 10m and wait for the ? to pop up over its head when it reaches the wp.
I now know retreat is over and slap on the paralyze/shock/drain and off we go again.
Kiin Dray gives a badge and is soloable if you "droid pull" your way to the point above his lair then pull out the queen which spawns him, then pull him out. No loot on him though.
Peko Peko Albatross drop feathers for armour, can be found near Kadaara and go down pretty easy.
Nightsisters... killed a fair few elders and got nothing as the loot tables are still screwed so you're best off killing things with specific loot drops.
Axva Min only spawns after server reset, so you if you know when one is scheduled you can go park yourself down there and logout, log back in and get some of those motors that Pikeman so desire.
Acklay... 2 hour respawn timer... get a badge and bones for melee weapons.
Death watch overlord drops jetpack parts, not really soloable...
Corvette is gettnig balanced in pub 19 so AV-21 powerplants from that again without the 1 shot kils through walls from the overpowered SBD's.
And then there is the "exploit" where Imperials can farm DJM's at Dath Prison. +25 attachments galore.

I've just checked and how can you get MPistoleer, MBH, MMedic and Carbines 0300? I checked and run out of skill points half way in Pistoleer.
I'm MBH, MRifleman and Pistols 0003. Would I be able to solo a Krayt and how? I've only ever done one since CU and that was only 'cause it got stuck so wasn't able to attack and I let me droid kill it
MM in this case means Master Marksman, not Master Medic.
