It has more mass than an A-Wing, has a much smaller profile than an A-wing, turns faster than any other ship i know, and also accellerates faster than any other ship i know. Tonight in deep space I came across an enemy pilot in the new FOTM ship, and we went at it. The fight was over relatively quickly, the entire time I was turning as hard as my A-Wing could go, but to no use, he stayed just off of my screen but was able to turn so fast that he could shoot me and continue flying in circles semi-infront of me.

Rinse-Repeat 6 times, same story.

This is rediculous, and needs to be balanced as soon as possible.

Welcome to what the imperials had since jtl release.... so I'll tell you what everyone of you rebs told us. Learn to fly, apparently you arent that good of a pilot

Give it up, the Rebel FOTM pvp ship on my server was the awing... so it looks like you are only mad because you lost your 'I win' ship. Every single time a imperial posts... well 'you must be a stupid hick and dont know how to fly' is your response... so why dont you just say what you really mean......... You imperials are so far beneath me that I should fly in kill everyone of you without a scratch or any type of tactics/challenge because I AM GOD

learn to fly, thats what the imperials had to do when we took on the fast moving awing... we adapted and let the missile become out friend and kissed our backsides goodbye when we got into a 2:1 fight

Why are so many Imperial pilots responding this way? "Suck it up." There are a couple of vast differences here.

1.) The Imperials had starfighter just as fast and more maneuverable than the A-wing. Just look at the YPR stats for the TIE Advanced and Interceptor, and compare them to the A-wing. The A-wing had one small edge, and that was profile. Granted. However, the Jedi Interceptor, while a hair slower than the A-wing/Advanced/Interceptor, is far more maneuverable and has a smaller profile...with *more* mass. That. is. wrong.

2.) The Imperials always had an A-wing killer: the TIE Oppressor. What do the Rebels have? The only ship the Rebels have that is capable of fielding three warhead launchers is the Nova Courier, and I'm sure everyone will agree that the Nova is not a viablechoice. That leaves the Y-wing and B-wing which both have two missile slots, which is one less than the Oppressor's all-too-effective trio for A-wing killing, and are less maneuverable.

Please, people, just look at this with some perspective.

I dont know... maybe imperials are responding so viciously because the rebels come in here with the originator of this post's view of total 100% hostility instead of acting like a grownup and reasonably responding the first 4 pages of responses have been rebels basicly calling anyone who does not agree with their view hicks, retards, degenerates, low iq or any other response that puts the his/her view as being very thought out... which it is not, its an emotional wreck that we imperials are only responding to because we are tired of the rebels complaining about everything the imperials have and getting us nerfed. I personally would just be happy to have seen the rebs get the ship as well as the imps... I consider that a slap in the face of the rebels. But most tactics (especially promoted among the pvp players i've met who are sucessful... see an awing- forget shooting at it, lock missile and fire)

I hope the moderators just lock all posts that even have to deal with pvp and the jedi fighter because it causes fights between both parties... until the name calling stops and the issue can be talked about as adults.... although I'm beginning to fear the 13 year olds have infiltrated the forums and there are very few of us adults left

half true. The A-WIng has a 1.0 speed mod. TIE Advanced .95 Put the same engine in both ships you'll see. As someone before me noted. The A-Wing makes a good BnZ ship. I always thought the A-Wing should turn tighter, but look at the thing. By looking at it I would say the designer was going for all out speed, not high YPR rates.

I always thought the A-Wing's size was an enormous advantage, personally. It's pretty miniscule compared to any of the TIEs. (For a full size comparison, check the third post in the FAQ.) In my experience, the difficulty in hitting a ship that small going that fast more than made up for the modest advantage the Advanced and Interceptor have in being able to change directions more quickly.

Imperials have always had the Oppressor to help deal with A-Wings, though, and there really is no Rebel ship that can fill that role. I've been wondering about seeing if we could get the X-Wing a second missile slot for a few months, so maybe it's time to look in on that. That would essentially render the Y-Wing completely obsolete, but I think it's better than allowing this gap to continue to exist, and we can maybe look at the Y-Wing and B-Wing later.

Anyway, obviously there a lot of other issues as well, but we've already had a lot of discussions in other threads and I don't think I have anything else new to add right now.

Im going to eat my words here guys, I respec'd to shipwright and played around with RE for a while and ended up with an engine a hell of a lot better than the one I had been using last night, and I turn a lot sharper. I tailed someone in a JSF who was putting it through its motions and I was able to keep them on screen fairly easily.

So tell me again how the A-wing is so overpowering? It has a smaller profile, yes, and I admit that. That is the *sole* advantage it has over TIEs, other than the psychological advantage. It can't maneuver faster, doesn't have more mass, isn't faster, can't carry more firepower.

My Prenerf engine running EO4 that has been in both ships says otherwise. about 1348 speed, and just under 1500 boosted. same setup, both ships.

That said, the YPR acceleration advantage of the T/I and T/A is acutally not such a great deal better, as the A wings profile balances it out. You'll never hear me complain about the A wing being less manuvarable. I've been killed by them enough to know that, the 4.4 Yaw and pitch in an A wing (vs the 5.2 Yaw and pitch in a interceptor or advanced,) is not a handicap to them.

Nice Kehtal, I look forward to seeing that thing move. I know of at least one person on Kettemoorwith a 94 spd, 85+ YPR engine in a JSF... too bad he's a rebel. I got an engine close to that, but it'd chew up almost half my mass so no go, I perfer my ships to function in PvE as well as PvP.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Tie Advanced, Tie Interceptor, A-Wing and the freelance ship I can't recall the name of at the moment, all have the SAME 1.0 speed mod. All those ships are nearly identical in every way. The A-Wing and Tie Interceptor are practically clones of each other on paper, just they have different shaped chassis. And obviously the key word in this reply is "Interceptor". That's what class these ships are. Built for raw speed and nimbleness so that they can scramble up to engage and harass attacking enemy bombers. They are not designed or intended, for fighter vs fighter battles. Leave that to the X-Wing's, Kimogila's, Tie's, etc, etc.

Well said Ducimus - that is the point exactly - the preROTW ships were balanced the new ones are not!

For everyone preROTW ship there was benefits to flying it and handicaps to flying.

IF ANY JSF PILOT CAN TELL ME WHAT THE HANDICAP THE JSF HAS TO BALANCE ITS HIGH MASS, MAX YPR, SMALL PROFILE, AND 3 WEAPON FIREPOWER i will shut my mouth and never post again except to tell everyone it is perfectly balanced, I will also give everything I own to that person including any donatable body parts! So go ahead tell me what the handicap for the JSF is?

Have to say though that every imperial pilot who says the Awing was a superior I WIN button makes me wonder, I mean did they not look at the stats of the ships? Or fly against other players in them?

I can see it taking quite some time before anyone can answer my question above?

What about all the JSF lovers who already posted in this forum callin us a load of nerf crying whiners because we lost our I WIN button (whatever that was). Can you answer the simple question I put to you above?

    I doubt it!

I have a problem with any thread that starts with "urgently needs to be nerfed". The purpose of this thread is to ruin the game and it should be immediately locked as it is in violation of the forum rules.

I have it on good authority that the JSF was originally supposed to be all factions and Jedi only. From what I know it was supposed to be exactly the same as it is except 50K instead of 90K. However Jedi and FS players were supposed to be able to use Vehicle Control while piloting the JSF. However this would never work since the pilot community has somehow become an accepted anti-Star Wars faction of SWG. To encourage this behavior further the devs removed Vehicle Control from the JSF and boosted it up to 90K to make up for it.

Read. me. very. c a r e f u l l y... when I say I am certain of this. This account will most likely now be banned for giving up that info so if you have any other such questions or require further detailplease asknow.

Additionally the answer is never to nerf. The answer is to ask for more...

1.) The JSF and Grevious fighters should both be all factions (they originally were before some genius in marketing got involved)

2.) The ARC or some other similar heavier ship should have 360 degree turrets to combat the smaller ships like the Krayt. (I have both the krayt and JSF and I still prefer the Krayt for the mass and 4 weapons)

3.) Trust me when I say to never ask for a nerf. You are making it far too easy on SOE by having them adjust something down to a $0.25 arcade level than to ask them to ADD content, ships, weapons, etc.

4.) NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO PVP

5.) If you do PvP you will lose...

6.) If the devs NERFED everything you asked them to NERF every time you ask them to NERF you will still eventually lose.
