You need to look for the Freelance pilot coordinator, not your trainer. When you tried to surrender it should have given you an option to get a waypoint to him.

HYPERSPACE SOUNDS

Seems the sound of entering and exiting hyperspace(which were mysteriously gone for me for a LONG time) has it's volume tied to the "Background Music Volume".

If you have the Music turned all the way down, the Hyperspace Sounds do not play(at least for me).

Shouldn't this be tied to "Effects Volume" instead?

Forgive me if this has allready been mentioned, but I think that it might be cool if force sensitive players get a special attack modifier when flying the new jedi starfighter. Think about it....If only jedis fly them in the movie, perhaps it is becuase the starship is "tuned" to them similarly to the way force crystals are "tuned" to their owners...maybe that's why they wear that metal thing across their forhead when piloting them....that would make sense to me...any thoughts? Just an idea

Skip the bomb shelter, head straight for Cheyenne mountain. Most pilots are very allergic to any mention of jedi bonusses in space.

Shelve Everything else for the moment, please put priority on fixing the framerate slowdown in space when more than a handful of ships are around and firing. What good is anything else if the game grinds to a halt every time the action heats up?

Deep space is currently unplayable as far as attacking the ISD or Reb station goes, pretty bad taking out the corvettes too. Witnessed a corvette and its escort approach the ISD and my system ground to 1 frame every 2 seconds. Before the CU it was fine. What change was made to the rendering system?

I figure its not net positioning code because the ships are not jumping around (although I have seen that too in Kashyyyk system combined with the slowdown when doing the mission to destroy the oppositions Y8 Mining Vessel) and the main slowdown only happens when ships start firing. Whilst my system is not top of the line, it's no slouch either, 2.2ghz Athlon ( 2000XP o/c) , 1gb ram,Radeon9800Pro 128mb on an Abit NF7s Mainboard.

Could I suggest some changes to the Y-8 "Elite" mining ship so that it can actually be used to asteroid mine.

If you want to mine effectively you need at least two forward firing weapon slots: one for the mining laser and one for the tractor beam, the Y-8 has one

You can't seem to use turret mounted mining lasers (bugged?) and even if you could, the asteroid chunks float off at such a speed that you cant hit many of them before they are out of range and you need to get out of the turret and back to the pilot seat to chase them.

(Please don't say that you designed asteroid mining for a multiplayer crew.....it's not the most exciting of passtimes and I'm not likely to find any players who are going to be keen to spend the next two hours trying to tractor beam passing rocks!)

If you fit the mining laser to the front and try mining without the tractor beam, there is a large support right in front of your view so you can't even see the asteroid you are targetting. As this is a POB ship this obstruction cannot be turned off with "shown cockpit frame" option.

By the nature of asteroid mining you come under attack from pirates, but the only remaining weapon slot on the Y-8 (if you fit the tractor beam to the top turret) is a lower turret with very restricted arcs that is completely unsuitable for self defence.

I was going to do a bit of asteroid mining to make some cash from some shipwright friends, but having completed the missions to get the Y-8, I was back in my Tie Opp within an hour. Even with the much smaller cargo bay (which means trips to the surface to unload) I manage a resource rate of approx double with the Oppressor because I can see the asteroids, chase the asteroid chunks and defend myself far more effectively than with the Y-8.

No one is saying the Y-8 should be a good all round ship, but if you want to asteroid mine it should completely outclass a little fighter. As it is, the fighter is by far the best option.

Please Devs, have a go at asteroid mining in a Y-8 and see just how frustrating it is. You've spent all that time on the mechanics and the graphics of a brand new ship, but the result is effectively pointless unless it gets few changes.

Theaner,

MP Ships require a pilot in the Captians chair in order to mine. No solo mining. Tried in both a Y8 and Decimator. Solo's a no go

Its possible in the Y8 but very limited.. Stick the biggest mining laser you can fit in the third slot and that gun can be fired by the pilot. You have to sit in the ops chair to get your overcharges running but after that you can get by on a single gun.. Its still more efficient to use a krayt armed with 2 or 3 Mark III mining lasers and land ever time your hold fills up however, just you can carry more with the default Y8 cargo hold.

The star distoryer lags deep space every time it starts shooting rebels and if their is alot of rebels by the star distoryer it is imposable to play deep space. Every hour i must go with the lag and try to kill the rebels around the star distoryer if i do not it will just add more so that the rest of the day deep space is not playable for other players. I have tested it with four other players and it is the same for them as it is for me so please disable the guns on the star distoryer!!!!!!!!! Trojan Xsaver / Imperial Ace / Jedi Padawan

I went into deep space for the first time today. I can honestly say it's some of the most fun I have had in JTL. It really felt like playing a movie, and was a great experience....

>>but <<

We were in a VT Decimator. We had some close calls taking down gunboats and even managed to kill a corvette or two, by taking out ones that had already been attacked by imperial npc craft. We were there for a good hour or so, and were engaged with a gunboat when suddenly, BOOM. At the time, we had full shields and the rear armor was a little thrashed. The shields were 3500. We were one shot and destroyed through full shields, the armor which was already damged, and the chassis.

This was a decimator. It's a freggin' gunboat, and we were taken down with one shot, or volley, or whatever you want to call it.

I came here hoping to find the pilot coorespondant willing to fight for pvp that wasn't the same retarded thing i dealt with in november, but instead I see exactly what I feared I would see. I see this:

"There can be a HUGE ammount of skill involved getting those 1 or 2 shots in. "

One-shotting a decimator isn't skill. It's the sheer definition of lame. I wanted to pvp in JTL from the beginning, especially when the pvp on the ground game was the meaningless contest of who had the best template and the strongest dots. A decimator shouldn't go down in less than 5 shots. You want to prove skill? Take out a gunboat while dodging it's gunners. After all, A New Hope didn't end with Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewbacca dying after being one shot by a standard TIE fighter.

I'd love to see people fighting it out in deep space. Frankly I'd love to see the battles in regular space as well, and have posted ideas for the integration of the GCW PCMG with space over on the GCW forums. I enjoyed taking down the npcs and sweated it when we had a squad of gunboats turn and rip us up. Having players in the mix makes it more exciting, but having them one shot you isn't fun, and everyone i talk to hates it. They refuse to bother with pvp because of it, because the load times in this game aren't exactly swift and that's all pvping in space allows you to do... stare at the load screen after you've been killed in one hit. If i was in an A-wing and i was one shot, i'd understand... but a decimator?

Goodbye my love, goodbye. Losing ground is what it takes if you really want to fly.

SWG Wiki: Everything you wanted to know about kreetles, but were afraid to ask.

The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.
