i'm a neutral pilot on bria, so i dont get any pvp, but all of this seems completley sensible to me, i mean come on, if you cant take the heat stay out of the kitchen, its a simple rule to live by.

You know i used to keep accurate count of my kills, even by type of ship. zid update my bio the instant i landed..

xwing X 10
nova X 3
YT X 1
A wing X 8
etc etc etc.

I even recorded my losses:

T/A X 3
T/I X 3
T/O X 1
etc etc

Later i stopped that and just put in " Kills 39 / deaths 7" .

later on i stopped counting alltogether. What was the point? Ok, so.. kill/death ratio. whoppiee... Now what did i accomplish? Nothing. Hence, nothing further is being added to the count. I dont count anymore. No point in it, at least not to me. It means nothing. Sometimes you get lucky. Other times the other guy gets luck. I had fun either way.

The point is that the law of averages says that you will be shot down. And if it happens it happens. It sucks and it hurts your ego but it happens and it doesn't mean you're a bad pilot. It just means there may be room for improvement. Unless of course your record is like 1:50...then you might be a bad pilot

Well, actually i have got about 40-50 kills to 0-1 deaths in the past month or so (I havent played much unfortunately). It gets boring REALLY quickly. Especially when all you are shooting down is Johnny Compos in their JSF armour hoping that because it is so unbalanced it will mitigate their laziness in actually bothering to learn how to fly.

Yeh, I regularly achieve +20:0 kill ratios and not that I count, but some nights I'm popping so many new pilots its just not fun so I don't count them.

Wha I do do though and heh...this maybe a little geeky, but hey I'm a geek so hawhaw etc, is take screenshots after I've had what I consider a good fight with someone. Even if I lose. I got a folder in my art folder on my computer with subfolders called "Leaph got toasted" and "Leaph did the Toasting". Thankfully I have more screenies in the latter but its just kind of to mark my respect for certain people I like flying with.

My future goal though is once I got more RAM in this piece of junk I call a computer, I'm going to see if I can run Fraps while dueling people occasionally and make a short film of my flying for all to see [if they're remotely interested].

Along with this, I also wish to make some 'how to fly' tuition videos. This random idea has arisen from the current lacking of anything else for me to do in JTLS so my head thought "well...if you run out of things to do...invent somthing".

-Leaph [Plus I think a JTLS style tuition video/or in game duelign video would go pretty well to music like Intergalactic, by the Beastie Boys...erm..heh ]

So far i've gotten 4 pvp kills and no death with my Imperial. Can only say I can be proud of one of those kills since the first 3 didn't exactly ever see me. The fourth came after me and I got him. Took one hit on my front shields since I charged him head on. Managed to come back around and take him out. Wasn't much of a fight but at least it was a clean kill.

Between the PvP and the ISD I was a bit too busy to ask. Send a tell to the one name I could remember afterwards but he had gone offline. Did blew the oppy first ofcourse, missiles are annoying.

I wish that people would quit complaining about JSFs and other RoTW ships. Without these ships, my fellow neutral pilots and Iwould not have a viable dogfighting ship. Sure we can stack alot of guns on a krayt, but everyone knows that, so you last about 3 seconds as the true fighters (a-wings, x-wings, Advanceds, Interceptors etc.) attack you as soon as they see you. (ask the rebels we fought this weekend.) I fly a JSF in PvP and other than the optimal turning speed which give a slight advantage in a turning fight vs a similar engine, there is not that much difference than anyother dogfighter. Also, except for the smaller hitbox and second weapon slot, the heavy scyk is the better ship as it has more mass anda wider optimal turning speed range.(not sure about the new heavy rebel and Imp ships.)

Were you guys the ones who blew up my advanced X-wing at Kessel when I crashed to desktop?

Ya thats just common sense. Bit of a gamble doing otherwise.

Im still scared though. Unless they're not very experienced and running crafted engines or something. Honestly ive been out of the PvP scene lately . WOrking on joining the 9 badge club. But i gotta tell ya that month break i took did some damage. I came back and that feeling of finesse i used to have was totally gone. Major reason why i decided to finish the other badges. Going back to flight school so to speak.

Man, even flying the RotW ships seems to have dulled my edge a bit. I mean, while I'm in a super-maneuverable ship like the Jedi Interceptor, I'm fine in PvP and whatnot. But when I switch back to my old X-wing, my advanced X-wing, my Firespray, etc, etc, etc, I don't have the finesse I did before. My shots are a bit sloppier, my maneuvering isn't as precise, and things feel too sluggish to be effective. I'm afraid if I encountered some gap in space/time that allowed the me pilot of pre-RotW flying my old X-wing encounter the post-RotW me in my Actis, the post-RotW me would lose...

Heh, I thought the same way, so I have been in my Opp most of the time, helping others and stuff. Jumped into my JSF the other day and...Wow!!! being used to the sluggish Opp, the JSF was a pure joy again.

Speaking of JSF, I went up against a reb who had one the other day, was interesting. I was in the RG Interceptor, with comparativly weak shields, we dogged for a bit, each got in a IR launch and I chaffed mine, he shunted his. End of the story, I managed to hit him once...course with that Cert 10 cannon I have strapped onto my Int... He was dead in the water. *giggle*

Never assume a lower mass ship with one gun does not have a large cannon

Was fun, but honestly, a pilot with better or equal skills to me should have had me. I have flow the JSF a lot, and against an RG Int equipped like mine is...I would slaughter it.

*shrug* then again, i may have gotten a lucky shot.

As many times as JSF comes up in threads. I guess its a safe assumption that the "composite in space" has finally arrived.

Oh wait.. i know...."Welcome to last month Rapax". right? heh.
