DE-10 has light AP....

And i do more damage with a 300 damage de-10 than i do with a 300 damage geo.

I would have to say that the geo pistol would be better in PvP. Energy armor is so high that stun is the only viable damage in pvp really.

they're both usefull. Use the de-10 at 48m+ range or to chew through psg's and the geo after the psg falls (if they're using one)

Yeah if I need to attack at range higher than 48 I use a modified rebublic blaster, I'd use a DE-10 if I could instead. Geo blaster is good when they get a bit closer. Of course, when I fight up close I use my VK but not all pistoleers are TKMs.

a geo blaster cant touch anything with 36+ stun armor and 45+ psg. you are better off with the much higher damage de10 that has AP1 (so psg doesnt affect it).

What most people dont realize is that armor resistance is changing soon. Its been stated that the new armor out (mandalorian) has the best stats armor will have after the revamp. So we are looking a a base of 40% once the combat revamp hits and PvP will be much different then. Especially since master doc buffs are getting nerfed to 1k cap enhanse. So this will cause most people to not wear full comp due to the high encumbrance (unless they make one with NS). I personally think the combat revamp will rule, since commando and BH will be a hell of alot more powerful since they are getting revamped with it.

Muhahaha, MBH with defense, no one will laugh at us then. It will be funny to watch all the people who talked smack about BH now going to it. I really hate the uber trend followers.

Numbers in the combat log mean nothing. The numbers that float over your target's head are the actual damage done.

Let's take a 300 max damage Geo and a 500 max damage DE-10.

With 36% stun (which is really high) you'd be doing 192 damage with the Geo.

If the same armor did 80% damage (not that unusual) you'd be doing 100 damage with the DE-10.

Arguing about AP is hard because there are conflicting reports about whether or not it works and how it works.

Sure, if you call March 2005 "soon", which is the scheduled time for the combat revamp. I don't know about you but I'm not worried about what the game will be like in 8 months.

I'm talking numbers floating over the target's head. In pvp someone using a geo on me and stoppingshot will be lucky to do 10 damage a shot... No AP, stun layered comp, imp psgs and synthesteak make geos worthless. Once the synthesteak and psg goes(if your opponent isn't switching between several diff ones) then and only then does the geo become a worthwhile weapon in PvP

I'll tell you how AP works.

Say you have an armor level of 1, and my weapon is Light(1) AP:

The Armor Level and AP cancel eachother out. normal damage.

Lets say you have no armor rating, and i have an AP of 1:

I get a 25% damage bonus.

Ap 2, no armor rating: 50% bonus

so on and so forth.

You have a relatively powerful geo. With the weapons you have, the geo will be more effective if you assume 80% base effectiveness to energy and a 40% stun layer.

A 350 max damage geo will do pretty close to the same damage as a 625 max damage DE-10. That's assuming 40% stun layers and 80% effectiveness to energy.

EDIT: Thought I should provide some numbers.

Assumptions: 40% stun, 80% base, no PSG, no synthsteak. Last Ditch 6x damage.

Geo: AP0

350 x 6 = 2100. 2100 / 4 = 525 (pvp damage). 525 / 2 = 262 (AP calc). 262 x 60% = 157 (40% stun layerprotection)

DE-10: AP1

625 x6 = 3750. 3750 / 4 = 937 (pvp damage). 937 / 1 = 937 (AP calc). 937 x 20% = 187 (80% base to energy)

Although the DE-10 came out about 20% more, it is still fairly close. My estimates were a little off. But his 470+ damage geo will outdamage his DE-10 if his opponent isn't wearing a shield.

you didnt add in the 45+% stun on the PSG that everybody wears. and that same PSG wont help at all versus a DE10 because PSG doesnt block anything AP1 and up.

A PSG is effective but I would have to disagree that everyone wears them. In my particular case, I have clothing attachments in my beltwhich have greatly increased my effectiveness. I can safely say that in the last couple of weeks (last night most notably), I died quite rarely because I wasn't wearing a shield. However, being able to last ditch at the cap with my geo blaster has has more than compensated for it. In addition to pistol speed, I also have unarmed damage and some state defense mods in my belt.

I recently picked up another +9 total in AAs so I will be able to get rid of the belt but when given a choice between modding something that will not degrade and modding something with a finite life span, I will still pick no degradation first.
