I think a lot of the crazy AI is just the result of lag. Trying to get a fix on that.

I've gotta run, but I'll take a closer look at those numbers tonight, Vegitaa.

The problem with that is that the heavy novice ships completely makes pretty much all ofthe current models of ships obsolete. If they are going to add heavy version of ships, they should also give them certain drawbacks to ensure that these ships aren't the be-all-end-all ships that they will become in their current form. After all, why would a Newbie even bother to get a new ship, when he already has a nifty heavy Z-95 that outperforms the X-wing, A-wing and the Y-wing?

No, the heavies must have worse performance, in whatever wayfits best, than their low mass versions.

Then shipwrights must be granted the UBERness that the other new ships have. The heavies are hands-down great for dog-fighting, but not tho other roles. The B-wing, Nova, and even the Y longprobe all have rolls that no Z95 can replace. The LP has nearly double the mass and centered guns. The nova, with some T.L.C. can be a great tank. The Bwing is unmatched in anti-capital ship power. The A-Wing still has the mini profile.

The reason I support the heavy novies is that they are the only way we can compete with the uber quest rewards which should be craftable, not nerfed. These heavy novies can't last too long as they only have 1700 plus or minus hitpoints. They are bound to decay out quickly for noobs who blow up a lot. I have no problem with argueing as devil's advocate.

Actually, I think shipwrights should be granted the UBERness of crafting the new ships, but whatever...

True, the heavy Z95 can't replace the Y-wing or B-wing for bombing, but the heavy X-wing can, and the problem remains. No, let the "heavy" ships be just that, heavy(thus slower/less maneuverable) versions of the old ships. That's the only sane thing to in reality, what's the point of letting shipwrights build ships that completely outdates their old ships just to let them compete with looted, completely out of place, ships?

I'll pose two arguments against that:

1.) Heavy novie's acutally eliminate ALOT of your buisness. Espeically Imperial buisness. Have you taken a closer took at the lineup?

Novice: "T/f heavy novy" 95K mass, more manuverable then ANY tie in existance.
Teir 1: T/F 20K mass
Tier 2: T/ln 40K mass
Teir 3: T/I 50K mass
teir 4: T/A 65K mass

The imperial heavy becomes the "all you need" ship all the way to master. How many resources does it take to make one? Dont remember but its not much. Even at 5CPU you wont make much money out of it.

2.) The YPR is high on novice ships, i beleive to help out newbies. Seriously, i think they boosted to YPR as an practical buff to the starters to be able to stay compeditive with teir 1 mobs, as the components utterly suck, and you have no overloads. Can you imagine a startership with half the YPR they currently do as a novice pilot? It would utterly suck. I dont think the orignal design specs for these ships included the idea of an L8 engine with EO4. High mass and high YPR shouldnt be together in the same sentence - ever.

How can it NOT be? It's twice the ship of a tie advanced for a fraction of the manufuacturing costs, and has a smaller profile.

Do you know what chassis stats are?The JSF is twice as maneuverable as a Tie Interceptor. And it is smaller on top of the second gun.

These new ships turn on a dime, they have literally no inertia. No Tie Interceptor/Advanced and A-Wing can even come near that.
This ship has the mass and firepower of a superiority fighter and a maneuverability that surpasses all interceptor type ships.

If you do not see there difference which is both evident in theory and in practise then you are not paying attention. I'm kinda getting tired of pointing this out all the time against unproven claims.

Jedi StarFighter is intense! Been flying mine for 2 days now and using all the gear that I scuttled out of my old TIE Intercepter. Now, JSF has 30k more mass so you can imagine I have 2 bigger guns on it, one at 3071 max dam the other at 3870 max dam. Everything is re'ed as far as it goes.

Now a couple of things here. On ahazi Deep Space has been empty since ROTW launch so I haven't been able to test this bad boy out in PvP yet. Yes, this gives the Empire the advantage over the AWing for sure. Although, I will say something needed to come along to show up the awing.

Good things... well it's tradable and anyone tier 4 can fly it. So it's not "technically" an Imp only ship. I really like the sfoils, and all in all it's one sturdy little intercepter.

Now I realize that it's a bit off balance but honestly until I test against Ritha (Rebel ace, flies an awing and is very good) I'm not willing to say how far out of balance it is. If I own him easily.. it's wayyyyy out of balance! If it's a good fight then i say eave it alone.

Good thing.... It's a one time only deed. So, once these all decay away there will be less of them floating around out there. At least the FireSpray can be replenished with new schematics.

Well, since there is no decay in deep space, I think we know where these ships will be used...

So the Heavy TIE/In is better than the Royal Guard Interceptor?

So much for that final balance pass to make the red TIE a "special" ship.

I believe the Royal Guard TIE is still "special" especially since like the other reward ships it's a one time deal. The increased mass makes for a formidable fighter (once they fix the bugs). Yeah, the Hvy TIE/IN has better stats which I kind of like, It would be nice to see more classic looking TIE's in Deep Space for once. Also the new Hvy versions are craftable so they're much easier to get than the Red TIE, JSF, ARC, or Grievous.

Personally, I'll have my "prestige" ships like the FireSpray, RG TIE, JSF, and Greivous but for my daily driver I'll stick with the new Hvy TIE, Oppressor, and the Bomber (my mining ship till they fix the Y8)

Actually, only been to deep space in mine twice, and that was just to fix a buggey capacitor. I use my JSF currently as my content killer. But I understand the issues. Personally, I have never before nor will I now support any form of NERF on anything. When people were screaming to NERF AWings I fought against that, as I will not support this.

Thing is, the people who fight the most in deep space, will all have these ships. Be it the Hvy versions or the reward ships. Anyone who is serious about space PvP already goes out to get the best components, ships, etc... whats the difference? I'll be getting my hands on the Hvy TIE/IN tonight to see how it fares against the JSF.

Well, at least it's not Jedi only....
