Didnt bother to read all the post, just got novice pistoleer today and one hour 25 minutes later I was 0022, yes thats 400k xp in 85 minutes. Any faster?

If not here is what you do: Get 70% kinetic ubese, speed sliced republic blaster and speed sliced dx2 and some crate with brandy and many crates of damage powerups. Get doc buffs and go to dantooine and do quenkers/savage quenker missions.

Usedisarm shoton the lair (or kip-up shot until you get double tap) with the republic blaster to make the lair spawn more mobs. then just spam pointblankarea1/fan shotwith the dx2.. yes that right, stand(or run with fan shot)in the middle of 6-10 savage quenkers and spam AoE attack.

For refrence, my RB with dmg powerup: 2.0 spd, 75-265 dmg , my dx2 with powerup: 1.7 spd 120-213 dmg.

And do missions from a player city, as the distances you have to travel ismuch shorter.

summary: ubese + brandy + buffs + savage quenkers + pointblankarea1/fan shot

PS! I am a newb pistoleer, but a veteran SWG player

PPS! Will try and see if fan shot is faster when I get that special, its an AoE is it not?

Update: When I got Fan shot I tested a bit with that skill instead of pointblankarea. Well, its a bit more work, since you have to run to get the savage quenkers in the same cone, but the numbers speak for itself, the last 850k pistol xp I needed for master I got in 2hours

You guys say you have been using Ubese, do buffs counter well on the encumberance? Or do you use stat migration--say to up your Constitution if you are healing slow while wearing it?

To break it up so its not too much of a grind, go to Rori and do Ravenous Torton missions. Easy, 'bout 4-5k HAM, usually 2 at the lair when you get there, not social, spawn abou three or four more per lair, and give decent xp, remember being somewhere near 3-4k per. Only problem is that you won't get many per mission, so this is for the less "grind of the grind".Don't really need buffs nor armor, but make sure you're grouped with a pet or droid for group bonus. PMD1 usually sticks on them so they go down faster, and they don't have many resists to worry about. A good scout or republic will do you good here.

My experence....I was 2/2/4/2 when i tried this and made it to master in a couple of days...im NOT a
hardcore gamer did a 2 1/2 of hours a day.

Get buffed from doctors and have plenty of brandy (hopefully you have good comp armor) Get a DX2 pistol ACID damage rules on Dath.

Head to dath.....goto the northern city and head to the base of the nighsister mountain.

Kill:
Gaping spider hunters
Those lizard things (snappers) (not the disease ones)
KWI Hunters
Rancors (if there is only one or two)

You should get anywhere between 4.5K-5K per kill yes i have gotten that. I found xp on dath to be way better than any other planet.

What im doing is going to Dathomir and hunting Giant Baz Nitches. Big group solo missions, Ubese armor, Doctor buffs, Brandy, DX2, 60,000+xp per lair.

Go join a nice size group if you can and head to Dathomir by yourself. Grab 2 Giant Baz Nitch lairs and head out. Im gettting 4 Giant Baz Nithces at a time each giving anywhere from 4500xp to 5000xp depending on the size of the group. The lair spawns 3 sets of 4 and the lair itself gives 4500 to 5000xp also. These lairs are easy and can be taken out rather quickly. They do not have disease, poison or anything really damaging with good armor. They do have death blow however, but you will never see your health dip far enough down so that they can use it. I have shot through Pistoleer with this new found knowledge and hope to start my TKA training soon.

bring a friend who is a high level CH to dantoine imp outpost. get missions for bols, and pikets of any type. have tyour friend tank while you stand back and use area attacks form marksman tree, or bs2. ( was much easier when bleeds actualyl did damage) and just repeat this over and over. i did this two out of the three times i masterd pistoleer. on an average of about 300k xp/hour. the way i mastered the first time, was by pistol whipping baz nitches before they were socially aggro creatures ( which was also before there was a knockdown delay)

Example (on how to earn as much xp as possible)

The key is to attack as many enemies as possible, at the same time (marksman: point blank area 1).

Mind around 800

Focus Max

Willpower Max

Action/Health and sub stats Minimum.

Use doctor's buffs

...use doctor's buffs.

And ubese or composite.

...& point blank area 1

With point blank area 1, draw the following conclusion: more enemies at the time = more xp per time unit. Sojoin a high leveled group (at-st) to get more enemies per lair..

With a little patience you'llreach 0040, where you can use fanshot instead. Then you'll hafta take it from there youself.

for pve

get Giant Baz mission on dath. (its prefered to get doctor's buffs, but not nessisery. prefered to use a good 70%+ kinetic - ubese suit.)

1) if you want to play it safe,

have range support 1 only, (thats only 300 combat xp so any1 can get it) use any shot and while running away from baz, use threaten shot. that way you will havea way to make the baz stop for while when you are running from it. shoot it with your best dmg shot, 1st use overcharge, then use disarm shot, then use double and stopping,

DONT USE FAN SHOT unless you want EVERY critter around running after you.

2) if you want to play it big on xp,

get tech 4 b4 doing this tactic (0-0-4-0) so you will have fan shot, -Doc buffs are must, and -70% kinetic ubese suit is a must.

use fan shot when you are fairly far away from lair. aim at the lair only, from 30m - run to the lair pass it till u'll be again 30m from it, then while the baz would run back and forth from you to the lair and back, (to try and heal the lair) all the while shoot them with fan shot, try to hit as many as posible. soon enough you will spawn the next 2 waves, having up to 9 giant baz nitch on you. at that point switch to one of the targets, run away, (in big circles so you will not lose the lair) fire fan shot continuesly at the baz nitches, hitting as many as posible - and BURST RUN!!! get enough distance from them so you will hit everyone of them.

(9 is not that much) make sure to have booster blue (spice) and eat some good foods as well. (like dmg reducing and ham reducing foods) also neutron pixies are good pick if your health bar would drop. but since its fanshot, and since our specials are action based, booster blue is best choise.

kill all 9.- get tons of xp - this would get you about 5k per baz x 9 + 5k for lair, total of 50k xp!!!

all this with a good gun- in under 2 min!!!!!!!!

once you have this tactic mastered, do it over and over, increase your dodge (grips)1st, then your marksmanship, and all the while your speed (stances).

the more you will level you will hit more per shot, and will dodge more per hit on you. things would become easier.

*** for the realy dearing.

+must go with a friend who will tank for you - melee combat class is best choise, or good CH pet.

+must have fan shot - get all buffs, get stun layer armor, get Dx2 weapon. (you must have fan shot)

go to yavin4, visit the geo-caves.

at the right wall from the entrance, lay prone, 3 crazed geonicians will spawn, shoot them all with fan shot.

with fast gun, you will get about 4k+ for ever 2 sec!!! you will get master in no time. (btw this mathod works great for carbineer and rifle as well with the matching shots)

hope this helps a bit.

Im wondering what the CURRENT state of pistol/fencer is and if we really have until at least April for defense stacks to get nerfed

finally someone that has a brain......pistoleer is easy to master as a second time master i did it in 2 days(the second time) on yavin 4.....this was used as a secondary profesion behind master fencer...and i was the tank so no need for pets or anyone else....kill everything that moves ....get as much speed as possible as fast as u can ...the dodge tree is extremly useful ...u end up doing more damage to yourself then the mobs do....as far as one at a time thats not the ticket for fast lvling of pistoleer ...the more mobs the merrier....now one note if u r coming up the tree for the first time i would recommend high kinetic resist armor ..never fight without buffs and by all means EAT EAT EAT ......and grouping will make things a little slower but u will tend to stay alive much longer...and dont be afraid to shot something that cons red to ya.....cant never tell till ya try lol .....

jedur said You guys say you have been using Ubese, do buffs counter well on the encumberance? Or do you use stat migration--say to up your Constitution if you are healing slow while wearing it?

why in this target your mind game would u ever want to migrate any stat up other then ALL 3 mind stats ??? there r to many docs buffing to worry about stat migrating anything but mind....jack your mind to the max that u can ...and never go anywhere without a doc buff...takes a little getting used to but once uve done it for a while u get used to it and u will find that its well worth it.....btw incase your wondering my unbuffed stats r.....health,action and related secondaries r all at 400 mind is 1050 focus 850 willpower 1100 and wouldnt trade it for anything until i can heal my own mind with some type of stim ....and as far as healing slowly ....no medic skills that your bad....cant live without meds..although some do they rely on others for heal and thats death to many solos....

Actually this should still work. It was for me as of last week at least. The trick is to go prone. If prone you can get off two or three shots before the social MOBs notice you. So if you fire one bleed and immediately peace you should be ok. Though you'll have until the first tick (20 seconds?) to pull back out of BAF range.

I can confirm this still works. I did it last night in endor. I forget what freakin animals they were now but they look like big giraffs? Anyways the mission had like 15 spawns around it and I could pick them off using the /mask /prone /bleed thing. Then i would get up cancel my attack, run to 80m and wait for the creature to attack. I did this and made about 120k xp on that lair alone.

On another note, I don't know why anyone would want to use fanshot on more than one creature at at a time. Allthough the other creatures will get damage while you kill yours, you will not get the xp for that damage. When you go to kill the other creatures the xp is much less. (as if someone else was shooting them)
