See here's the real truth.
Your "jedi skills" are just numbers in a computer file, used in a skill vs skill RPG system on the ground.
Your pilot skills are how good you are at observation and reaction.
In case you missed the memo, Space is a twitch game.
SOOO, there is no "observation and reaction" in the ground game?
Your ignorance is deafening.
And your hubris is suffocating. I've been tame and direct thus far, stating simply that the benefits you think you deserve do not apply since the games are fundamentally different, but your further responses indicate that you are REALLY asking for this.
You admit you're new to pilot, and you try to claim ignorance on my part? Don't make me laugh. When you take the time to master the nuances of just one Pilot profession, you are welcome back to try again.Have done your level best to master the PvE aspect of space, and made at least a token attempt at the deep pool that is Space PvP? Do your best to at least understand the game as it exists before you try to enforce your game upon it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, yet unfortunately yours is selfish, shortsighted, uninformed and yeah I'm saying it, ignorant.
I'm not jealous of Jedi in a game, I pity them. I pity their need for crutches to make the game "fun" or "better" for them. You care about yourself, and that is sad. You don't try to fit into the gameworld along with everyone else, you try to change it to fit your whims. You bring up canon like you know a blamed thing about it. Stop and consider that the selfish desires and world bending changes thatyou and your ilk havepushed for, to the point of sucking away everyone else's development time, isan exact parallel to the megalomania that Palpatine accused the JediOrder of before he had them destroyed. It's the same mindless slavery to absolutes that led to the Destruction of Palpatine and the Empire. I pity you that you're so blinded bythe glowgiven to you by the game that you can't see or don't care that there's more than one way to have fun here, and that pushing Jedi-ism on everyone else isn't necessary.
Everyone is beautiful, you're beautiful, but you're also human which means you're prone to being stupid. Right now this is me saying to you as a person, your idea is stupid and would do more harm than good. You should go back and enjoythis aspect of thegame without your little numbers that say you have magic powers, because the enjoyment is there to be had, trust me on this.

well done, well put, so on and so forth, etcetera ad infinitum........
I am forced to hate both sides however. because i AM both sides... as Jedi, i dont feel it is fair that we are hated so much by the non-jedi. however, as a pilot i know that you have every right to. SWG was supposed to be a place where we could create teh star wars fantasy that WE wanted. since what we want conflicts (some people want to be a jedi, the other people want this to be totally canon) then there will always be disagreements. the best we can hope for is for civilized conversations/discussions, which we have OBVIOUSLY failed to put forth, on both sides.
canon can no longer be used. to the pathetic writer of this Thread (Manna), i say AS A JEDI, that JTL is NOT the place for our jedi skills. I played JTL months before i playedjedi. knowing this from both sides of the fence (and riding it until now) i can firmly say that putting jedi mods into space at all would totally kill everything, just as it has the ground game. I find JTL to be saving me month after month when the cancellation button seems to be so tempting. do NOT try to ruin that with jedi skills.
imagine that we did put jedi skills in space. What could we POSSIBLY use? Luke aimed his torpedo perfectly to blow up the death star when a different pilot missed by inches. ok, so you get a mod to missile launching efficiency. what else can you possibly put into your defense???? i just dont see it. you bring up force heal? you blundering FOOL! force heal is used to heal your ORGANIC AND LIVING BODY. honestly, how do you expect something that heals organics to repair your shields/armor in space? that would be like suggesting a pilot use a stimpack in a heated dogfight! its rediculous!
force cloak. well, to my knowledge, this ability is actually a method where the jedi confuses nearby people into thinking he is not there, rather than being literally invisible. in game, we must make our jedi invisible to simulate this effect.
Avoid Incap? *snaps fingers in 'z' pattern* dont go there girlfriend!
Master Lightsaber? w.t.f you want there, a lightsaber launcher? oh that would be highly amusing. i can see it now, lightsabers flying everywhere. now THAT would most certainly be canon wouldnt it? you manna, the one who writes this thread in an angry exclamation that it would be CANON! we must give jedi skills in space to remain CANON! please. and not even aced yet.
go back and ace your squadron, fly around a tad and see if you still agree that jedi skills in space would enhance gameplay. or perhaps you are too narrow minded to see the fault in this.

maybe we all should go over to the jedi forum and demand they let us use our fighters in groundside PvP....do carpet bombings and strafings runs on the MO etc. A good T10 RE weapon does, what, 4500 damage per shot? Factor in 75% PvP reduction, and thats still a 4-shot kill against even the buffiest buffed-up jediAfter all, we EARNED our skills in our fighters, we DESERVE to use them from 545m awayagainst unshielded infantry in defiance of all laws of martial chivalry, its onlyFAIR
Does this remind anybody else of the beginning of Corran Horn's supposed ops plan for a raid on the Mos Eisley Cantina? "After the strafing runs have been completed..."
Quite illuminating as to the mentality of who we're talking to. I especially loved the 'I've made 500 million creds, I am uber' post.
This person could care less about space, they just want something else to prompt them to be a braggart.
Nice.

I don't despise jedi players, I am good friends with a couple... BUT I despise idiots who don't deserve to be jedi and you my friend (Manna) are one of those idiots.
You come on here expecting a response to something you "think" you have earned when you haven't, you get annoyed when you don't get that response then flame the regulars in response, now ruining ANY chance you ever had of getting ANY help in the future on these forums.
Jedi skillz mean nothing if you can't shoot straight, if we are talking canon here, quote obi-wan kenobi in a new hope about anakin "He was the best star pilot in the galaxy" yeah but his L337 jedi skillz00r didn't stop him from blowing obi-wans wing off while trying to hit the buzz droids at the beginning of sith.. and they were both flying in a straight line.
And as has been said before, it's wedge antillies who is in charge of rogue sqaudron..not luke, wedge who took down the only ATST with a speeder during the battle of hoth, wedge who is so good that when lando asks him to take out the power regulator in jedi his reply is "copy that, i'm already on my way out" cos he KNOWS he's that good.. and lets not forget the bit where he flies down the throat of that tie at full throttle and completely wipes it out to save lukes hide in a new hope.
Jedi can play the space game if they want, they may even get very good at it, well good for you, you might want to think how good you'll feel about yourself if you master pilot without any help from your ground game skill mods.
P.S Can I use dualist stance in space /grin
Zef_Gaidin wrote:perhaps a slightly increased handling on the ship models would make sense, but that's the only thing i could see as remotely possible. and at least you'd still need to be a good pilot to make use of that slight increase in ship maneuverability.just my two cents
Not even - it wouldn't make sense that the ship would handle better if there is a Jedi flying it. There is no logical way to do it. The only things that would make Jedi better in space would be increased reaction times and increased spatial awareness - using the force to sense what's about to happen and using the force to sense where enemies are. Neither of these things can be implimented in an MMO and any other force-related abilities would be completely idiotic.
The only conclusion one can draw when one reads about Jedi hoping for an advantage in space is that they are either completely idiotic or dangerously short-sighted. Give it a moment of thought and you realise that not only will it not be done, but it can't be done.

More like he went to bed, like most of us did.
Pilots, Pilots, what am I going to do with you?
I really don't see the big deal here. Sometimes I'm ashamed of being a Pilot.
ALL personal feelings aside, in the Star Wars Universe, Force powers exist in space.
How did Luke pwn the DeathStar? "Use the Force, Luke!" -Obi Wan
I don't know for sure, I think it's EU, but weren't some Jedi Fighters rigged so that the jedi pilot could use their FP's?
It would add a whole new (and welcomed)dimension in space PVP.
Manna has a valid point, we just need to get over ourselves.
