I just had an idea - get a jedi starfighter - there you have a jedi ship better than most (all in a good sticks hands) - now go prove how uber you are against all the master pilots on your server!
You forget--He wouldn't be special (EDIT: OR more Godlike than anyone else), seeing as everyone and their mother is flying a JSF.Message Edited by BuzzBot on 07-21-2005 08:20 PM
Nonono! You dont understand, I am being subtle and sneaky here!He will get owned by another JSF/BSF and cry nerf forgetting he is in one and the devs will put in the next publish -
JEDI.
Clone relics ships have now been balanced with the original JTL ships.
PLUS, he will die a LOT. 2 birds + 1 stone. Need I say more!
Then he'd just find something else to complain about, cry nerf and so on and so forth...
Here, I'll try to phrase politely why we hate your suggestion.
1. This is an old topic, with many angry threads. Had you bothered searching, you would have seen how much pilots hate the idea of jedi having anything whatsoever to do with space. Since you didn't search and brought up a topic we've talked over many times in the past, it makes us angry.
2. If we don't reply and reply angrily in force, over and over again in mindless threads like this one, someone might actually implement something like this.
3. The very tone of your post, and title, "Jedi Pilots Deserve to use force powers IMO."

Hi all, I am new to the pilot profession and am wanting to build my skills, but I find it frustrating that I can't use my jedi skills in space. I have come to depend on these skills on the ground and have worked very hard to EARN them, so the likely transition of using those said skills in space seems only fair. Stuff like force heal, AI would be a great advantage and something that would be a well deserved ability for the work I have already put into my skills.
You don't deserve squat in space, you earn every inch of it. Flying isn't something you master in a week. You might get an Ace badge in a week, but you will spend the next several months learning the ropes and cobbling together parts.
You say that you are new to space, so welcome. But don't come in here thinking you've earned anything special just for being a jedi. If anything, now you need to prove that you can play a game as an equal, instead of an alpha class like you did on the ground.
There is no (quoting you) "great advantage" for any character in space. When you go up against me or another pilot, you fly as equals, and actual player skill will determine the winner. You can take any ship, any loadout, any combination of RE'd parts - but you still play on a level field.
You have a lot of nerve to use words like "earn," "fair," and "deserve." You have no idea what you're talking about. You have been catered to on the ground, don't expect the same treatment in space. And don't walk into a forum full of veterans who care about this aspect of the game and expect instant respect for being a jedi.
Your post is arrogant and assuming.
When you've been here a while, read some FAQs, participate in actual discussion, and spent some time in Deep Space, then we might, might listen to you.
But no. No way jedi skills should have anything to do with JTL. No freakin' way your skills should have anything to do with space. Ever.
And if they ever are implemented I will cancel my account that day. I hate the idea that much, and I fly several hours a day.

You read the REST of our posts, didn't you? I think we should stop flaming and let him roast!

- Force Heal - You can heal yourself while floating in the vacuum of space.
- Avoid Incap - so you won't die while floating around in the vacuum of space after we blow you ship out from around you.
- Saber Throw - Open the window and toss your saber at me. The range is what? 64m?Then you get sucked out into the vacuum of space by explosive decompression becasue you opened the window.
- Force Lightning - again with the opening of windows on starfighters.

y' don't click the mouse over the target and shoot a bolt or slash them with your sword, do you? Space IS that way, making it twitch combat, my fiend, which the ground game is not. Sure, you need to be awake and be able to read and press buttons and click stuff, but it's NOT twitch!
None of those force powers you list would even apply to a ship, so NO!
Go troll the Jedi forum and leave this one alone.

You couldn't pay me to keep an eye on that cespool. I value my brain cells much too highly for that.
