Thread: Our next 19 questions for TH (submitted on the 15th)

I'd go with some kind of "role" question myself. Personally I see pistoleer not as having the highest DPS but:
- fast (high fire speed)
- mobile (best when moving)
- useful but not the best in all situations (all or nearly all damage types)
/agree good way of laying it out. From what I have heard about the combat balance, they are implementing something for the movement speed. You movement is based on size of weapon equiped. ie carrying a rifle makes you run a lot slower, but carrying a pistol only makes you run a little slow. So if they actually do this right the TK should be the only ones moving faster then us in combat.

That would be this:
The community is frustrated with being a "sideshow" in groups (low DPS, low accuracy, average defenses for a ranged profession, only a melee knockdown& a bleed for special attacks, an Ideal Range that is inside the range of Melee Lunge attacks) and having sub-par performance in solo play. They would like some insight into what their role is expected to be in the coming days when they will be considered a contender. What will our role be? What are our intended advantages? How does this relate toPistol skills from other professions?
We've submitted a great deal of thoughts & opinions on what we want to be, but haven't yet heard how it meshes with the development team's vision or plan.
Sounds like we'll be using it again, if he lets us. Thunderheart might ask for them this week rather than next week, I just assumed he'd be taking a week off from these for his vacation.
If he says this question is no good again (last week it was too challenging), what is your 2nd choice?
Yep, that's the one
. Er, if we have to have something else, this is what I'd go for, but then I'm a confused and befuddled individual ![]()
In the Vision document there was a request for 5 GCW recommendations; you have also mentioned that professions will be having more specific and defined roles in the GCW; can you perhaps give us further explanation or an example of how GCW roles will differ between the ranged elite combat professions, and how that difference relates to and can be seen as different from the profession’s role in combat (regardless of their allegiances)?
This guidance would aid us greatly in coming up for recommendations about our role in the GCW.

What if we asked how the skill mods Pistol Accuracy, Accuracy While Standing, & Accuracy While Moving all interacted? It's been brought up a few times, and nobody is really sure.
Sounds good to me ![]()
Although I'm sure someone said that accuracey is reduced by 60 while movingand that the 'accuracey while moving' merely reduces the amount that is minused (so, if you've say, 40 accuracey while moving, you'll only be penalised 20 accuracey points for moving).
Even if that's just confirmed, at least we'll know for sure.

Maybe, but I have also been thinking about the damage types. I know they said, when we asked why DE-10 is energy again, that they don't want a lot of damage types out there. But to me that might be the role of the pistoleer. If they are going to keep our damage low after CB, and hopefully give us some useful state attacks and crowd control, damage types might a way to make a profession useful. Especially in high end content, where most things have high resists, and resists to lots of damage types. As it is, I find with what we have now, I am usually able to get a weapon with low resist to damage type. Between a good FWG5(heat), RB(energy), DX2(acid) and Geo(stun), I can "usually" have a damage type that is less then 50% resisted. I think if they gave pistoleers a "good" cold damage, and maybe a "decent" kinetic damage would be great additions. Even if just the cold type, but at least of caliber of the DX2, AP1 would be nice. This falls into the "technical" profession someone stated before, with a range of abilities and skills. Not great at one type of combat, but good at many types.
