Thread: Disarming Shot no longer deals additional damage to lairs in Publish 9
The good news is that /fanshot fires faster, and does 50% more damage to lairs than /ds1 did before the publish.
That's with a 2.4 speed, 260 damage (no powerup) republic balster = /ds1 did 200-1000, /fs does 350 - 1500

Just a thought Rand, but instead of asking to get them to put it back how it was, how about ask them to make it do what it was supposed to? Like you said, they had time to change it for nerf, but not "fix" it. I mean damn, at least just rename it to, YARHS (Yet Another Random Ham Special)

TH says he forwarded iton to the team, and that this would have made a perfect 19 Questions. I told him I agree, but made sure he understood I'm not in the habit of sitting on an issue for 2-3 weeks for something like that to just roll around... I think he just meant to say that this kind of question would work well, not this specific case. New issues will always be reported as they surface.
LOL Do you see what he is setting us up for though? OK so we ask about some combat-special thing or other. And what does he say? "well you just have to wait for the combat rebalance to see how that will be taken care of" Dude Rand don't let him weasel out of actually "thinking" of real answers. Please.
If he wants us to ask that kind of stuff fine. "Disregarding the CB and any and all changes happening in it, why are some of our specials not working as described? Why does stopping shot not stop anything? Why does disarming shot not do anything of the like? Why does PMD2 not work at all? Why does HS2 work way better then BS3? Why does the MASTER special of Multi target pistol shot not really work or seem at all worth it to use it."

Oh it's true. I've been doing NOTHING but solo'ing 38k Enraged Rancor lairs all week. (Also note that the ER lair HPs have dropped from 64k to @55k)
I use a speed sliced + powerup'd DX-2 for the beasties, and switch to the Republic Blaster above for the lairs (to save the DX-2's condition). I'm a ex-Master Pistoleer (last July-August) and am just now picking it up again. I'm 0/1/4/3 Pistoleer, Master Doctor (dropping all of it in the next week or 2), Novice Smuggler, Novice TKA.
I would EXCLUSIVELY use /ds1 for my lair bashing (the DPS was slightly better than just firing regularly). Then came the publish. Suddenly I was only hitting for 200-500 on lairs. "BAH!
As I was adjusting my hotkeys around, I swapped where /fanshot and /ds1 were located and continued on my race for Rancor genocide.
As I cleared the second set for spawns for a lair (there's the initial, existing spawn and then you take a shot at the lair to pop the next), I started in my old technique of /ds1 /ds1 /ds1 /ds1 /ds1 /ds1 to kill the lair.
I was hitting for 800-1300 and my combat que read /fanshot /fanshot /fanshot /fanshot /fanshot /fanshot /fanshot.
I'm no newbie. I know the points that lairs will pop more spawns. I also don't have an issue with the weapon switch delay (95% PLANNED and PRACTICED PvE missions), so I had ample opprotunities to SAFELY use /fanshot and /disarmingshot1 on lairs thru last night.
I never hit the lair for more than the high 500's with /ds1, and topped at just over 1500 with /fanshot. ONLY USING the Republic Blaster.
Fanshot was @30-40% faster in cycling as well. And since I cant really use it for high-end PvE (random HAM damage, I still use /healthshot2...

Yes I am a Pistoleer that is almost completely PvE. I must like pain. /shrug

Any feedback from TH or "the team"on this? Surely, it can't be too difficult to answer the question, "Did you stealth nerf Disarming Shot 1 & 2, and, if so, why?"
