If we can't tank a hit, we'll evade it.
EP3 is easily mitigated by staying the hell out of range and going missiles first. A lot of us PvP masters have a real f*cking nasty attitude about missiles, but the goddamned things were put in the game for a reason, and if we're going to learn to cope with EPulsers, we'd better get our heads out of our asses and adapt. Several ships we fly were built to be missile platforms, this is a not a f*cking accident, its intended design. Dogfighting may be the fashionable method of doing the business we do, but its not the only game in town.Epulsing, missile boating and dogfighting are equally important to securing a win.
Saying that dogfighting is the only "proper" way of playing is like flying without Overloads. You're ignoring a substantial chunk of your capabilities by staring down your nose at it. As much as we harp on the poons that come in here for obviously stupid sh*t, we sometimes tend to get a little full of ourselves too.
Just because us dogfighters think we're gods gift to the profession because we can send some of these kids in their Relic ships packing using JTL basic ships, doesn't mean that someone out there who isn't a stickjockey doesn't have a means of showing us the hard way out of Deep Space, too.
Saying Epulse is overpowered for PvP runs in the same vein as saying every other weapon we throw on our ships is overpowered. The fact is, it works, and by all indications from above, its working as intended, so instead of whining, we need to put our noses to the grindstone and figger out how to compensate, or the dogfighters are going to be dethroned real quick and painfully.
Now theres something I never thought I'd hear Janu say =/.

I'm not looking for a showdown with anyone. I just wanted to put out the facts before more falseassumptions were made about me and before Kriendhild and his ilk convince the board that they are justified in using epulse for pvp.

They are completely justified, if they can make it work. Stop crying and adapt.

I dont have to have a showdown with anyone. Im just the first person to put in words how annoying Norram could be.
So i may as well lay it out on the table:
Hostile, myself, and a few others, from Nord Squadron we all complained about him in private. Decent enough guy, but the bragging wasnt just annoying, it was F'ing annoying.
Between Hostile and myself, it became a competition to see who he'd go bragging to first. We called him "Norram the Missle boat boy", just never to his face since we had to work with him. Both of us trying to avoid his attention. I helped him out a few times, by making his missles, hoping that once he got what he wanted he'd go off on his merry way.
Somewhere down the line, talk of "norrams next big thing" came into chat circles. I'd get tells, "norrams contenmplating being and EP3 whor3" or tells to that effect. Word travels fast around the grapevine, and when you brag alot, it travels even faster.
The icing on the cake was getting tells from a friends a little while back on bria saying he was back. Ironically enough he was in an oppressor - but that didnt surpise me in the least. Later still i got tells from a friend on starsider whilst i was still on valcyn complaining about Norram, and how he was intending to EP3 everone and Pwn all, and other such d00dish remarks. it made my head hurt. Getting such tells only reinforced past experiences.
So thats the gist, thats the lowdown, it aint no showdown, cause i got nothing to prove, and i dont care if anyone beleives me or not. What ive been saying is things from my own experiences with the guy, and those of my friends. What people belive or not about an indiviual is the furthest thing i even remotely care about. I have better things to do then go out on a smear campaign against a guy i havent seen ingame for probably close to a year now. So beleive what you want, not my concern.

BTW, you EP3 fanboys,
Put a sock in it already, that topic is just an ugly one. Let it go. We're all pretty sure where everyone stands with it. Let it go already, your never going to change anyones mind about it. All your going to do, is incite more flamage, and more ill will towards others.

So lets see. It turns out the hitbox of the JSF doesn't quite cover what it needs to either, yet since it is widely in use, it's accepted. The RGIisn't because it is a limited ship and the hit box is offset, or so it is believed. (I tend to believe that too since it doesn't cover the whole ship.) And Epulse, which has never been downplayed by a dev (although not the best track record on your patches, folks) is shunned. Missiles get a bad rep cause of boats with em, but turning forever to shoot is ok.
And people wonder why I just do whatever I can to avoid PvP sessions. Sheesh. Ah well, que sera, sera.
/Puts on flame retardant gear then remembers he is a Cubs fan and that nothing is worse this time of year

Oh THAT bug again? Just like certain Rebel ships were bugged to invincibility after JTL was released? Man SOE can't get it right.

Well i personally like the ship nearly more than any other currently available. Now if it was a PvP event and i was asked not to fly it because the hitbox is bugged then i would, no point having an unfair advantage. BUT if im just PvE'ing, including flying around in DS ill fly it, im not going to go looking for PvP but if someone comes for me ill fight him bugged hitbox or not, he chose to attack me he/she can deal with it.

Thats because i find EP3 fanboys defense of their favorite skill a display of arrogance that i find extremely offensive, and i let them know it. Tactic, playstyle, or skill, my arse. The rationalty people use to defend a skilless omni directional I win button to which there is no counter, i find self delusional. Its the same thing as some of the people on this forum who seem to think that the RGI is working as intended and people should just deal with it.
People make up all sorts of garbage to defend things they tenaciously cling to out of self intrest. Fixing the RGI, or nerfing EP3 is not in ones self intrest if they use said button or ship. I wish people would think more for the greater good of the game, and less for their own personal cheap thrills. Tis a utopian pipe dream i know.

To set the Record Straight:
EP3 is Cheap, its only really usefullif you want to piss people off, is it bugged? don't know, don't care, I dodn't personally think of it as an Exploit and if I'm lucky enough to survive the blast I gun the sucker down.
Missiles.. Not bugged. As balanced in PvP as any blaster. Basic tool of the trade, and good stock in any Ace Pilots Fighter
RGI, Anyone whos ever tried for 10+ minutes to shoot one that is not moving, can tell you its obviously bugged. Doesn't bother me cause I've encountered very few using it that knew about the bug(after all imp pilots don't usually shot at RGI, and not everyone reads the boards). The very few that I do see in DS I am happy to disable with my missiles.
Wo3. The 'Great Equalizer' of PvP Today Makes a Lvl 6 weapon as effective as 4 lvl 10 on any PvP target for no energy cost at all. Exploited by practically EVERYONE. I use it, everyone I know/and/or fight against uses it. I hate it with a passion though because it is one of the thngs killing Diversity in PvP. An example is if my A-wing's 1 small gun is as good in PvP as a B-wings 4 Massive Guns.. Why use a B-wing?(admittedly there are other reasons not to but the example also applies to other ships with multiple weapons).
All of these things I can live with, but I sure wish Wo3 would get nerfed, then RGIs can get fixed so Imps can be happy, and I can see more TIs in space and less belbulllabubamjiggers.
