Thread: Jedi Pilots Deserve to use force powers IMO...
Go back to the ground game, Jedi. "We don't serve your kind here."

Welcome to the Pilot forum, Manna.
One thing to keep in mind when browsing through this forum is the separation between the ground game and the space game. While the links between these two games have been increasing and the complimentary aspects of both are widely viewed as refreshing, you should take a look at things and come to the realization that JTL and SWG are, in fact, two separate entities.
On an obvious level, the fluidity and pacing of each game should show themselves. Success in the mechanics of the ground game revolve around idea of 'the person with the greatest equipment, highest statistics, and smartestshort term strategywill win.' There are restrictions on how fast you can react, and severe restrictions on how you can move.
The space game plays differently. The emphasis here is on trained action/reaction and interacting with a more fluid and dynamic environment where things like spacial awareness and timing mean far more than they can and will in the ground game.
Your reward for achieving greatness in the ground game are virtual riches, incredible equipment, and better playerstats than anyone else. Congratulations on your achievements in that game. I sincerely hope you enjoy your rewards.
However, when you come into space, please realize that you are playing a different game. A game designer should rightfully see no reason to reward a person who has the proven capability to single-handedly commit genocide on rats, lizards, and pigs an automatic advantage in an entirely different environment.
If you truly desire to be able to use force powers in space, I would suggest... err... suggesting something along the lines of a 'Force Sensitive Pilot' profession (or mini-profession) that takes your skill in space, as opposed to your skill on the ground, to attain. Personally, I wouldn't support that, myself, but it has a slightly better chance of a warm reception, here.
Space is a different game, pilots are a different breed, this forum is a different culture.
Welcome to the Pilot forum, Manna. The culture shock will wear off in a couple days.

Want canon that Jedi don't necessarily make superior pilots? Read I, Jedi. Corran Horn talks about going up against Tycho Celchu and almost loses, even with the Force. At *best* the Jedi pilot can manage a draw...and that's because Corran had massive starfighter experience before becoming a Jedi.
No Jedi powers in space.
None.
Great book, well said!
I dont remember any jedi being whiny little children in the films or books, even the Sith.
Plus if you want to go canon on us all - the jedi are all DEAD, except a couple you d*ckhead!
Oh yes, and not ALL the whiney little children are Jedi! *points at self and looks proud*

It has "a slightly better chance of a warm reception" in the same way that a snowball has "a slightly longer lifespan" if you opt not to put it inside an oven when you send it to Hell. Sure, you probably wouldn't get quite as much of a negative reaction, but to believe for a moment that it would be a positive reaction is delusional at best. There is absolutely no need or justification for anyone to have an advantage in space. If it's too tough for you, practice more and get friends to help you.

You forget--He wouldn't be special (EDIT: OR more Godlike than anyone else), seeing as everyone and their mother is flying a JSF.

Nonono! You dont understand, I am being subtle and sneaky here!
He will get owned by another JSF/BSF and cry nerf forgetting he is in one and the devs will put in the next publish -
JEDI.
Clone relics ships have now been balanced with the original JTL ships.
PLUS, he will die a LOT. 2 birds + 1 stone. Need I say more!
heh look at how much having force skills helped kit fisto in ep 3......he got taken down by 2 clone fighters, and he knew he was ![]()
and seriously, what exactly would you expect? A literal win button? They cant code the game to make you have Jedi-like reflexes or speed. You'd have to be a jedi, yourself, in real life, to get any good out of itfor flying.

Hang on, are you saying my preternatural reactions and skills in JTL are evidence of my latent jediness in real life - WOOHOO! Yup, im that good in space. And im being modest.
