I would be happy if disarm shot just cleared the attack queue of the person, in addition to damage.



No use in PvE, limited use in PvP, but for the person who relies on filling up the combat queue it would work nice. Better then just the grief abaility.


I guess you could be a combat medic/pistoller and just be a giefing machine.

ok, whats so hard about having a second or third weapon in your bag incase you get "disarmed" ?

Disarm should reduce the damage to 1-1 damage for a period of time. Damaging a weapon doesn't serve a purpose unless weapons speed/dmg degrades with durability like harvesters. If they make weapons degrade like harvesters diarm shot will rule.

SanTsu - Okay, once again you make ad hominum attacks. Instead of discussing the issue, you are arguing that you have a "right" to flame people who title threads in a certain manner (I'm not sure why you disklike the title unless you are alarmed at the word "greif" even when it is used in it's proper context), and who post threads on subjects that are for upcoming skills rather than skills existing in the game so far. I disagree with you because I do not think flaming is EVER constructive, and I don't think my post is poorly titled or misinformed.


The devs stated in the reply to the pistoleer correspondent that disarm shot is supposed to attack people's guns. I feel that this would be greifing, so my post's title and argument are based on this.


Perhaps it will barely do anything and be a useless skill for pistoleers (except for greifers), or perhaps it will be incredibly effective and cause more downtime than any other attack in the game. I beleive that would be detrimental to everyone and I think the suggestion of making the skill actually disarm an opponent instead of greifing them is excellent.


I don't think pistoleers who are in PAs that are anti-greif will get to use the skill, so I'm hoping they will fix it in a different way than they have stated.

Riflemen & BH's get to target the un healable mind pool, carbineers get to hit the action pool and we get to hit the "weapon". Oh please.....


PLease change this to something usefull. I have been disarmed in pve, had my weapon go back to my backpack so I had to re equip it.


If disarm shot worked like that it would be usefull. Otherwise change it to something else.

Dashiva - Yes. I want to see something useful for pistoleers for this skill too (and not greify), but pistoleers do the most damage to unarmored opponents by a large stretch. Additionally, the high speed and great efficieny (low HAM costs) make them perfect for using specials constantly. While the other marksman classes do have their strenghts, the pistoleers are by no means short changed.


Of course rifleman and bounty hunters ability to do mind damage make them uber in PvP, but the pistoleer is by far the best PvE class (maybe BH wins that too actually, but they do outstrip rifleman greatly).

ITs simple bean19 disarming shot does so little accually damage to the other players weapon that no one is going to use it. It is not a grieffer shot becuase it totally sucks.

Does it work yet?


From what I've read in dev posts, it does not appear to be functional yet. But that is one of my concerns. Either it will be useless (except for diehard greifers) or it will be uber and extremely greify.

Disarm 1 works and it does maybe 15 quality points of damage So if I was going to use it I could doaround 60 to 100 quality points of damage to your weapon before I would die from doing nothing else as you where shoting at me.100 from 1000 is not enoughttomake it usefull you would probable domore damage to your own weapon shooting me then i will using disarm.


Disarm 2 works as a AOE knockdown or it did I dont have it yet. You'll have to ask the master pistoleers that one Im just a Master smuggler

Having it go to inventory would be pretty much useless...if they know what they are doing they would put it in a hotbar slot and reequip it immediately. Therefore, we just used a turn to make them waste maybe less than a turn. That's WORSE than useless.


Damaging a weapon is useless in combat in pretty much any situation.


Can't be knockdown, cuz knockdown is already in the pistoleer tree.


So how about make it something different and interesting, like slow down the speed by a factor of 1.5 for 10 seconds or something. Or for a certain amount of turns. Would make rifleman think twice considering they'd be hit hardest by this. And it's something different.


Explanation for it? Ummm...the gun is too hot to handle for halfa minute. :-)
