Um no. It was posted because an NONnamed NPC OWNED someone.

/nod...

I don't think he realizes Lok is classified as an adventure planet, and because of that, there are going to be some harder mobs...

harder mods... yes. I own most of the creatures on Lok. It's when lackie no-names own me that I worry.

And I do realize that Lok is supposed to be harder. I've been playing almost since release. Duh!

I've been playing since the begining of this game. I know for a fact that the mercs you are talking about are hard, well they are hard with no armor or buffs anyways. Its actually not that hard to understand, the npc's were obviously more prepared than you. They had armor and buffs. You didnt so you should lose....isnt that how it works?
Look at it this way, when your a Master Pistoleer your combat level is around 30-35. The Merc you were attacking was probably the same level. However he has buffed stats and armor, you didn't. In PvP you would be dead meat, why wouldn't this be the same?
**edited comment**
btw, whose to say this Merc isn't a Master Pistoleer as well. I've had Mercs do Pistoleer specials on me (in fact one did a special worth 2k when I had bone armor...those were the days lol), so saying you should win because your a Master as well wont mean anything if he has the same skills as you.

Wow someone who can actually make a good arguement. I will say this though. Even if this guy is a master at X combat profession, that shouldn't happen for random spawn. These guys are noncomepoops (sp) who are hired to do someone's bidding. They're not elite anything. Supposedly a "master" title is as high as you can go in the game with that particular skill tree. I know that's not true because I had to take some BH skills as well. These random spawn should not have the skills to take me. I do have healing abilities, but those do no good if I get one-shotted.

Let me give you more background. On this particular day I was just exploring Lok. I saw a cool cave and thought I'd check it out. Before I got there, some mercs popped up. I wasn't buffed because I wasn't really looking for trouble. I'm a wookiee so armor is a bit hard to come by (yes I know there is armor).

I could be wrong, but isn't the color of the target figured by the level this thing is not how much HAM it has? Also, I would like to see the buff that lets me have 25k HAM. Someone was on here earlier talking about a stormie having 25K HAM? Just wondering.

I bet the devs dont even know how the color system is set up......but I think everyone is agreement its broken. How else would 20 Mercs in the Genosian lab con red to me but as a Master Teras Kasi I kill them all at the same time within a minute. Yes I was buffed, full armor, and Master of a Profession....but how can I kill red cons so easy? Its broken, the game doesnt know how to judge ham, armor and such. I believe the con system only looks at your highest skill level with the weapon you are using and compares it to the highest damage output of the mob (might also look at ham but why would it not look at mine if thats the case). So to the game I'm inferior but armor and buffs makes me superior, which is why you lost.

To give you an example of a mob with no name but is actually more powerful than a mob with a skill tag, look on Dantooine. There are forcemobs, most have tags up saying ForceXXX. However there are some that only have a generic namebut when you examine their stats they have Medium armor and 80% resists lol. Me thinks its a Jedi trying to bait dumb playersinto thinking he's somekind ofhillbilly. Needless to say when I attacked him, he forced lighting right up my arse (this was before the devs borked all the npc's to go TK when fighting).

Currently the way I judge the power of npc's, I look at ham, armor, resists. If it has medium armor or more than 15k ham, you better be buffed or a Rifleman/CM lol.

ok I'll give about Force people, but I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about those who are non-named and don't use the Force.

I think these guys were about 15% resistant and had no armor, but I might be wrong.

Sounds to me like you stumbled upon someone's BH mark... arent they yellow-dot, red-con and attackable by anyone now? I've seen them kill MBHs in 3 or 4 shots.

wrongo. I am a paying customer who is supposed to be playing the greatest story ever told.... mine. When I first started playing the game, I was under the imperession you could make your self ledgendary. Maybe not like Han or Boba Fett, but at least beable to kick some stormtrooper's butt. Common.

Well, that's advertising for you. I think by "Greatest story ever told...yours", they simply meant you could shape your own destiny in this game. If you took them literally, then that's thousands of people with the greatest story ever told, but only one person can have the GREATEST

Sort of like Red Bull....They say on the commercial that "It gives you wings". And drinking a can of that stuff and jumping out the second story window proved that it does NOT give me wings.

There should be a lot of things you have to run away from in this game when you aren't maxxed out on buffs and armor ... because there should also be things you have to run away from when you are maxxed on buffs and armor.

As Master Pistol/CH, there aren't many NPC's for me to run away from. Faction missions against a couple rebel generals & majors and their lackeys can be a challenge if I'm unbuffed and unlucky, but usually the right combination of food & brandy and the right cadre of pets and I can take down the toughest faction missions available without buffs ... they just take longer and I have to be more careful.

PvP is a different story .... there I live by the Pistoleer/CH motto .....

It's not really the fact that the NPC owned you. You probably could've killed him, but he just killed you faster. Either that or you just really suck at Pistoleer. If you're unbuffed your HAM is probably about 1000 or so. Your opponent on Lok probably has 10k HAM. One special shot from him and you're dead. I'm not surprised that he owned you in 3. Get novice medic. Your "Master" title doesn't make you invulnerable to getting hit in combat. It will allow you to deal more damage faster, and might make you less likely to be hit. My dodge modifier is maxed out and sometimes a mob will hit me 3 times in a row. It's all based on a dice roll.

I used to be like you. I was against buffs and armor. I thought that being a master you shouldn't have to get buffed and armored up just to go hunting, blah blah blah...But the simple fact is that buffs and armor will get you that loot and big xp that you want. Being unbuffed will get you killed. Without buffs, you'll kill yourself anyway just spamming specials. With buffs you can take out liars in an 8th of the time it takes without them. And that means you can make the money back a matter of minutes. And besides, when you're buffed, the game is a lot more fun because you don't have to worry about healing yourself every 4 seconds or getting hit by an uber special from that "lackey" NPC that will one shot kill you.

Ummm no kidding. You say lots of words and sound very important, but what you really just say is, "Man why don't you just get buffed and stop whining?" What I say to that is I will restate the point in simple terms for you. Non-named NPCs should NOT OWN ANY player with a MASTER combat title! It's that simple.

Like I said. The "lackey" simply killed you faster. He doesn't even need to be the master of a profession. All he needs is Pistoleer 0030 to kill you. Especially with no armor. One good stoppingshot and you're dead. And where does it state in the rules or EULA or storyline that "non-named NPC's" shouldn't be very hard for a master? Who cares if it has a name or not. If it's got 10k or 12k HAM, some resists, a good pistol (or whatever weapon he PWNED you with), and some specials, he can kill you all day long. I've never heard anything about non-named NPC's being easy to kill. We're not talking meatlumps on correlia. This is Lok. The only way you should be able to kill him without buffs and armor is the pu$$y way: 64m healthshot 1, healthshot2, /peace, run 99m away, let him come you to after he's bled a little bit, spam most powerful shot while kiting and hoping that he gets stuck on a harvester. No need to get hostile, man. You sound like those 13 year old UB3R template L33T PvP'ers that cry every time you manage to kill them. Get over it.
