My template is now complete:
Master Marksman
Master Pistoleer
Novice Commando
BH 0040
Smuggler 0040
I have all the pistol certs and all the pistol moves.
PvE is as follows: Torso Shot (BH), Health Shot 2 (Pistol), Groin Shot (Smuggler), spam on Last Ditch (Smuggler)
In PvP I've only done friendly duels so far, so I haven't lit anyone on fire with Torso Shot, but Bleeding Shot, HS2, Groin Shot, and then spamming Eye Shot and/or Last Ditch has worked well for me. I haven't lost a duel yet, though I think the Master Swordsman with scythe should have taken me down and just didn't really know the best way to play yet.
Still, it's quite effective. In PvE I can do nearly 2500 damage to a random pool with Last Ditch, after I've KD'd the thing with groin shot. Watching Rancor fall the other night was pretty funny, actually.
Still. . . now I'm only using HS2 for the bleed. all my other specials do not come from Pistoleer at all. And I don't even use a DX2, favoring the Scatter instead, so I could completely drop pistoleer, not us HS2 anymore since the bleed doesn't actually help that much, and I've still got the BH Bleeding Shot anyway. I would still have nearly +100 speed, and +105 accuracy, so I still wouldn't miss much and would be quite quick . . . and I'd still be "uber pistoleer" plus I could get my TKM back for its defenses and the meditation, or maybe do commando instead, or finish BH and be good with carbines too, and the LLC. . . quite a few possibilities. Pistoleer is very broken, I think, if I'm willing to completely drop it and still think I'd be just as good, maybe even better, without it than with it -- and using Pistols as my primary ranged attack.

I agree Disarm shot should be made better, the double dmg vs lairs was nice and higher dmg would be nice too. MTPS just really needs the problem fixed where it won't hurt things that aren't attacking you, and actually this problem is present in all AoE ranged shots. Also making stopping shot do health dmg, or better yet make it KD, that'd make sense since it's supposed to stop the target.
If we could get this it'd be great, and then we'll be getting double pistols at pub 11
althoughbut this may take awhile to come out

IMO stopping shot should have the effect of /suppressivefire, posture down change, except the dmg factor is way greater of course. IMO ranged pistol KD should stay smuggler only, /lowblow one thing they do have going for them.
An upgraded /suppressivefire (stoppingshot) would be nice, cause then we can free up skill points in Ranged Support on Marksman. I just have trouble letting go of /suppressive fire from Ranged Support. I find it is very useful in pvp and pve. I surrendered it and missed that skill badly, it went so well mixed in with /lowblow, /panicshot.
With those three specials you give melees a ruff time. /Lowblow alone just wasn't cutting it. being forced to kneel, then delayed for 10 seconds while your crotch is being /aimed at has a certain phsycological effect on some players.

Pull one freakin' dev from JtL and fix us. In just a few days, maybe one, a TON of people would be waaaaaay happier.
Anybody notice with the new NPC special use that PMD 1 is not sticking as much?

Funny you should say that, I'm a Master Pistoleer and BH 3-1-4-3. I almost never get beaten in PvP.

Do you think someone could do an updated one, the guide seems to refer to changes in publish 7, and as we're now approaching publish 10 perhaps its time for an updated guide so that we know the current status of specials....

Hello,
I was just seein if I could get a littel help. I am a pistoleer 2-1-4-1, and my fan shot does not perform an AOE attack, it does however do high dammage...I was looking for another AOE because all I have right now is pointblank area 1 and fan would be nice.....If I can get any help on this please lemme know....thanks

One of the major problems i see with Pistoleer is that it can never be a stand-alone profession. If you wish to excel with pistols, you have to pick up the BH pistols line, which is absurd. The BH is the one who should have to become a master pistoleer to be really good with his pistols, not the other way around.
Specials which target all 3 pools separately ought to be the domain of the M pistoleer. As such, i believe eye shot should be a pistoleer special, and the BH should have another special in his box to replace the one he lost. Perhaps the ability to land state attacks with a pistol (though something similar should also be in the hands of a pistoleer).

I absolutely agree with this. It is absurd that BH has better pistol specials than a master pistoleer. Let's go dev's - don't even bother fixing the broken pistoleer specials, just give us the BH and Smuggle pistol specials - hold out until master if you want, but there is no "mastry" is spamming health shot 2

Uncertain if this has already been mentioned, but i fail to understandhow a BH can get pistol speed to 80 with a single tree, whereas an alleged 'master' pistoleer can only get it to 74 with his entire profession.
The BH who does not specialise in pistoleer should be the one having to stick pistol SEAs into his clothes/armour to cap his pistol, yet its us pistoleers who havent picked up the BH pistol linethat ultimatelysuffer.
A few more speed mods (among others) would make a world of difference.

yeah disarming should could unequip an opponents weapon, that would be a nice special. It could give you a second to attack again or could be used for retreating.

i like the dizzy kd idea A lot i also think smugglers should get speed and accuracy skill mods
