I think it's gonna be schematic. The Combat Revamp will introduce new schematics, with same weapons having different schematic for a different type of skill.Schematic certificates, I guess, instead of weapon certificates.(At least that's how I understand this.)So it makes sense that there would be a special schematic certificate at Master Pistoleer for a pistol, which will simply have double-wield animation. It would be awesome ifthat schematic could use already existing pistol, and would require the original weapomsmith master to modify it into double-wield version of the original. Kinda like lightsabers, where you built new saber by using the old one.

When people say that dual-wields would give pistoleers too much power if pistols shot at their full strength, consider this:

Current riflemen hitting.

HAM usage.

As it is, it's not that hard for an unbuffed pistoleer to drain an action pool. (I'm Zabrack and have all my action stuff maxed.) Think just how fast *two* pistols, even at full damage, would drain your action pool. Sure, you're shooting twice as strong...at twice the cost.

Oh, and I think an accuracy modifier should come into play for dual-wielders, too.

dual pistols should just be a skill that a master pistoler should just get for mastering the prof

or bounty hunter should get a jet pack not a bike

command should get a laser chaine gun

all that would be great but the devs ant doing nothing.

heheh

I think I've gotta disagree about a Jetpack....I just don't think it would work in this game. And besides, bounty hunters getting a jetpack is pretty much saying that since two bounty hunters in star wars have jetpacks all of them should.

Besides, they'd be unfair....imagine the poor melee fighter...not only are they getting kited, but they are getting kited from the air lol.

Heh....A Jetpack could be used to get into a private house....Just go up to the roof then waltz right in

The lazer chain gun sounds like a neat idea though...

If dual weilding pistols is useful it should be certified in the marksman branch like most of pistoleers useful skills are

dual pistols in marksman?

um no.....

its make no sense, to use two pistols effectively you gotta be fairly good with the gun (i dont count pistols 4 in amrksman good with the gun).

I say M Pistoleer and MBH should have the ability. so as to get rid of dabblers who jsut want this. Yes, I said MBH not BH pistol IV I detest BH dabblers sorry guys, I know alot of you do for the pistol skills. I was a MBH at one time. Anyways.

Dual pistol shold be ONLY for M Pistoleer, BH already have enough of an advantage with rifle, pistol, carb and lightning. Dual pistol would give pistoleers and much stronger standing in the game.

Are the Devs thinking about dual pistols? It would make the profession a lot more appealing to people.

Why would the devs want to make this profession more appealing? It's already the #1 profession.

We don't have time to discuss this in a committee.

Its the number one profession due to dodge stacking (will be fixed soon). Not that many actually master it (not sure if im right ehre tho). Pretty sure soon either rifleman or tk will be the most popular.

If it is the number 1 profession why do I have to travel light years to train higher level skills? Oh that's right everyoneare dabblers. Dabblers don't put pistoleer names above their head and dabblers don't consider themselves pistoleers...so players aiming to master pistoleer don't count them as pistoleers just like tkm's don't count 4004 tka trained players as tka.

Everyone with medic in order to use stim-b's are not medics. Everyone with a little scout to run up hills and pop tents out are not scouts.

I think the end all be all for duel weilding should be that it is more show than effect. It should be about making a choice between high volume laser spam or slower morepowerful shots. Itmakes a whole lot of players happy and adds to the game. It would single handedly attract new players to the game. Duel wielding is one of the numberone interests for many players on boards before games go beta or live. Just visit any morg boards and browse through combat professions (especialy rogue'ish classes).

As for someone saying that duel weilding is not realistic? Starwars is a high adventure story and a high adventure roleplaying game. It has nothing to do about realism and everything to do about fun and cool.

jus in cas ethat last post was directed at me...

nothing against dabblers at all (hell i am a tk/fencer dabbler), just stating that many are pisotleer for the dodge alone.

an never said dual pistols were unrealistic overall, just unrealistic to be put in marksman (should be a pistoleer skill).

ug my head hurts, need sleep....

First, the positive..if it were to work, ie. code and graphics and all that, I think there wil need to be a new weapon schematic for dual pistols. Having too different weapons might be too hard, but having one weapon that is shown to be dual-wielded might work. That way there would be no issues with different speeds, energy type, damage, etc.

Now for the negative..where is the precedent for dual wield in the movies? As much I would love to have them, I have been wracking my brain for a SW character in the movies or books who used twin blasters at the same time. Han was about the closest thing to a shootist and he only used one blaster. Many of the bounty hunters and shootists in SW carried additional weapons, but as backups..never to be used at the same time. And the myth of the old Western ambidextrous shootist with twin guns blazing is based on myth. John Wesley Hardin, disputedly the best shootist in the West, carried two holsters sewn to a vest with the pistol butts pointed inward to his chest, but one served as backup.

Dual-wield is more a creation of the RP/D&D evolved game world. Might work in RP, but with SW doe snot fit..not matter how much I want it to fit myself.

Besides...would rather have them fix what they got besides adding new things.
