I left out my regards to your post about defense =P

Any of you tried PvP when you've got Pistol 4 in the BH tree?I highly doubt you have, cause if you have, you'll knwo that defense doesn't mean anything. My friend and I were testing this yesterday. We dueled using the same weapons. FWG5 40-175 with a 2.1 spd. He challenged me, so I got the advantage of first shot. I used 1 fanshot. That was the only shot I fired off during that duel. In the meantime, he had done Pistol 4 in the BH tree, so he had crazy speed mods. He got off 2 torsoshots. I was dead in 2 shots. Honestly, if he has an extra +10 ranged defense, it wouldn't matter much since I don't even get to hit him twice.

That's another complaint of mine, duels are too fast, but i'll leave that for another thread.

I am going to say something further... BH Pistol Spec I - IV requires a grand total of what 14 skill points(not including novice BH).... the pistoleer tree requires 56 skill points(not including novice or master).... DO YOU REALIZE THAT PISTOLEERS HAVE OVER 4 TIMES THE REQUIRE SKILL POINTS THEN BH AND YET THEY ARE INFERIOR TO BH?????????? Even if you say they are close its TOTAL BULL.... b/c now the BH can learn CARBINE and own a CARBINEER and same with their LIGHTNING RIFLE.... HELLLOOO... this isnt rocket science... the BH is the best class in the game hands down! (except jedi... unconfirmed) ..... they are not a specialist profession such as pistoleer they are a HYBRID... it is like the jack of all trades... it is good across the board but certainly should NOT be superior at a skill then one who has become specialist or elite.

LordJunior, add up how many points it takes to master Scout and Marksmen. Then count how many points it takes to get pistol specialization. (The prereqs for BH and pistoleer respectively) If you selectively want to count points okay, count how much stuff you get from -1- point of master pistoleer, and you can pick any box on BH you want and compare points there. Point is that you cannot count only the upper skills and ignore all the prerequisites.

Please read what you are typing before you press submit, a BH can learn pistol + carbine + rifle, guess what, you can master Pistoleer + Carbineer + Half of the rifle tree. How exactly are you determining what is "better"? Modifiers?Speed? Accuracy? Skills?I want to know. Your method of reasoning is baffling to say the least. Can you also try to post in coherent sentences? It makes it much easier to read.... don't you agree.... the dots are annoying huh.... SO ARE CAPS.

Draegeyou are almsot starting to scare me with your idiocy with some of this...

First off I got a question.... how in the WORLD DID YOU COME UP WITH ... "(minus kneeling/prone, which doesn't happen in pvp anyway)."Ok that was really stretching it this time... kneeling is VERY common in pvp especially when its a imp raid vs a rebel raid.... you got two sides confronting each other and more often then not they will KNEEL to gain accuracy... ive even seen a pistol fighter kneel up close to insure that better hit so you saying that kneeling is not a part of PvP truly shows that either you havent experimented with pvp very much or you are just ignoring added benefits to it.... now against melee professions thats a different story.

Dumb crack about it? I would have to say that you using failed/distorted logic by saying that masterng scout and marksman entitles the BH to become better then specialized professions. Hear me out on this...

Lets take abetter comparion that I used a little bit ago... I used the examine of a Navy Seal and a Sniper. Lets say that a Bounty Hunter is similar to that of a Navy Seal. They are very good at certain things. Now a Sniper can be related to that of a Sniper(yes sniper has more range hehe).

CRAP sent it by accident... oh well...

Ok so lets see here... the sniper is extremely deadly at using sniper rifles b/c thats what he has been trained SPECIFICALLY to do... does he know how to use other weapons? Yes he does but is he as good? NO... now for the Navy Seal... hand him a sniper rifle and tell him to shoot at 1,000 yards at a moving target... can he? probably not... can the sniper? yes? Can the sniper effectively breach a house? No not nearly as good as the navy seal. Now this is just like the BH vs the Pistoleer. Using a pistol there is no way that a BH should be able to beat a pistoleer now is there? No he shouldnt be able to. So why does the BH have more accuracy and more speed then a pistoleer? The pistoleer should be better across the board in pistol then the BH pistol specialization.

Aerius I am sorry my methods of typing offend you. Hey I cant please everyone, now can i? So how about we just forget about the proper grammar and move on.

Aerius one thing, prove to me how SCOUT helps a person become faster with a weapon or perhaps more accurate? Perhaps making a camp helps? Or maybe harvesting 101 helps? Maybe terrain negotiation helps you become more accurate? BEING SCOUT HELPS TRACK NOT HELPS FIRE OR AIM, thats the best reasoning I can come up with.

How about you try to read what you type before you send it? As i said before, the BH is superior in pistol skills then a pistoleer... more accuracy and speed classifies as superior... now i havent checked but I assume the same goes for both CARBINE and LIGHTNING RIFLE(its a rifle it counts as rifle). If you had read my posts explaining that BH has more accuracy and more speed then you wouldnt need to mindlessly hit that submit button asking me, " How exactly are you determining what is "better"? Modifiers?Speed? Accuracy? Skills?I want to know. " So when you tell me that my arguments are baffling I certainly must say that you are quite mistaken, you are baffling for making accusations before reading all the posts. Next time try to READ(oh hey.. was that in all caps? my bad)

I'm the idiot? Stop deluding yourself. Your arguements hold no ground at ALL. A completely irrelavent ONE point of speed above pistoleers and you claim BHs are "superior." Slightly (if even noticeable at all) higher accuracy inONLYONE of several combat situations and you claim BHs are "superior." Then after I correct yourutterly ignorant statement on BHs only needing 14 skill credits to be as good as a pistoleer you make up some real life crud to reinforce it? <-- LOL!

You know what, you're right. It's obvious your logic is far greater than mine. So we should probably go cut BH accuracy and speedby 4, remove all their specials, and take away the scatter pistol because I mean hey, they only require 1/4 the exp we do right? Who cares that they had to spend 154 skill credits on master marksman/scout as a prerequisite! Who needs balance?! Hogwash I say! On with the unneeded nerfage!

You sure studied up on the BH tree didn't you? The Bounty Hunter uses the Light Lighting Cannon, not the Lighting Rifle, and it is a heavy weapon as you would know if had taken to time to look.

Ok so I wrote the name of the rifle down wrong... O-M-G... sue me...

I make up real life stuff? No I find illustrations to compare work to. Difference, big difference.

Hey I am right... hey I like that... thanks... I knew i was right... (/sarcasm off... :: error sarcasm was never on: And if you mean balance by saying that the BH should be superior in ALL WEAPONS(just some instances... overall accuracy is greater by a FRIGGIN 15... forget moving or non moving its OVERALL that is better)... so the BH is better @ pistol, carbine, and light lightning cannon(ok there i got the name right... god what a critical error there... geez let it go)

I am not saying remove their specials. A BH is supposed to be deadly. I also think that the specials OWN that the BH has, which is good. I never said to remove specials so stop over doing yourself and stop assuming. I am simply saying that the specialised profession should be better then one that is a hybrid profession... is that asking too much? I dont think so

Ungh, this thread is so childish. Therefore, I am going to run through the numbers once and for all, and post them here. Let others decide what is "better". Note, this argument is only based on pistols, not other weapons, as I have no experience with them.

Master Bounty Hunters

  • Acess to a pistol that the pistoleer does not have access to (Scatter Pistol)

  • +50 Pistol Speed +60 Pistol Accuracy (only +50 Accuracy if not master)

  • Ranged Defense +7

  • Ability to specifically target the Mental or Health Pools with a Pistol (Eye Shot, Torso Shot)

  • Ability to cause Bleeding with a Pistol (Bleeding Shot)

Master Pistoleers

  • Acess to a pistol that the Bounty Hunter does not have access to (DX2)

  • +45 Accuracy +49 Speed +30 Dodge +16 Aiming +20 Accuracy While Moving +20 Defense vs Stun, Blind, Dizzy, Downward Posture Change and Knockdown +13 Melee Defense +15 Accuracy While Standing +10 Ranged Defense

  • Ability tospecifically target only the Health Pool (Body Shot 3)

  • Ability to cause Bleeding (Health Shot 2)

  • Ability to target multiple monsters at point blank range (Point Blank Area 2)

  • Ability to target monsters at point blank range (Point Blank Single 2)

  • Ability to Knockdown (Pistol Melee Defense 1 & 2)

  • Ability to cause massive untargetted damage (Double Tap, Stopping Shot, Fan Shot)

  • Ability to Disarm (bugged at this time andas such currently useless- Disarm Shot 1 and 2)

  • Ability to attack multiple enemies at range (Multi-Target Pistol Shot)

Marsksman Pistol Skill Tree and NoviceMarksman- Both Classes Have This

  • +50 PistolAccuracy +25Pistol Speed + Ranged Defense

  • Ability to target multiple monsters at point blank range (Point Blank Area 1)

  • Ability to target monsters at point blank range (Point Blank Single 1)

  • Ability to cause bleeding (Health Shot 1)

  • Ability to specifically target health pool (Body Shot 2)

  • Ability to fire while changing postures (Dive Shot, Kick Up Shot, Roll Shot)

Master Marksman - Bounty Hunter WILL have Pistoleer CAN have (not counting above Pistol Skill Tree and Novice Marksman)

  • +30 General Ranged Aiming (assuming this also applies to pistols) +8 Ranged Defense, +10 Pistol Accuracy, +5 Pistol Speed.

  • Ability to cause downward posture change (Supression Fire)

  • Ability to cause monsters to run away (Warning Shot)

  • Ability to change postures quickly(Tumble to Kneeling, Prone, Standing)

The comparisons speak for themselves. Pistoleers certainly have MORE skills and abilities when it comes to a pistol. Their skills and abilities are far more spread out, and are not as specialized as the bounty hunter. If you want, you can take up a master marsksmanship as well and gain even more bonuses. The bounty hunter has more base accuracy and has more speed, there is no arguing that. However, if the accuracy while standing and moving stack, the pistoleer then has more and is only losing 1 point of speed to the bounty hunter - cry me a river. Also - please note that if you REALLY want to be uber with a pistol, simply take both the BH pistol skill tree and become a master pistoleer - which is what I am probably going to do (note - this leave you with almost no other skill points -15 I believe). However, if your argument is that the Pistoleer should have more of EVERYTHING and be able to diversify as well, then I will not support that argument - you simply cannot have your cake and eat it too. However, if you also want to count the general ranged aiming, then the BH will have more, in which case, just go get ranged support abilities (I have them). Anyways, on another note, I am a pistoleer, and generally happy with the skill tree. I do believe that eye shot is a bit unfair, but I can certainly live with that. Also, I do not believe that either the commando or bounty hunter should have access to a pistol that the pistoleer does not have access to. I hope my post can put an end to this debate.
