Thread: FOTM Jedi Starfighter....

I think balancing the ROTW ships to the old ships would be easier as there are more preROTW ships. Therefore less work to balance the postROTW ships.
Funny thing is - if you think about it the new ships, the JSF especially, nerf all the original ships so therefore when a JSF lover screams "WE DONT WANT NERFS!" just say "your right, lets just remove the JSF completely!"
What happens when you lose then? Remove the next ship that kills you? Then what? Remove the whole faction? Seriously if you keep asking to NERF/Remove things every time you lose there will be no game left to play.

Excellent space RPG game with a much much bigger universe to explore. A really cool story line that you can follow (or not). A living, breathing economy. Way more ships to choose from. And oh yeah. There is a nice little built in editor where you can nerf every single thing that beats you all on your very own.

I have a problem with any thread that starts with "urgently needs to be nerfed". The purpose of this thread is to ruin the game and it should be immediately locked as it is in violation of the forum rules.
I have it on good authority that the JSF was originally supposed to be all factions and Jedi only. From what I know it was supposed to be exactly the same as it is except 50K instead of 90K. However Jedi and FS players were supposed to be able to use Vehicle Control while piloting the JSF. However this would never work since the pilot community has somehow become an accepted anti-Star Wars faction of SWG. To encourage this behavior further the devs removed Vehicle Control from the JSF and boosted it up to 90K to make up for it.

Additionally the answer is never to nerf. The answer is to ask for more...
1.) The JSF and Grevious fighters should both be all factions (they originally were before some genius in marketing got involved)
2.) The ARC or some other similar heavier ship should have 360 degree turrets to combat the smaller ships like the Krayt. (I have both the krayt and JSF and I still prefer the Krayt for the mass and 4 weapons)
3.) Trust me when I say to never ask for a nerf. You are making it far too easy on SOE by having them adjust something down to a $0.25 arcade level than to ask them to ADD content, ships, weapons, etc.
4.) NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO PVP
5.) If you do PvP you will lose...
6.) If the devs NERFED everything you asked them to NERF every time you ask them to NERF you will still eventually lose.
If you read through the POSTS in the thread maybe you would realise what we were talking about when you so rudely interupted us!

Yes all ships that kill me in every situation just cause they are one particular ship should be BALANCED. The space game was previously about who is the best pilot and not about who has the best loot item!

Just had to point out the bit in green above. Im a VERY good pilot and I go everywhere without a wingman as I am secure in the knowledge my skills are up to the task of taking on any enemy in any enemy ship whilst I am in any ship, unless of course my enemy flies a JSF, of course! Besides which everyone wants ME to be THEIR wingman. "cuch can you help me do this?" "cuch is this a good component?" "cuch can you come with me and solo my mission on corv/30 kessel imps/anything while i watch?" etc! Not that I mind I love flying almost as much as i love showing of which is why on contact with enemies i always fly over my wingmate at full speed so he can see what an X with foils open looks like at 1500!

A blatant lie, I never managed to kill any of you. As for the engine, you never said anything about engines, only told me to get a better ship which im sure you are aware there is no better ship.

Ok, here's the thing about this thread: I'm Khaymen one of two jedi starfighter pilots Kehtal went up against in deepspace. I was using a 104spd 64YPR engine. To load this engine, appropriate sheilds and other parts, I have to use two light weapons. That means I don't get one shot kills. And we only killed him twice, not his "wash-rinse-repaet-6 times.Yes, I killed Kehtal twice after the two longest pvp space fights I've had since the CU. He was the second pilot to come up against us while we were on the rebel space station. After the first rebel showed, I was checking for players everytime Iswitched targets, along with my three wingmates. Khetal fails to mention that he did manage to shoot my lady down in her jedi starfighter twice before I could turn his awing to slag. Against a total of 4 imperial aces at once with top of the line equipment, he killed one of these "super" ships twice before being killed. When he started sending me tells, I told him to get a better engine (maybe a 97spd 75ypr engine) and bring friends. You never see real pilots fly without wingmen. Last night was the reason why. We defeated him thru combined fire and vigilance. If I see one player come after my lady, I'm gonna be ready for the next. I have no problem with the jedi starfighter because I used to fly an A-wing on Eclipse. It was very hard for any imperial player to lock me up long enough to burn me. Now, the imps can do the same thing too. People might have a problem with needing to own ROTW to get these fighters freely, but that is a marketing strategy by SOE. Their game means their rules. Find a new way to succeed (as in adapt).

I don't want a NERF on anything, and I thought I laid that out pretty well in both this thread, numerous others, as well as in the "New Ship Stats" thread. Where all of this was discussed quite successfully and intelligently with the PIlot coorespondent.
If you think that these fighters are NOT out of balance, you are simply smoking crack.
Look at the stats, compare them to the other ships and any intelligent person would come to the same conclusions.
I clearly stated that "NERFing" anything into uselessness is by far the worst idea. I also stated that anytime the Dev's have NERFed anything those were the results. The answer is so simple that newb's like that guy will never understand it.
Simply adjust the YPR on these new ships so that they are in balance with existing ships. Ducimous put it quite well..
- High Mass = Low YPR
- Medium Mass = Medium YPR
- Low Mass = High YPR
It doesn't get easier than that. Currently with these new ships the main issue is that High Mass = High YPR
Some people just like having an "I Win" button. Well, then they should go play offline games and use cheat codes. In JTL anything that is out of balance is bad for ALL pilots. Rebels won't fly in PvPat allif they think that every Imp has an "I Win" ship. Imp's would do the same thing.
This is not a question of faction. The JSF and Greivous are identical as far as stats and the Greivous doesn't have the huge hit box that some people say it does (having dueled numerous ones I can testify to that.)
NERF's are bad for the game, I agree with that. Balance is not.

ROLFMAO
Ok, now that that is out of my system. The highlighted statement is what caused that outburst. Since JtL beta, the Devs have continually stated that force skills will have NO effect on the space game - not players, DEVS stated this.
Second, if you would read this thread, we have been discussing BALANCING the ships, not NERFING. Thank you for the good laugh.

A valid point, lots of people say the JSF IS balanced as the greivous is its obvious countermeasure, however they tend to forget all the other ships out there in the game that are either unbalanced in comparison to the ROTW ships (or vice versa the ROTW ships are unbalanced compared to them).
Still like that argument of upgrading other ships to catch up that some people put forward which has the effect of balancing all the ships but with loads more work than just using the existing balance system on the ROTW ships. Can you realy see the devs going for the option that requires more work?
If it remains that Rebels have the perception of the JSF being an "I Win" button.. you just won't have any Rebels to shoot anymore.
If Imperials thought the Rebels had an "I Win" button then problem solved as well.. no more Imp's to shoot.
If Nuetrals believe they cannot compete in PvP against Rebels or Imps.. problem solved, no more Nuetral;s to shoot anymore.
No one will go overt if they BELIEVE they cannot compete. Your lack of understanding is outlined when you say "Don't NERF anything I know better than you do!" The fact is, it's hard enough to get people to go overt without asshats like you trying to prove how uber you are.
I can guarentee, if you faced any of the pilots in this thread, that know what they're talking about, you'd be dust before you even saw us coming. So cry more newb. Maybe if you knew what you were talking about you'd realize that PvP means Player versus Player. How are you going to be involved in PvP if no other players are willing to go up against an "I Win" ship?
Ooola wrote:
No, the thread is about NERFING one ship because one person was killed by three other players. If you want a thread that's about balance then start one that begins with "How to balance JTL". Let's not pretend here... Did you read the thread?
2 points here:

All BS aside. Which way to you think is the right way to do it? If money and manpower wasn't an issue. If you could wave a magic wand.
