Thread: Pilot Bugs/Issues
Bugs.
1. The hitpoint of a ship sometimes being about 100000m (slight exaggeration) from the green crosshair so even if you are hitting it dead on you are missing the ship.
2. Eject.. eject.. EJECT you $£*&*&* piece of junk.. (it doesn't work)
3. Having mashed at no 2 in frustration cos eject doesnt work, the game remembers you pressed the key 10 times, so decides to actually activate these 10 eject sequences, in a row, as soon as you spawn back at the station giving you 2000+ wounds in some case and buggering up all your components.
4. Flight computers do not seem to be tradable anymore, tried with 4 different characters and 2 diff flight comps, astromechs are working but flight computers are not. You dont even get a sys message to say why, it just cancels the trade.
Issues.
1. Tier 3 of Storm squadron is the dullest thing I have ever had to endure in my whole life, I could have more fun moving my house, 1 pixel at a time, from nyms stronghold to the very top of lok, I expect it would be quicker as well. If I ever have to escort that freighter that keeps getting itself caputured over and over again by the same bunch of rebels again I think I'll scream. Oh and what pilot in his right mind flies his tier 1 transport thru a bunch of static tier 4 rebel spawns. (I hate storm squadron)
2. Make the eta-actis and the arc-170 tradable without the quest, the bellabub is, why not these as well?
I have a glicth where I can't even start the 4th storm squadron mission where you find the fuel technician etc..
It won't let me talk to anyone or do anything.

Another issue to add to the list:
Chassis decay.
Right now the mechanic is supposed (I assume) to encourage people to purchase new ships when the thing decays to an unacceptable point.
HOWEVER
a.) it never gets to that point, and instead stops at 10/10
b.) this mechanic prompts alot of pilots who don't understand 10/10 or don't realize what it means in practice, to not fight in space at all, or at least not in areas that are competitive outside Deep Space. in the end, the mechanic to encourage interaction with shipwrights (again, i assume) is hurting the pilot profession.
Could a craftable shipwright "rejuvination" kit be implemented to aliviate uninformed player's fears about chassis decay? Some other mechanic to repair a chassis to full? I'd say just inform players that decay means nothing, but for every 1 person that reads these forums there are 10 who don't, and still even after being informed about decay some players simply don't like to see an arbirary statistic go down. Maybe this is something more appropriate for the SW forum but the issue affects pilots more I'd think.

How anyone gets that far into the game without 5 badges is beyond me, though. Why is this such a recurring problem? I had at least 5 POI badges at the end of my first day.

POI Badges didnt come out until a few months into the game, I did the whole rebel themepark and jabbas palace ages ago and only recently (while doing mort's clone armour quest) did I get the "location:abandoned rebel base on dantooine" badge cos I'd not been back since I did the themepark.

DOH! Didn't know that, I just been trading astromechs back and forth for commands and only had to trade a flight comp recently. /blushes with embarrasment
These are all thing I have personally run into:
Bugs:
- RGI hit box is bugged. It should be the same as the regular Interceptor, but as the group box (and testing on my server) indicates it is both too small and off center.
- The shields on the Rebel space station are unattackable (you can target the, but the yellow boxes don't appear and shooting where they used to be does nothing).
- Weapon Overload 3 still makes the weapon more efficient rather than costing more energy.
- POB ships reverse controls after boosting.
- POB ships stop after boosting.
- The /launchmissile command needs to be removed. It can be used to lag players through its graphics as well as make people waste all their countermeasures.
- AI Gunboats and Novas do not shoot at targets in their lower hemispheres.
- /findfriend is broken.
- The level 10 weapon 'Sienar Design Systems Experimental "Secret Ops" Blaster' is bugged and doesn not fire on the ships.
Balance:
- No reason to use any Pre-ROTW ships (besides possibily Opp and Krayt...neither of which are real Star Wars ships anyway). Specifically JSF, B22, and RGI all have really small hit boxes and good manueverability without the disadvatage of low mass. Heavy X-Wing and Vasaki have really high mass for their size and manueverability too, making the original medium/heavy mass fighters obsolete.
- POB ships have no combat role. Anything they can do can be done much better by a fighter manned with less people.
- POB components are not that much better than regular Mark V.
- In tight PvP, there is no way to avoid missiles. Due too the lag inherent in a multiplayer game combined with the ridiculous turing rate of the missiles, a missile shot in a dog fight hits you before you can do anything. Countermeasuers are useless because by the time you get the fire warning the missile has already hit because of the lag. There isn't even a warning for the enemy getting or attempting to get a lock so you could guess and release them early.
- Players have weak defense and strong offense. NPCs have strong defense and weak offense. This is fine for PvE and makes PvP fast paced (maybe a bit too much) but EvE doesn't happen. AI ships can shoot at each other for hours without getting shields down by more than 10%. Makes things like bomber strikes pretty useless except as a distraction.
"drunken bumble bee" behaviour on ships in all space sectors, what this means is that while in combat with PvE enemy i can be on his tail and he will "bounce" to the left or right. I have attempted the few fixes listed in the tech support forum but nothing helps.
chat tabs reset in space and i lose guildchat tab until someone says something or i hyperspace to kashyyyk system where my chat tabs return.
I'm a rebel on the ground but freelancer smugglers alliance pilot. when running the quests for the CPG for kash station i am started down the road of the the heavy X-wing reward. as I am a freelance pilot i dont want a smelly x-wing.
2.) Flagged as whatever faction we last chose when entering Deep Space upon entering Kessel Space(don't know if it's just factional, or PvP enabled on top of that). Workaround of redeeding the affected ship exists; which loses paint, texture, and risks(on a slow brain day) the destruction of components if you aren't careful.

As point #2... Some have said "just redeed ship then" You want to empty a YT-1300 you spent plenty of time decorating?!! I think not!
For the Kessel part of this bug, you are just NPC tied faction wise, I'm 95% certain of that (haven't been attacked during this bug and don't get faction, so guessing its a no)
