Look at stopping shot . its description si to incap with one shot .does it do it ? nope . does it have a powerfull shot ? hardly when you think of the costs and time it really isnt any better than double tap . incapping with one shot seems to me like it should be a KD , but im just a thinker . All we have are random ham shots with no state effects , does that sound balanced ? anyone comeing in here to tell me not to complain you can kiss my @#$ fix whats broke dont nerf the **edit** out of everything

do any of you have the strategy guide for this game? i have it, and if you look at the special moves table, under disarmingshot 2, it says it has a cone attack (AOE) and knockdown. its right there in the book. oh, the game doesn't say it, so it must be wrong you say? well, go look under the commando tree. it states that commandos make their own explosives. it also states that someone with flamethrower specialization should be avoided at all costs. both of those aren't true. but it says so in the game, it must be true. see how flawed that thinking is? this isn't for you pistoleers out here mad about the changes. this is for that guy who thinks everyone is crying because they took away something that was supposed to be a move of ours (according to the strategy guide).

There must be 50 threads here that all end up talking about how Pistoleers are not the true masters of their weapon, and that the pistol skills gained have no real effects.

What I want to know is :

Are the Devs that arelooking at this agreeing that a Master Pistoleer should be the best person in the game to hold a pistol in his hands?

If not then why ever become a master if you are not really going to be a master?

I just want to know where the profession is headed before I spend any more time on it. I want my character to be a Master with a Pistol. If that means I have to be a bounty hunter, well, I think it is stupid but thats where I will go. However, if the Devs get some sense about themselves and decide to make Elite Combat professions truly ELITE, then I will go with Pistoleer.

All boils down to the simple fact that the game was 6 months from being ready for release, not because it had bugs, but because the design was incomplete and in need of A LOT of refining. Great job SOE, next time listen to the Devs and the testers.

Low blow is much better than panic shot in its current incarnation. The delay on panic shot is huge. It lasts for like 5 seconds, and has a 3 second cooldown and has high ham costs. You also dont get the dmg bonus from panic shot that you do from KD.

The advantages of panic shot are overstated, but its only fair that it gets the same nerf as KD.

Once the knockdown nerf goes through, gaining experience is going to slow down dramatically for everyone (other than riflemen who will still be going around soloing krayts and jedi knights).

Allesandra, you are the most uninformed person I have ever seen on these boards. Become a novice rifleman and see if you can kill anything tougher than a bantha. Retards... so many retards...

Allesandra you are an idiot and obviously have no clue about riflemen, but by all means please do tell how rifle men can solo krayts, I think alot of riflemen would love to know.

Panic shot has already been nerfed.

Second, having both a knock down and panic shot means you've already gotten most other professions beat. They only have a knock down.

If panic gets nerfed it simply means you'll use both. Right now, I only use panic because in terms of damage per HAM spent, nothing beats panic. Why hit one target when you can hit 8 at a time?

How was panic nerfed? HAM costs? Great, now a smuggler with any brains can panic me with a scout instead of their DX2 or FWG5, and I still can't shoot back.

I support the KD nerfs. It's vastly overpowered to prevent a player from attacking for the remainder of their life. Too badthey forgot to put a timer on panic, because it really needs one.

Sigh, when I wrote that comment about rifleman and soloing, I knew I shouldn't have posted it, but I was feeling really, really bothered about the nerfs coming my way. In any case, I didn't post anything that wasn't true. It just takes a different strategy to solo those monsters. You can't just go prone, mind bleed, mind shot, mind shot, etc, and hope to kill the target before it reaches melee range. I have a rifleman friend who is almost a master who I've seen solo jedis and he's told me about taking down krayts. He has a dozen krayt scales, at least, so it's not a one time exploit.

I won't say anymore since it's now apparent to me that it's not common knowledge and I'd prefer that every rifleman doesn't start soloing these things and end up being nerfed even further. Anyways, it's still far better to solo normal monsters for experience. It's not worth the extra effort and risk to go after jedis and krayts.

I am well aware of the problems in the rifleman class and I really do hope that the riflemen profession gets some fixes coming their way. I just hope my profession gets fixed sooner!

I do want to add...

Unfortunately, as every pistoleer knows, once my disarmingshot2 is taken away and knockdown is nerfed, there isn't much left for the master pistoleer. My pvp will consist of a mix of fan shot and body shot 2, with the occasional bleed. Against a master doctor or someone with doctor buffs, all I can do is spam fanshot and hope for some lucky mind hits. PMD1 is basically useless since melee's don't really pvp. PMD1 isn't even that useful for PvE either since I'll be back to using the marksman strategy of warningshot pingponging to kill anything. I'm glad I don't have to earn millions of pistol experience without having knockdown. We really need a lot more special attacks with status effects and area attacks to make combat more challenging and skill based.

Sigh. I just hope the developers realize just how bland and completely strategy-less the pistoleer profession will become and will start thinking of ways to make our profession more enjoyable. The pistol just fits my character's persona and I want to change, but unfortunately, playing a gimped profession is just not that fun. Yet, changing professions is a risky idea since there is no guarantee that the new profession won't get nerfed to totally gimpdom either.

How was panic nerfed?

  • Increased HAM cost.

  • Increased delay.

  • Cone effect

Beats me why cone effect was a nerf but I love it. Wish they'd nerf last ditch in the same way. I need more cone pistol effects.

Alessandra is right about what she said concerning rifleman soloing huge monsters

I have stumbled upon a few doing it ...watched then looked at my chat log and saw the shots they were using and was impressed.

But then again i go more the 1500 meters away from town on a regular basis and run into some very experenced people out there doing some very interesting things i might add.

It seems to me there are Rifleman ..even masters who dont know what they can do
