Thread: De-10 vs Geo Blaster in PVP
Imp-117 posted an excellent example of how AP/AR is intended to work. The question is how it really works. People I've known who tested it find that it doesn't work as stated.
Probably just another thing that will be fixed in the revamp. 8 months from now.

de10 goes through sheilds too because it is AP1. shields only block AP0 things.. like Geos and stun batons.
I have no idea where you are getting this information. As far as I have known, PSG's block anything that it has resistance to regardless of the weapons armor piercing. Maybe you read somewhere that AP1 goes through a shield gen without a damage reduction.. but the resistances DO reduce it from my understanding.
Take two shots of 100 energy damage hitting a PSG.. this is what will go through. This PSG has 25% energy resistance.
AP0: 100 X .75 = 75 for the AP0 penalty of hitting an light rated armor piece. 75 X .75 = 56.3 for the resistances. We have 56.3 getting through a shield.
AP1: 100 X 1= 100 for AP1 not having ANY penalty of passing through a light rated armor piece. Then factor in the resistances for a total of 100 X .75 = 75 energy damage
Where you get that AP1 weapons aren't hindered by shields blows me away. Care to point out any references?
If my acid pistol shoots a PSG with 0 acid resistance, It will pass right through untouched. A DE-10 striking a PSG with energy resistance will get cut down.
