Look before you leap - not entirely applicable here, but it fits enough for me to use it. We should deffinitely wait for them to see our ideas and disguss the changes with us, you, whatever instead of getting some change now that they may not want to reverse at a later stage.

I agree with what you said Jaegen ... I wish we could have some give-and-take with the Devs like the riflemen had with the T21 issue. I think it's becausea lot of newbs had the T21 and immediately experienced the nerf, while in this case most people don't see the effects yet because they're still low on the Pistoleer tree. We just have fewer whiners and thus the Devs ignore us.
I wish there was something more we could do though ... maybe you could send a PM to the Devs? Or maybe we could start one of those lame petition threads? It just sucks to know that the only attack we have is going down the drain soon, with no replacement.
I think that if they listened to us, they'd make disarm 2 (and 1, for that matter) some sort of panicshot ability, since they already have that code written. Or maybe the unequip idea. That would keep us viable as a profession until the fix the rest of our stuff.
what does our profession correspondent say about this? have they informed jaegan about any of these changes? this is ridiculous. i worked all the way to master pistoleer to have a ranged knockdown, now youre saying that it was all for nothing? if they dont let us knock them down, i want to do alot of damage to that bh's pistol. because thats the only way we are going to do anything. this is depressing, all the work of mastering a profession to see if nerfed into absolute worthlessness. hooo-freaking-ray for swg
How it's going right now, with all these nerfs and "fixes" I think we gonna stay the masters of random HAM damage for quite some while, but don't think it will be all that bad really. With knockdown getting nerfed for all professions, then we can still dish outa serious amount of damage in 30 seconds intervals.
Next on the nerf list, Panic shot. Haven't heard anything about Panic shot getting any 30 sec delay, bet we'll be seeing a ton of new smugglerswhen this patch hits live.
In beta Disarming shot 2 was just a another random HAM attack, and Body shot 3 wasthe king of all.Suprised that they were able to code in Aoe knockdown by "mistake" on disarm 2 and never realized it before now.Oh well.. hopefully we'll get our body shot 3 back now, might have just been another one of their mistakes to nerf it this bad, but I doubt that. ![]()
What I find completely unacceptable about Jarery's findings is that, instead of them giving us skills that do something, which we were low on before, they are taking away any skill we have with any type of ability other than random HAM dmg... So now we have disarm skills that do the same things as other skills?.... **edit** is the point of that?... Instead of jumping in half-cocked and ripping our class to pieces, just leave it until they can decide where it is going?... Why waste our time on these pointless patches, and testing of things that donothing that even needs testing... They have proven time and again that they can make worthless abilities, and just give us that same worthless ability over and over again.
Here's the friggin problem.... They gave us skills and we used them.... they kicked ass, and other people bitched... they said uhoh... the pistoleers are leveling too fast... and killing everyone in PVP (Except the BH's who are still ebtter than us) hmmm what should we do?.... well just take everything away so everyone other than them stopps yelling at us... Yeah great idea....
Here's what we need to do...
1. Make all the disarms and AOE's do something... hopefully AOE on the AOE's and something that represents a disarm type effect on the disarms.. Disarm 2 should retain its cone... These things have been mentioned many times before... for all who said them good call...:-)
2. Remove the stupid 30 second timer making things invulnerable to moves... I mean come on.... If I knock someone down... and they stand back up... I can just knock them down again... be real... But once I knock someone down... they will be more ready for it... hence they will gain a bonus to resist said knockdown.. and hey lets say I knock them down again... They will be even more prepared for it the thrid, fourth, fifth, and 70th times...so each timeI do it I will not have as great a chance of success... hence they gain more and more of a resist to my knocking them down... bam do that for all special status effecting attacks.. this would represent the inherint adaptability in all things to a current re-peated situation... Thank you Darwin... (just to note there should always be a chance of success however small, that chance may be) I will also say this as a warning, the 30 second timer will just cause people to kite from farther away.... or to be MORE concious of when they can repeat say pistolwhip and take 12 seconds worth of shots....and back away for 3 seconds... run around for 30 seconds, run in whip... 12 shots, runaway etc etc etc...
3. Remove the stacking of PistolWhip's 15 second delay timer so that things don't end up not doing anythign for 100's upon 100's of seconds... I single 15 seconds per pistol whip, that starts fresh at 15 seconds, when a new pistol whip is applied is how it should be... and the spamming of that ability will be taken care of in the scaling of resists, by how much something is used on it...
4. Give all classes a larger volume of varied status effects, that they can cause especially dizzy, and stun... almost everyone should be able to cause those effects... taunt and intimidate not so many, and I think everyone already has a knockdown, so that is ok.... the counter to these things being abused is again the scaling resists....
Ok Devs... We don't like what you have done... we feel very put out, and beat upon, some feedback would be appreciated..

True, but I am talking about a true long term non-nerf solution... The devs should be focused on fixing things and flushing out the classes correctly, more than trying to balance a bunch of incomplete things... cause by balancing now, and then flushing things out, they get to go through all this crap again later when they have to re-balance it... yeah... and you better believe that of they put everyone through this again... there will be a mass exodus to a game that in no way pays them anythign jut for the pain and heartache they cause...
I truly hope that they understand what goes into these characters... people work hard at playign these games... its fun yes, but alot of people put their body and soul into it, and this is just painful, to have your world re-done every 5 seconds...
Now people may call me gay or whatever for saying I put alot into my character, but whatever.... I roleplay and sight see, and in general do what makes me happy... I make friends, enemies, have favorite places to go.... its its own little world and my character is a part of me in essence... so whiel you are tearing us apart remember the paying customer behind it, hehe....:-)

Basically, our forum is filled with the following, I suspect, quickly answerable questions:
1. Why was knockdown removed from the master pistoleer disarming shot 2? (many see it as the only reason to go to pistoleer mastery, since smuggling/BH have specials that are superior to our remaining specials)
2. Is there any plan for the pistoleer profession to have a ranged knockdown?
3. What will replace disarming shot 2's knockdown effect? Any ETA on this?

All that would lead to would be gang beating, where people would just alternate the knocking down of people. At least this way, players shouldn't be in a helpless situation where they may as well walk away from the keyboard when the whipping starts. And I don't think it would encourage kiting because our weapons perform best up close. It is to our advantage to stick close to other ranged classes.
