Thread: What's the best HAM settings to have for Pistoleer?
Migrate your stats smart and use master chef food and you do not need to get doctor buffs to wear composite armor. Also if you just doing pve then wear ubese armor with a good slice you wont need food spices buffs or anything to wear it and be effective as long as you migrate your stats wisley.
Remeber regenration is over rated create a armor marco, and have strong foucus you can heal your dmg with little cost to your mind and when the battle is over take of your armor with the marco and regen.
I saw a guide that mentioned what would be good HAM settings for pistoleer.
Health: High
Str: Semi-Low
Con: Semi-High
Action,Quick,Stam: Very High
Mind: Semi-Low
Focus, Will: Low
Hope that helps you out.

That's not good advice, I'm afraid.
In a game with Mind damage that is very difficult to heal and Action/Health damage that is healed completely with one good Stim B and Novice Medic skills, you need to have good Mind and Willpower stats.
I'd say that you need at LEAST 500 Willpower and at LEAST 800 Mind if you don't want to have serious troubles, and if you want to wear decent armor, you're going to need at least 400 Focus (which is enough for an encumbrance-sliced set of Ubese or a few heavy pieces of Composite).
Keep in mind that those are what I consider to be the lowest viable numbers for Mind and Willpower, not the ideal numbers. Also keep in mind that other people have their own ideas, and that's just my opinion.
I go for:
Health = Medium
Regen = Fairly High
Usage = Low
Action = Medium
Regen = Fairly High
Usage = Medium
Mind = High
Regen = High
Usage = Low
The logic is this: Health and Action can be healed quickly and easily. I hardly lose any health using specials so I keep the Health: Usage at a minimum. I keep both Action and Health: Regen fairly high. I DO lose Action doing specials so I keep Action: Usage reasonable.
Mind is a b1tch, however. I make sure I havehigh Mind and high Mind: Regen (because you use mind to heal the other stats and also you need it toregenerate ifMind is attacked). I don't bother spending much on Mind: Usage because I find it more important for it to be able to regenerate itself.
If my Mind bargets bad I take off my helmet and run away for a bit, trying to regenerate my Mind (doesn't always work
). Then I can heal stuff again and return to the fight.
Great question, BTW.It should be added to new the FAQ if anyone can be bothered to write another one! ![]()
I think my stats look like
600
400
400
600
400
400
1100
800
800
But then I'm CM first and pistolier second. And I made the choice to be gimp/god instead of just mediocre. Without buffs I'm pathetic, can't use specials at all, tho I can still equip my pve armor (ubese). With buffs (I am rarely without) I am a god. I walk through the land smiting the unbeleivers with extreme prejudice.
Heck.. I'm considering lowering my health and action even further to further pump my mind secondaries.
If I didn't use buffs all the time I'd lower my mind stats and raise my health (keeping the secondaries low), and raise my action and my action secondaries.
But hell... if you use armor without buffs you're a gimp anyways, so go all out and go my route.

The conventional wisdom seems to be that if you're not a big PvPer (and not something like a combat medic?), Mind isn't all that important. True?
Mind is targetted by mobs and NPCs aswell, not just players.

Oh, I'd like to see that. You with 1500ish stats and no armor, and me with 3000+ stats and 90% composite. Yeah, you'd rape me, I'm sure.
