I'm sorry but am I the only one here who sees the irony in this special that was supposed to damage an opponents weapon (it never did nor should have as it is a griefer's dream) being "fixed" so that it now degrades our weapons instead. What I mean is when we go out and do PvE or faction missions we'd used this special with it's multiplier to shoot our way through lairs/bases with our low damage weapons. Now that this has been "fixed" we get to stay longer shooting at that same lair using more condition on our pistols meaning they break faster.
I mean come on: so much of our crap that doesn't and has never worked "as intended". Now the only little edge we had in PvE (please name something we get in PvP, please) is revoked for whatever reason. I tend to agree with whoever posted that this is something to do with jedi. Let's face it, everything else in this godforsaken game is.
I'd really love to see a developer come on these forums and tell me exactly why they do half of the stuff they do and for whom. I enjoy(ed) this game so much but the more they tweak it the closer my cursor is moving toward the "Cancel" button.

Guys, this wasn't an INTENDED effect ... more like an accidental side effect of impletmenting lightsaber damage.

again, doesn't matter what the intention was, only the outcome...if they'd stop stroking jedi so hard and pay attention to the majority of the playerbase, not to mention star wars continuity, this, and many other ridiculous problems could have been avoided...

Of course the paranoid cynical view vould be that they broke something to give us something to yell about in our next 19 questions chance, thereby removing the possibility of any relevant or NEEDED question we might ask about that they have no intention of addressing.
"They're asking about what their supposed role in the game is! I think they're serious this time! They've asked it twice now! Quick! Break one of their broken specials and distract them! That'll buy us a month!"
Oh well... At least it wasn't intentional. One more free space in my hotbar... Still.. yet another useless part of being a pistoleer. *sigh* Considers City of Heroes again. I hate to ditch Star Wars Galaxies, but if at least 3/4 of the broken specials are not fixed completely in the combat balance after all the hype and default answers regarding it, I'm off.
Of course... The Bounty Hunters having their requirement Skill Points dropped now have nothing to smack us with argument wise. Aren't they the ones that were constantly saying, 'Oh Pistoleers aren't supposed to be as formidible as us anyway, cos we spend lots more points for our profession!"? They're just as valid a profession as we are now! *insert simpsons HA-HA here*

/emote smacks forhead against desk repeatedly
Yee gods! What are they like!?
Can anyone confirm that the speed multiplier on fanshot has been increased? if this is the case, it might be a suitable trade off for disarm1, if not, why do they persist in kicking us while we're down? not just that, at each and every further step we fall!
With three scout trees being dropped form the BH requirements, I'm very tempted to drop master pistoleer and get the BH pistol tree instead.

I'd like to know if something can be addressed inone of the upcoming mini-publishes or if these two specials (ds2 being a godsend for lair busting and chasing players fleeing in vehicles with a lucky dismount warp and a disarm shot 2) will lose their lair busting, structure blasting, vehicle disabling loveliness until Publish 11, at least two months.
I hope we get a beneficial fix of some kind as a matter of proirity, whether it be putting DS1 and 2 back as they were pre pub 9, giving DS2 back its 64m ranged KD or implementing something new and useful.

I must be insane then, I used disarming shot all the time last night on lairs and did see double dmg. Plus it was never broke people, its description was wrong, but the special worked. I really wish everyone complaining about broken specials would start to be more specific. It may not work the way it is described, or maybe redundant or not superior to other specials, but they are not borke.
I did see a bit of a reduction in overall pistol dmg this week compared to before, perhaps that is making people think teh disarm shot 1 was broken. But as of teh evening of July 1, 2004. It was giving me the 2x multiplier on lairs.

Strange, but last night my combat tab was showing the same damage for ds2 on a lair that the damage numbers were.

Have you ever tried a differerent combat profession where the specials do exactly what it says on the tin?
Is MTPS working then, how about PMD2?
I've no idea if the damage to lairs/structures/vehicles modifier on Disarm Shot 1 and 2 was ever intended, probably not, but that classes as broken in that without the damage modifier ds1 would be a slow random HAM shot and DS2 a slow fanshot, which is what we have now.
If you want specifics, have a read of Randonb's sticky State of the Pistoleer Specials post.
Tell you what though, you're talking about DS1, cant say I tested that last night.
