Thread: FOTM Jedi Starfighter....
A blatant lie, I never managed to kill any of you. As for the engine, you never said anything about engines, only told me to get a better ship which im sure you are aware there is no better ship.

Ok, here's the thing about this thread: I'm Khaymen one of two jedi starfighter pilots Kehtal went up against in deepspace. I was using a 104spd 64YPR engine. To load this engine, appropriate sheilds and other parts, I have to use two light weapons. That means I don't get one shot kills. And we only killed him twice, not his "wash-rinse-repaet-6 times.Yes, I killed Kehtal twice after the two longest pvp space fights I've had since the CU. He was the second pilot to come up against us while we were on the rebel space station. After the first rebel showed, I was checking for players everytime Iswitched targets, along with my three wingmates. Khetal fails to mention that he did manage to shoot my lady down in her jedi starfighter twice before I could turn his awing to slag. Against a total of 4 imperial aces at once with top of the line equipment, he killed one of these "super" ships twice before being killed. When he started sending me tells, I told him to get a better engine (maybe a 97spd 75ypr engine) and bring friends. You never see real pilots fly without wingmen. Last night was the reason why. We defeated him thru combined fire and vigilance. If I see one player come after my lady, I'm gonna be ready for the next. I have no problem with the jedi starfighter because I used to fly an A-wing on Eclipse. It was very hard for any imperial player to lock me up long enough to burn me. Now, the imps can do the same thing too. People might have a problem with needing to own ROTW to get these fighters freely, but that is a marketing strategy by SOE. Their game means their rules. Find a new way to succeed (as in adapt).
Just had to point out the bit in green above. Im a VERY good pilot and I go everywhere without a wingman as I am secure in the knowledge my skills are up to the task of taking on any enemy in any enemy ship whilst I am in any ship, unless of course my enemy flies a JSF, of course! Besides which everyone wants ME to be THEIR wingman. "cuch can you help me do this?" "cuch is this a good component?" "cuch can you come with me and solo my mission on corv/30 kessel imps/anything while i watch?" etc! Not that I mind I love flying almost as much as i love showing of which is why on contact with enemies i always fly over my wingmate at full speed so he can see what an X with foils open looks like at 1500!

Well well well, this thread was doing well until some fool who because he has a shiny toy that ruins PvP for real aces thinks he can tell us, who enjoy playing a balanced game, what to do!

This is exactly what ruined the ground game. Every time some noob got killed in PvP they cried NERF. Nobody even launches into space as it is. I just cancelled my second account yesterday for this very reason. I'm sure you've noticed that there are like 10% of us left. Wanna know why? This is why.

No more NERFS. <-- period

What the hell is this person Ooola on and what is their problem?
He is on a JSF, I've heard withdraw on those can be nasty.

Mmhmm. Anyway, I'd rather not see anything nerfed either, rather, ships having their stats upped to be able to compete with the RotW ships.

Urgently needs to be nerfed. Why? Because it is insanely unbalanced.
It has more mass than an A-Wing, has a much smaller profile than an A-wing, turns faster than any other ship i know, and also accellerates faster than any other ship i know. Tonight in deep space I came across an enemy pilot in the new FOTM ship, and we went at it. The fight was over relatively quickly, the entire time I was turning as hard as my A-Wing could go, but to no use, he stayed just off of my screen but was able to turn so fast that he could shoot me and continue flying in circles semi-infront of me.
Rinse-Repeat 6 times, same story.
This is rediculous, and needs to be balanced as soon as possible.

All BS aside. Which way to you think is the right way to do it? If money and manpower wasn't an issue. If you could wave a magic wand.
If you really want to know I would do it like this -
Heavy starters - YPR stays as it is - mass reduced to 35k at the max.
I agree to this. No reason in the world a started ship should be this powerful ... its just not right at all that a starter ship should have better stats than a ship gained at tier 4.
JSF/Greivous - YPR reduced to Advanced/Interceptor level - mass reduced to 50k
Agree. But mass should be a bit higher, 60-70K.
I said 50k as thats the same as the advanced - it certainly could not be over 60k as that gives it more mass and more YPR than the Awing with a smaller hit box and more gun ports! (oh and remember for PvP where these ships are really unbalanced 2 mid range blasters are better than one advanced blaster due to the heavy damage in PvP)
ARC 170 slight reduction in YPR to below Xwing (normal) level but above Ywing.
I disagree here. The one weapon mount for the pilot is reason enough to keep the pyr where it is. Have you used turrets before? Theyre hardlyan advantage in pvp except to distract the pilot tailing them. Besides, pyr in the ARC iscountereffective to using the turrets. Max speed is the issue with this one but not an issue to be overly concerned with.
Yes I fly my Ywing all the time with a gunner and have flown my ARC with 2 gunners that have learnt to gun with me in my Ywing. 1 Gun is enough for the pilot - the turrets are for more manouverable enemies - therefore you knock YPR down just like the Y wing or Aggressor
Heavy Xwing - reduction in mass to 150K YPR the same (or swop Heavy Xwing and advanced Xing YPRs around) and 2 torp tubes - possible 3 (like the Opp).
I agree here too. I never saw the point of simply adding mass to the same ship when in all actuality, the xwing is fine how it is. Mass added only to add missile tubes, but the pyr needs to come down on it as well if mass is increased.
Definately need a second tube in ALL Xs - they are meant to have them - Though here i would suggest a third like the Opp though to be honest i think that would make it more/too [powerful and would be more than happy with the star wars canon 2 tubes. In fact here - you should have the opportunity to mount FOUR guns and TWO missile launchers - just like Xwings are meant to have. Unlike the standard X this has the mass for it.
Royal Guard Interceptor - stays the same!
Xwing - approx 10-15k more mass and the second torp tube its meant to have!
I have no problems with a 101K mass xwing. 9000 damage per shot, L8 engine, L8 shields at 2555/2555 16.0, lite armor (under 5K in armor mass), 1100+ cap before OL, 14.0 speed DI, 28 top speed booster ... only thing changing for 10-15K more mass is a swap of the rendilis (weapon 1 and 2) for borstels.
Your right here mass is fine, forget what i said - but the second tube is a necessity, for good roleplaying, combat and the simply fact the bloody ship in game has 2 tubes on its graphic but when you land one mysteriously disappears at ship management time.
In pvp none of that matters. But for PvE, 10-15K more mass is very deadly.
