Thread: Soloed: 3Ancient Grauls, one graul and a Rebel Lieutenant.
Here's a new lesson for you. It's cool to have fun (and nice solo btw).
BUT, never come to this forum saying you actually had fun, ever. 80 percent of the forum members are nerf-whiners, and HATE to see or hear of someone actually enjoying this game. So it is their mission to apply the smackdown any time they see one of us having a blast.
And grats to you! heh, maulers are great!
We're not against having fun. Sounds like this guy is having a blast, and that's great!
However, it's no revelation that MCH's can "solo" virtually anything without any serious risk or challenge with the current combat dynamics. To some of us, the challenge is what's fun - not the end result. I'm still not going to give back the millions I made farming missions during my tenure as an MCH :-)
Keep doing whatever makes you happy. Understand that accomplishments of an MCH are not going to prompt many pats on the back on these forums. This isn't limited to MCH - A smuggler boasting thatthey just killed [whatever] by using bleed and /feign is going to get the same responses..

Actually, I believe the post was more about how awesome Fan Shot was. I suppose he could go be happy in the CH forums, but since Fan Shot is Pistoleer, it belonged here more than anywhere.
I just wish Pistoleers weren't such a grumpy bunch that they can't have fun with the game. Fun animations, cool duel-wields, people posting that they had FUN with a Pistoleer Special (but getting shot down). No, it's gotta be all about the "pure" pistoleer, rather than a Pistoleer who has come up with a fun combo and is using it effectively. Pistoleer, what's your anti-dabbler?

The issue here shouldn't be the characters and fixing them, it has to be the way the Mobs are reacting. Should 8 Stormies sit in my field of view without even going down for cover?
Should the Grauls not figure out that while the pet is hurting them, it's the guy with the /drevilmodeon Big Frickin laser /drevilmodeoff that's doing all the damage.
I remember reading awhile ago that they were going to fix the way Mobs reacted...Wonder what happend to that?
You've basically hit the nail right on the head. The PvE aspect of this game is basically divided into two categrories: those who have pets (be they grauls, rancors, AT-STs, etc) and those who don't. For those who do, PvE is easy. That's not to say that I think CH's should be nerfed, I'm just pointing out the obvious. If you have powerful pets, and a decent amount of combat ability, you can solo most of the game's toughest mobs without a lot of difficulty. A person without those pets will find such tasks much more difficult.

Because it's a class feature, dummy. If you and your class features do it w/o another player, it's SOLO by definition. PERIOD. You didn't solo if you used Body Shot 2 either...or a gun for that matter.

So if he was purely a ch, had NO other combat skills, and his pets took out everything he described, would you still say that he didn't solo it? Soloing means one PERSON. one human being solod something. if his character can call a pet then that's a weapon at his character's disposal that's part of his character's power.

Solo means alone without the aid of a other player or NPC. Creature handles by default use NPC as weapons to avoid taking damage themselfs. Thats there class perk but it also means that they Solo as CH. Since thats something almost everybody and a monky can do makes it in the eyes of most not so remarkable. Does not mean we are not happy for him/her to do something like that.
Solo'ing divicult creatures alone unaided by PC or NPC sets for the rest a standard to try to achieve. To measure yourself against somebody else his skills at mastering the game, but also the strategy and tactics of fighting with a class.
The age old way to show your the biggest kid on the block with the hardest fist, taking your dog along to help does not count ;-)
