Many imperial pilots purchased RotW to get the RGI because to them it looked pimp, before they knew anything of the stats or it being bugged. Most of that same crew don't fly them in PvP anymore because they have learned it is bugged. A few who do not read the forums don't realize it is bugged, as I found a few pilots in my guild who had no clue about it until two weeks ago.

As for those who know and still use it in PvP, I got no clue.

Agree some people in my Guild don't know about the Hitbox, I have never brought it up, but some of them think it sucks for having 'light mass' and only one weapon point. They enjoy their Actis, which is alright, just means I get more compliments on my Advanced.

Aye...that was like a guildmate of mine complaining that a 100k mass X-wing wasn't enough to PvE in. I kinda chewed him out, then gave him some advice. A couple days later he came back to me and told me I was right.

lol... I have been teaching a new pilot for a while now... mostly just tactics but she flies a JSF and I try to talk her into an advanced all the time. She always tells me, "I can't even fit what I want on this thing". When she did finaly try the interceptor she said that there was no way it could work for anything about a tier 3 npc. At the time, I was just finishing my first loadout for mine. Now when we group I make sure to demonstrate that I would kick her tail with my "worthless ship".

Well personnaly i dont see anything wrong with using missles. Primarly because most ships only have 1 tube. A single missle hit on a MK IV shield or greater is not a kill. It wears your oppoent down, but it doesnt kill him. If you can get two missle hits in before he shunts, then you got him. However most of the time people will shunt. So its really not a big deal, it does more phsycological damage i think then acutal damage.

Now where i draw the line is the Tie Oppressor. Thats almost a garunteed kill if you get a salvo off. 1 missle wont kill you. 2 and 3 most certanly will. I do encourage imperials to use a Tie oppressor in group engagements, but not to use them excusivly because it can become a crutch. (that and i think its exclusive use is lame)

To be honest the Tie Oppressor is a factional imbalance that ive been keenly aware of for some time. I have always wanted the Xwing to have an additional missle tube to close the gap in missle abilty between the two factions - but thats a topic for another thread.

And I do consider it cheating to fly the RGI - it's bugged, therefor an unfair advantage. It's up there with loadkilling and shield/weapon exploits.

How about WO3?

Exploit in my book.

WO3 is an exploit in your book but not Epulse3? What book are you reading?

/sigh here is a short tale of a boy and his RGI

When I saw the RGI announced as part of the RotW package I wet myself. I love my Interceptor and the thought of having an Interceptor with MORE mass was just...well...mildly orgasimic. Any full time Interceptor pilot can agree with this. The other RotW ships..uh huh..sure..whatever. Daddy wants a RGI!!!

So the big day comes. I did the digital download thing (wasn't going to because of SOE being an ass..but that's another thread) so I could get my RGI even quicker.

I'm on dial up so after 6 months waiting for the download, I log in and hit Kashyyyk. When I first saw Kashyyyk space I was of course stunned and blown away by all of the beautiful lag. But fought my distraction and headed to the SS.

I took the mission, was happily on my way and then....The Bug. I said the pirates were weak. You know that part in Ep3 where Vader finds out he kills Padme? That was me. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" The only ship I wanted was now the oly ship I couldn't get.

So I waited a year and a half for the fix, went and got it, wet myself as I was loading it out. "OMG!!! I was a monster in a regular Interceptor!! Now they gave me more mass and a sexy paint job!!! Does SOE realise what they've done?!"

So I flew it around for a week or so then checked out the pilot forum for a few load out ideas and see the "Hitbox" report. At first I wouldn't accept it. 'The RGI is the Emperors personal escort fighter of course it's suposed to be harder to hit!!!" "You people couldn't hit me in a regular interceptor whith a lvl6 engine. Why do you think it'll be easier now that i've got a lvl10 in this beast?!"

So me and a few freinds tested it.

I retired my beautiful ship from PVP. I'm already a damn fine pilot so I figured how fair or fun would it be to other pilots if you stick a damn good pilot in a Teflon coated ship. I had to do the right thing. I have since been using a TIE/H or a Vaksai for PVP.

These days I use the RGI for farming, looting and missions. Although I am in love with the Vaksai I miss using the RGI full time because I am an Interceptor pilot. It's what I know, it's what I am best at. I really wish there would be a fix so I could use my sexy red girl.

And for the record there are more people who don't read the forums than do and who have no idea the ship is bugged. I tell them and encourage them to use it only if they ned to do a rough mission solo as it will give them an edge. I also encourage them to stay out of JSf/B22s because they make you spioled and sloppy.

To set the record straight I was in a JSF (not an RG) when Geordi epulsed me. In fact, it was a 3v1 situation with me being the outnumbered party. I hardly ever fly the RG and I usually only do it when other friends are flying it and we are doing it to just match and not because we are setting up pvp events. I have gunned down many rebels since coming back to SWG and I primarily rely on my guns. If I have missiles loaded then I use them though, simple as that. If the rebels don't like they should use CM just like we do. In fact, plenty of rebels use missiles themselves and I have never once decried the use of them. So, Ducimus, why don't you get the facts straight before smearing me in the future, k? And yes, I do like to talk about pvp victories and defeats. I am not trying to brag so much as to discuss one of my favorite subjects. You think I'm a braggard and I think you are arrogant. And I do not use epulse, nor have I used epulse. I have a master pilot on starsider and I do not use epulse. I have been in a couple of pvp events and have not used nor would I use it. Win or lose, I dogfight now and have fun doing it.Inot a great pilot, but I'm not a bad pilot either as several imperials and rebels would atest to. If I were to come across you on starsider on the other side I wouldn't epulse you and I'm sorry that you would recommend such a thing for me when I'm flying a legtimate fighter (JSF/Bel/Heavy Tie/Aggressor) and occasionally the RG. I have packed up the oppressor and I hardly use the RG.

If rebels insist on using epulse on us then I would go freelancer and epulse the ones who epulse us until they agree to stop doing it. I don't think that would be fun for anyone.
