Wow! Now I know why I hate pistol so bad! I remember when I mastered Carbineer it was the same way!
Broken Specials! Wish I knew then, what I know now. My biggest lesson from SOE learn to use the forums and READ! You may just find the profession you want to grind is BROKEN!
Did I have fun, some ask, I say no I didn't because it took me twice as long to grind a broken profession as one that wasn't broken.
havin fun now, I mastered the real fun CHAT!

thats the exact reason why they dont have it implemented like that. sure it would be fun for you, but not for the jedi who payed millions for his premium crystals and pearls. and besides saber decay is a bit different anyway.

is it just me that seems to notice that fan shot is broken? i says here it works but slightly bugged, but it is nothing like its style description...
the style info states "this attack fires multiple blasts at a SINGLE oponent" (or something to that effect) check it if you think i'm lieing
so why in the name of jabba's buthole is it an aoe cone attack???

I think you guys misunderstood the description of the Fan Attack. It's not an area effect attack, but a reference to the old dual action revolvers. They required two actions to fire the pistol, one to pull the hammer back and the second to release the hammer. When you used your free hand to rapidly pull the hammer back and fired with the other it is called "fanning". Thats why the description says it will hit one target multiple times, rapid fire so to speak.

so technicly if your idea is correct, and it does sound right, you shouldnt hit for 1k + but do a succession of smaller attackes that amount to 1 style? i think that would be allot better doing say 3 or 4 shots at 300 damage that 1 shot for 1k+ per fanshot.
although this might lead to a machine gun type effect, when people just spam it to death, would prolly cause mental lag but it would also mess up PSG's and damage food well quick

Some agreement and some disagreement.
First, the Pistoleer can be a great solo pve character.
Second, A Pistoleer/CHer/with medic pharm and other minor medic skills can be very effective in PvP and against force sensitive npcs. However, against a BH pistol dabler with one tree, the Pistoleer/CHer is a wimp.
Third, it is ridiculous for a BH to have better pistol skills and more capability than a Master Pistoleer.
So this means either pick what you hunt of be a member of a group if going against BHers/with one tree in pistol.
Maybe this is an outdated artifact of when the developers seem to have thought BH needed to be stronger, an attempt to encourage group play, or maybe a planned attempt to make BH more able to take down Jedi.
Seems as if SWG gameplay will not be hurt if a master Pistoleer has pistols skills at least equal to those of a BH one tree dabbler.

This is a response to the above post ^
You're missing one very key element to your argument... Skill point requirement. A person can master Pistoleer with only 29 from marksman and 63 from pistoleer. That's a total of 92.
On the other hand, a BH, with only the BH pistol tree, requires 75 for mastering marksman, 29 from scout, and then another 20 on the BH tree. That brings the total to 124.
I don't know about you but it seems pretty understandable once you look at the skill point requirements why BH pistols are comparable to master pistoleer.

Is all of the brokeness in the original post still valid?
My smuggler is finally giving up and getting some pistol skills - and it looks like I've been using some of the broken ones.
I just wanna make sure before I go deleting them off my quickbar...

I just scanned through it and it looks up to date.
Broken specials may not be totally useless though, just because they dont work as intended.
The pistoleer moves I use are :
Kip Up Shot - to stand when dizzy and forced to kneeling.
Suppression (from ranged support IV) - To force a mob or player to kneeling
Fan Shot - random HAM cone of fire shot.
Health Shot2 - best damage per second and targets the health pool, also is a bleed.
Pistol Melee Defense 1 - 5m Knock down.
Stopping Shot - Random HAM attack, highest damage but slow at master pistols.
Multi Target Pistol Shot - very buggy.32m random HAM area attack. Useful for spamming on lairs, but not much else.
All other moves are pretty much made redundant by the above, or are not worth using at all.

I was wondering whatever happened to the idea of haveing disarmingshot 2 un-equip the targets weapon, maybe that to compex to deal with.
I only mention this since in the initial post it seems that I am in the minority (as well as having no problems with my DX2 pistol like everyone else is. How? I dunno)
I'm not sure when it was and I def have no proof of it, but at a time when I was still just a Novice Pistoleer I was killing Spice fiends behind Mos Eisely Cantina and screwing around with Disarming Shot on the NPCs with melee weapons. I successfully hit them with the special attack and they promptly unequipped their weapon (which I assume is the dev's way of saying they were disarmed) and engaged me in unarmed combat. I also tried it on the NPCs armed with ranged weapons and achieved the same effect.
