Go rifleman. Quit complaining about the imbalance as though you were born a pistoleer. Your profession isn't on par with racial inequality or gender bias. Don't act like you are being personally persecuted for who you are when things are well within your control to change. If you want the goodies from rifle, you are a day and a half's grind from master.

As much as this guy's post applies to me, and how I should be offended by it... it is good advice.

I could train master rifleman in a few days, pick up some rifles off the bazaar and be light years ahead of my BH/MP/Fencer defenses template with my uber pistol inventory.

a) Riflemans the longest grind Ive ever done its stircrazily boring. BTW Investigation (without mounts) easier than Rifleman.

b) OMFG +Dodge+ you stupid gungan halfbreed.

Rifleman gets 75% speed at 0004. Four boxes worth 445.5k Combat XP you know the thing you only get as 10% of your actual weapon XP. Now to be fair the poor old Pistoleer only gets +59 for the same boxes & XP.

Well that sucks oh wait RIFLES HAVE 8.0 speeds & pistols have 2.0, 3.0 if their really bantha poodoo. So by the time a rifleman can be firing at once every 2 seconds your pistoleers firing once every second. My heart frikken bleeds for you.

+Dodge+ ahh how I miss thee, Dodge NEGATES any attack. Block stops half the damage & you take the state. Should I repeat that?

A master Rifleman can fire as fast as any Master Pistoleer, so yeah....that's a problem.

for some reason, i feel like dropping pistoleer for rifleman....sounds like it will do me a lot better.

Unless anyone knows about changes in the future?

Anything said about changes in the future would just be wild speculation at this point--all we know are that major changes are definitely in the works. All I can say is, this seems to me to be a bad time to be changing combat professions. Once the CU comes about, you may be kicking yourself for having given it up. If you don't think you can wait for the CU though, I can think of worse things to be than a rifleman. I guess it depends on what your playing style is.

I don't really think it will matter if you change your template now due to the fact that of what TH said in his CUpost:"And with the completion of these changes, every player will have the freedom to re-allocate their character's skill points as they wish to take advantage of the new, enhanced combat system."

Taken from "What's going on with Combat? Part 2" in the In Development thread..

Atthe sametime lol would be a good day to start an alt and could be master whatever in a matter of seconds...

Um... don't we already have the freedom to re-allocate our skill points as we wish? Me thinks what they meant is, if we don't like our current template, we can surrender skills and then grind through the system, like usual (to take advantage of the new, enhanced combat system)... There's no way they would make skill point reallocation so easy as just surrendering skillsand choosing different combat skills(or any other skills for that matter).

i wouldn't class anything worse than the inv grind that's for sure lol. dodge can be more a pain in the @$$ than helpful, like when you line yourself up to use fan shot on a group of npc's only to dodge a small attack and then bam you hit about 50 other critters cause the gay little dodge sidestep threw off your alignment, also it's little animation can get you in trouble in PvP And take into account you don't dodge all that much....

O btwa rifle'sspeed doesn't matter too much to a master seeing as they spam master headshot once a second just fine, in fact there are times when even a master pistoleer can't spam certain attacks at once a second

O don't forget the $@#% jawa ion rifle that is a marksmen weapon that out classes basically all other ranged weapons in PvP

I really don't see any point to what you're are saying.....other than trying to make us feel better

Bishop,

TH would have no reason to state that we would be allowed to give up and re-grind SP in the new combat system, because the removal of the SP system has never been on the docket.

I am saying with 99% certainty that what he meant was that when the CU publish hits, we will be allowed to re-set our characters, just like the Jedi did when 11 hit (or was it 10?). They logged in and were allowed to surrender all skills and replace them with no grinding whatsoever (aside from maybe having to type yes a few times)

Now, it is possible that this was true at the time it was said and is no longer true, or that by the time CU hits it will no longer be true, these things happen. TH also did nto give specifics as to what would be allowable for re-setting. Only boxes that take combat or combat type xp to gain (pistols, rifle, one-anded, etc)? Only "spent" sp (so that you don't create a noob character on CU pub day -1 and get to create a free combat beast). What skills will we be able to spend it on? I image that will be regulated as otherwise we'd see a lot of people gaining a lot of Force skills or J3D 3Y3 rank that didn't have them before.
