Thread: Why doesn't space-PvP have damage mitigation?
I'm not even going to post anything constructive in this thread..how many times have we had this subject now? /Yawn.
Basically...I'm bored.

Ditto. I think my new diversion will be my new guild. Teaching/helping/training about space and might be the next guild SW.. in addtion to farming slicing comps in space might be my new fulltime pursuits.
Everything else.. im just losing my enthusiasm for.

Keep your anti-jedi sentiment where it belongs, in your withered little hateful heart. Them being a jedi and you being a bounty hunter has nothing to do with the issue. You must feel big and cool bashing on him being a jedi because you're a big bad BH but it has NO place at all in a discussion about space PVP. So go crawl back under a rock in the BH forums if you want to moan about jedi some more, it has no place here. And just in case your deluded little mind needs a refresher, even those who 'exploited' the respec system for jedi (and jedi were not the ONLY ones who exploited it, many a crafter/ranger turned MBH arose from the respec system) had to "work" as hard or harder than any ohter profession to do it. And I won't even presume to know how hard you 'worked' at getting your professions, since that would make me more like you.

I say again, if you are caught off guard while overt, you deserve to be blown to bits. I don't care what you are doing, you should be spamming the Z key every few moments. If there are no players in range, you don't lose your target. If there are, you don't need to be shooting at it anymore. NPCs are infinitely less lethal. If you're caught off guard, that's your problem, not a flaw with the game.

Etc.

Why yes, I am, I unlocked april 26th 2004. Back when we had a cool creation system, skill loss (I was on break during permadeath time frame) saber tef and all the goodies. You didn't work for BH skill mods yet you lay claim to them as if you earned them even after admitting respeccing to them, and commando appears to be a respec as well, so your "base buster" is not something you earned, it's something you respecced to, but you "have reasons for hating jedi" Well I have reasons to hate respec'ers who took base killing profs. So we can call it even. As far as not hunting Jedi, big deal, your open disdain for someone you never met shows me enough of your character. Seriously, for someone who has had "everything handed to him" on the ground you sure seem to have some saber envy.

The real reason is because of all the u33er master pilots that think they know how to fly, will not be able to sneek up on someone and 1,2 shot kill them. These are the same players that calim they mastered xwing vrs tie, and all the other Star Wars flight sims....never saw the 1, or 2 shot kill in those games. Oh well I guess I will stay pve, where there is a challenge.
That coudln't be farthest from the truth.. the people who are really into pvp are in it for the fight and adrenaline rush. not so we can go "sneek up on someone and 1, 2 shot" them.
Also there were 1 and 2 shots in XvT. Lets see... The Tie Fighter(TF) was the easiest one to one shot. Hit the ball cockpit and bam, back to the respawn they go. Tie Interceptor(TI) was both. Sometimes one shot, sometimes 2. Did you even play that game? Z95, 2 shotted a lot, sometimes 3. Xwing was 3 shots... Awing was 2-3 shots. Tie Advanced 2-3 shots. I played that game a lot. Though I dind't "master" it, I felt I was a pretty decent/good pilot. Not the best, but I never claimed to be the best. Thereare pilots that I know that could wipe the floor with me with out even blinking. One of the first games I ever did in XvT I watched a guildie rack up 70+ kills against who he called decent pilots. Some people are just better flyers then others. Wish people could get that through their head when they've been "1-shotted."

Come on man, i thought you were more informed then that.
For those of you who just don't get it, heres the deal post ROTW.
-You have high manuverablity ships with 80-90K mass.
-They go super fast, and are really small, therefore hard to hit.
-Because of the out of porportion mass to manuverablity people are strapping in lvl 8 shields and engines.
-80 to 90% of the time, a single L7 or L8 gun will not inflict enough damage to effect a ships subsystems.
- Beause of the high speeds and small profile, hitting your target has a high probably of taking awhile.
- Score a single hit, and its immediatly shunted.
Rinse and repeat for 10,15, maybe even 20 mins until someone gives up, makes a mistake, gets lucky and gets a max damage hit in, or you wear the guy down enough to where you can score a good solid hit. Honestly in Deepspace i have taken to aiming at engines specfiically, just to slow the guy down and make him less manuverable so i can get a better shot in. If i dont, the hit is wasted, hes back to 100% and the dance goes on forever.
I think last sunday i had three, 15 min dogfights, almost back to back.
My arm was sore, and it got boring after the first 5 mins of the first dogfight.
If you want to add reduced damage on top of that, no one will ever die.
That's the real deal, accept it or not, your choice.

Tell me though. You have an alt since you're a jedi. Did you repsec your alt to what you wanted him to be?
My jedi was the unlocked alt, I started with a jedi initiate skill box and no ohter skills and the inability to gain any others, my "alt" is my main character which ended as a BE/TKA (BE being my 31's profession to unlock) and was later re-done into several other professions, I've personally done every profession at least once except for politician, you din't earn your current template any more than the jedi you hate who respecced into theirs. You were given it by soe, same as many many others. You hate jedi for some deep rooted personal reason, that is called saber envy, Jedi didn't ruin this game any more than you personally have. If you don't like what the game has become that is your problem and not anyone elses "fault" stop tossing blame around and quit if you don't like where the game is.

You're kidding, right? There are very, very few things in PvE that can legitimately be called a "challenge".

And THAT is coming from the 'PvE Correspondant'!
