Well, I'm not here to educate other people, and I don't care how you play your chars, so sorry for my strong words. I'd like to stand by the fact that 1) Not getting Master Doctor buffs is pure stupidity and 2) If your encumbrances eat most of your secondaries, you're going to be made someones b1tch in pvp.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong. I understand your point of view, but I dont agree. the only thing that I need to wear my full armor and not be toast in pvp is 1 tat sunburn. I always have a crate or 2 of those on me anyway.. in pvp, you just have to make sure you dont kill yourself by spamming some attack.. and kill the other guy of course :

+1700 stamina makes sure I wont get killed by spamming last ditch. also, I prefer food buffs over doctor buffs. doctor buffs are expensive (but no big deal, ok), but with food, you can buff yourself everytime you want to. and that matters a lot for me.

i use 1k all main bars. master pistoleer master smuggler master tk. 1.5k all ham when i powerboost. no armor unless im fighting for keeps. i pvp everyday and yes, armor rules, but with the rightfriends at your side you dont really need it.hey sensei try making me your bitch i guarantee ill put you on the ground no time flat.

Oh, I'd like to see that. You with 1500ish stats and no armor, and me with 3000+ stats and 90% composite. Yeah, you'd rape me, I'm sure.

Yep....I have to agree with Sensei. If your only doing 40-100 dmg to him, roy, all he has to do is stay aliveuntill your stats are almost gone, then spam last ditch.

I seen to be hit pretty hard on mind by mobs that are spitting (or diseases, which can be a REAL pain in the ass). But if you use your head while xping, you can stay pretty easily away from mind hits, yes.

Like I said, I'm not trying to educate anyone on how to play, the fact that people have different playstyles is a great thing. But the bottom line of any mmorpg, is just statistics vs. statistics, and naturally, getting the highest possible numbers on those stats IS going to be a benefit.

Tatooine sunburn was used as an argument in PvP here. As far as I know, you can use BOTH Master Doctor buffs and Tatooine sunburn to get an even bigger boost, so one doesnt rule out the other.

I have yet not lost -1- single duel, and I think I've duelled pretty much a Master of every class, Not a Jedi Master naturally, but I took a Jedi Knight down without too much trouble.

The conventional wisdom seems to be that if you're not a big PvPer (and not something like a combat medic?), Mind isn't all that important. True?

Mind is targetted by mobs and NPCs aswell, not just players.

It seems to be pretty rare, though. Or is it the kind of thing that becomes more common the tougher the level of your opposition, and I just don't see it much because I'm not fighting the tougher stuff?

In pve it's mind that kills me as well as in pvp. I was trying to solo kliknik lairs for scaley hide and every spawn I'd get a worker, a warrior, and a queen. I kill the worker first (easiest kill), then the queen (she deathblows), and then go to work on the warrior, at which point I'd get incapped due to mind damage. This is with 1100, 800,800 mind stats (down to 390 or so with armor). Mind damage is murder anywhere .

Mind damage is more of a attrition thing during long fights for me.

Not so. I am a master gunfighter with no medic skill, no pets, no buffs, and no armor (and I never PvP). I have 650 mind and never come close to getting incapped from it. You could get by with 500.

What the heck can you take on?

When your fighting several upper level mobs that hit random ham it becomesa little more important. With buffed health and action I can take on multiple rancors, but mind buffs being the pain they are to get I often go without meaning when my mind is hit its against an unbuffed stat (till I pop a muon which is only so so as a buff). Also when unbuffed I use a lot of heals on myself to survive, the stim D's I use can empty me out extremely fast, especially if wearing armor that eats into my secondaries.

Once you start fighting on planets such as Dathomiir you will notice an increased reliance on the mind pool.

mind buffs: fishnak (drink, +- +500 mind), muon (spice), veccuzi xxxxxxx (very long name, cant write it ) (food, +-+500 willpower)

with these buffs , your mindrarely runs out!! you'll have a mind pool of 2k, and 1-1.5k in every pool.

ok, I changed my mind

I still think the advice I gave here is good for all round, not rich, players. for those who want to see my new setup, chek the pistol faq 2.1. the first reply is mine about the ham.
