Ok, I recently picked up Pistoleer after a few weeks work at it. I looked at the skill tree and didn't really notice anything that jumped at me. I thought about persuing other professions. Meanwhile, while I am doing 200-600 dmg with my fwg5 or DX2, my friend just picked up commando and is kicking ass. I then realized how close I was to Commando (Carbine 3-4, Unarmed 2-4) and thought to pick it up. I am wondering though if it is worth it to pick up Pistoleer then suddenly drop it, but then again, Commando is strong as hell. Can anyone give me a reason to stay Pistoleer?

Keep both because you can use pistoleer specials with the launcher pistol.

Go commando if you want to Nuke, go Pistoleer if you want to Plink. My suggestion would be keep both skills.

As a master commando and a master pistoleer I'd recommend keeping at least some of both. Pistoleer fan shot serves me far better for taking out Faction Missions (level 25, tat sunburn and a republic blaster = 4k faction points in 2 hours), but the flamethrower makes a nice last ditch attack If you have a damage sliced flamethrower it can do good damage, but it will also be rather slow... pistoleer at master is far faster, and the defense mods from pistoleer are quite a bit better. In general Commando can do a lot more damage in a single hit, assuming you can hit



So like everyone else has been saying... do both

When I made master pistoleer I was able to take out commandos with ease.


Most rely on their little flame gun which is slow and will rarely hit a moving master pistoleer over 18m away.


Hit em with healthshot 1 & 2 and spam stopping shot.


Unless it is a hybrid commando it works EVERYTIME...atleast everytime I did it the one and only day I held onto master pistoleer

i Dont know but when you have a luncher pistol and stoping shot you could take out AT-STs in like 3 shots and less, Love Blast dmg it has to be the most best type of dmg, but anyways i would say for you to go both

Commando is a dumb skill. It is over powered and it is hella easy to get xp for it. You can master commando in no time. If you want a profession where you need skill go pistoleer. If you want one that takes no skill and you just press one button and you take everyones xp and piss every one off.. go commando. Plus if you are in PvP and you miss your flame... you are screwed.

Depends on what you want to be good at. Grinding creds and PvE, Commando. PvP Domination, Pistoleer. In PvP a high level Pistoleer can't be hit by the Commando's inaccurate, slow weaponry. Personally, I was a 2-4-4-4 BH and got owned in PvP all the time, so I'm going Master Pistoleer with BH 0-0-4-3 to compliment it. Torso Shot and Eyeshot are awesome abilities, along with the pistoleers abilities and high defense mods.

All I do is pvp... I have missed tons with a flamethrower and still downed my target.


What is this garbage about it taking skill to be a pistoleer over Commando? Sheesh, someone is grouchy...lol

Go both...


I am M.pistoleer/smug 0040/commando 4340/nov medic.


I have a macro that uses my flamethrower like a pistol special (it equips the FT, uses flamesingle2, and returns me back to my pistol) if u have an advanced one cut for speed, u can avoid alot of the time it takes to use it. great for DOT'ing a crowd... I never use bleeds anymore... I just cook em.


I keep Thermal dets... 800-1700 3.2 AR2 grenades for the crowds... has a radius of 7m..


Never use the Launcher pistol tho... It has no AR... I use it if I have to fall back on doing blast damage or if they are naked in pvp and I do not have a G5 handy... it's speed makes it bulky.. and the new ones are not that hot.


Wait till u try a Plasma beam.... 1600-3500 3.5 spd AR3.... it will make yer mind up for u...


Commando is a beautifull compliment to a pistol.
