Hey I saw a krayt/sliced DL44 yesterday. 97-293 damage, with 1.7 speed. It was only 1.3 mil. ahahahahaha
It actually wouldn't be to bad in PvE, but worthless in PvP, going against someone who has damage mitigation. The range between min and max damage way to high.
On a different note, I bought myself a Republic Blaster that had NO RANGE MODIFIERS. That's right, min, max and ideal all said Zero. It's other stats weren't to bad either. 98-190 damage with 2.3 speed. 30 wound. I think action HAM cost was 30 something. Going to try it out, see how often I miss. I didnt realize WS could effect the range mods at all.

The role question sounds good. And the accuracy question for a backup is probably the best we can do if TH cops out of the first.

Just submitted it. This is our question this week:
How do the skill mods Pistol Accuracy, Pistol Accuracy While Moving, and Pistol Accuracy While Standing all interact? For example, do Pistol Accuracy While Moving & Pistol Accuracy While Standing stack whilerunning?
The reasons that I chose this question are:
- Thunderheart wanted some merciful questions again. The team is overworked with jedi, and is a little too busy to help him answer the really tough ones.
- The Combat Balance questions, while popular, haven'tyeilded very popular results.
- I have already brought up the DL-44 Blaster to the developers, and asked that it be given special consideration in the weapon revamp. They have also already said that less used weapons will be used more, and certs will be less "bottom heavy" in the skill trees. There could be a variety of "DL-44" variants, for example, certed throughout the tree after the weapon revamp. Asking this question again would get pretty much the same answer.
- This question has come up a couple of times in the past, and nobody seemed vehemently opposed to asking it this week. Some people supported it.
- Thunderheart has explicitly explained to the correspondents that should we choose to make a judgement call, it is our option.
I hope this one is accepted well. Believe me, when the sandboxcomesonline and we start testing the Combat Balance, we will get to ask all kinds of Big Questions. Best of all, there will be Real Answers!
EDIT: The sandbox is expected to go online shortly after Publish 10.

I personally see Pistoleer as a more techinical profession than its elite ranged counterparts... with high speed, low damage, area effect (as in everything wthiin 64m, not cone AoE) and lots of directable state changes, not ones that sometimes stick if you performa certain special attack. I'd like to know it the devs share a similar vision.
This ex almost exacty like I think pistoleer should be
Out of curiosity, where do you see carbineers fitting into this then? Currently, the majority of carbineer specials do exactlywhat you describe(fullautoarea, wildshot2, actionshot2, chargeshot2,etc).
If pistoleers are or become the area of effect, group state change ranged profession, where would you see carbineers fitting into the battle field?

Here's my question: Why can aswordsman solo krayt dragons, nightsister elders and (probably) the geo caves, without and help from anyone but himself, and pistoleers WHILE HUNTING IN GROUPS get blamed for stealing even one piece of loot because we cant do **edit** through medium/heavy ap without an excellent gun?

Well junbar_n_beretta that's a great question! Luckily for you, the combat balance is coming up and we're really going to shake things up there moving stuff around and bringing SWG into Utopia!!
Radonb I like your choice this week, that is the sort of thing that it's nice to get cleared up. Also, since I am not entirely aware of just how much info goes back and forth between Correspondants + TH, does he allow 'follow up' questions? i.e. his answer reveals a larger question about accuracy + speed somehow, would we be allowed to get that info relatively quickly, or would we have to wait for the next question and try to make sure we hit all key points in future questions?

Randonb - any news on who'll be actually doing the testing in the sandbox? will it be open to all like the TC, or will they be selecting people like they did with Jedi?

Good question. The sandbox is expected to be all of the correspondents and some hand-picked players, most of them the more active participants on Test Center. This will be a more fluid stage, where things haven't cemented so much and things are tweaked for balance. The reason for the selective crowd is that these players will be less prone to panic if they see something a little off, and won't go make a big deal about it and spawn a dozen petitions.
More testing will then take place on Test Center. This will be open to everybody like it is now. They haven't said anything about a Live galaxy copy like we just saw with Corbantis, but I think we'd all agree that it's a damn good idea.
You've actually prompted me to ask a bit more about how this process will all go down..

How it works Datchery is I submit the question, he posts his first draft of answers privately, and the correspondents make suggestions. After we all have a document we find agreeable, he posts them publicly.
If his initial answer raised questions, chances are I'd be able to ask those questions and the answerswould be incorporated into the answer before you guys read it.
It's situational though. There are other information pipelines that can be used, or you guys might want to use our next question on the topic, it all depends on the circumstances.

Good idea! I mean, to pick up some players only.
I think they should have done the same with the TC2 server: pick a few players (the one from TC who submit bugs accurately, often and very precisely) and grant them the right to play on TC2.
I am saying this because right now, on TC2, I have the impression that the people testing here do not test... but simply write petitions (like you said).
For the CB, we will need very good fellows to test this!!
Sorry, nothing to do with the thread's subject

Works for me. Would be nice to know. Hopefully those same skill mods still exist after CB.

Answer delayed for another week, but I'm sure you guys already knew that. Pretty much everyone reads the dev tracker religiously..
