Not sure if this was mentioned already, but on my YT the weapon panels keep dissappearing
This is a rather lenghty fourm, so i may have missed this.
If I have a componant targeted on one ship I am attacking (say the reactor), and then get hit by another ship 4-5 times, I lose my lock on the componant. I do not aquire a lock on the new target, only lose the red "reactor x%" under the target info at the top of my screen. Not a huge problem, unless i miss the little beep that goes along with losing this componant lock. This is not a huge issue, but it is as annoying as sin.
Add a third space for use of POB ships...not just the 2 for yacht and nova/decimator/yt-1300. you can store stuff on 2 but not the third. My YT-1300 i want for pvp or pve use...i like the idea of kicking some butt with it when changes can be made to make it viable for use.

This was a decimator. It's a freggin' gunboat, and we were taken down with one shot, or volley, or whatever you want to call it.I came here hoping to find the pilot coorespondant willing to fight for pvp that wasn't the same retarded thing i dealt with in november, but instead I see exactly what I feared I would see. I see this:
"There can be a HUGE ammount of skill involved getting those 1 or 2 shots in. "
One-shotting a decimator isn't skill. It's the sheer definition of lame. I wanted to pvp in JTL from the beginning, especially when the pvp on the ground game was the meaningless contest of who had the best template and the strongest dots. A decimator shouldn't go down in less than 5 shots. You want to prove skill? Take out a gunboat while dodging it's gunners. After all, A New Hope didn't end with Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewbacca dying after being one shot by a standard TIE fighter.
While I do believe landing 1-2 shots on a well-piloted starfighter can range from difficult to nigh-on impossible, POBs are a completely different story, and they continue to be a significant issue--they just aren't viable in PVP right now. Their size and maneuverability makes them enormous targets. If they're that easy to hit, they need to be able to soak some serious damage before they go down--but right now, they can be dropped in 4-10 hits, depending on the guns used, and that's hits total, not volleys. An X-Wing or Krayt could land 10 hits on a POB in a second.
Finding a way to make POBs useful and fun in PVP (and somewhat more effective in PVE, if possible) is a top priority for me, as it was for Monsofo, and I think the vast majority of the community agrees they need help. In RotW beta testing we asked that elite shields be raised to about 10 times their current HP, but the problem with that solution is it unbalances PVE. It may be possible to get a damage reduction on POBs in PVP, and I've seen some other interesting suggestions that could fix things up.
I don't know of any current plans to improve POBs, but I just want you to know I agree with you completely about how underpowered they are in PVP (in fact, I'd want them to be able to take, say, 30-150 hits, not 5
The main complaint that I have that is not already listed in the first post, is:
Bring back /findfriend in space.(And modify it to work over the entire star system, rather than have limited range) We seem to have lost this ability a few weeks ago, and it makes for a tough time linking up with friends for missions, etc. The Devs appear to want us to group up, since high-level missions go as far as the trainer telling you to bring help. Make the grouping experience easier.

Personally I'd still rather a starfighter be able to take a few volleys. The problem as I see it is that often pvp occurs as you see your ship explode and then realize that it was another player. There shouldn't be that much of a drastic difference between pvp and pve (and yes, i think that the pve ships should be at least a tad smarter)
That sounds good to me. Is it possible to have a different multiplier for POBs or would that just throw the whole system out of wack?

), it's just a trickier prospect to improve them than it may appear on the surface.
