Great guide. Worked like a charm for me this afternoon. All except for the part where I couldn't get bomber strike to fire. I got pretty beat up when I made my first pass but I managed it in the end. It just takes a little patience. If you think you can just dive in with guns blazing you'll be in for a surprise.

I have been meaning to make sure this was in the FAQ, actually.

Bomberstrike?! You don't need no stinking bomberstrike!

Great guide

I don't want to see any more of those gunboats dancing with each other at the exit WP =P

May take a couple tries to find the Imp Gunboat's blind spot.

But, even if you die its a learning experience and you won't make the same mistake again. They're alot less tough when they stay in formation and aren't constantly turning.

Let me add my thanks for this guide! Did my Corvette mission yesterday, and it went down just as written here. Given that I was having a hard time finding a crew to take on the 'vette with me, having a good strategy to take it down myself was a necessity. Nice job!

Mission accomplished just solo'd rebel vette, although i got slaughtered twice along the way.

It all went to plan (took out turret 5 to start with since im privateer) then killed the fighters about 1-2k away from the vette.

I decided i had to take out the gunboats since they were literally connected to the back of the vette, anyway i got the first no prob but when i was finishing off the 2nd (was disabled) the vette piroet'd and i was massacred .

Repaired and returned to take out main shield then got piroet-pwnd again, now i though i was SOL since it was 6k away from the exit spot but when i returned the vette was stationary onthe exit spot and not going anywhere fast, i figure he was waiting for his escort lol. Im not sure if that 2nd gunship was dead or not and that could be the reason, anyway he was a sitting duck and the rest is history.

its actually slightly easier to disable the vette and let the gunboats go by then take them out after you are done.
