I like the pay by prestige method, myself. Gives us a reason to stay active in space, though that kinda nails the faction hoppers going for squadron badges.

OOO!! Yeah, Player Starports for cities at the Metropolis level, and there should be a tier above that (Stronghold??) that would enable you to have a space station with the reasoning that the ground city would not be able to expand more or something like that...

Although, there would have to be rules, like only having 4 player-city-stations per zone (including DS/Kessel or no?), not being within an 8km or so radius of the NPC landing stations, or like someone else (forget your name, sorry ) suggested, having them at the very edges of the zones. Better yet, have their entrace just inside the zone, while you can see the rest of the station, but it is outside the flyable space zone. You'd dock and a loading screen would come up and VIOLA, you'd be in a station that took up almost no room in the zone! The only bad thing about that would you not being able to fly around/interact with the othe parts of the station w/o being inside.

I think these should be associated with the same planet that the player city is on. DS and Kessel are sort of sacred, anyway.

Besides, imagine the griefers hanging around at the load point.

Good points. Though, I would like to live infront of a Black Hole, who wouldn't?

OK, let's take then number (cap number, not actual number)of player cities on the planet allowed, and cut it in quarter. It's 40 for Dant, Talus, Rori, right? So 10 for each of those zones. It's 20 for the starter planets, correct? So, that's 4/starter space. Not sure I got the numbers correct, but how do you guys like that idea?

Here I got an Idea, They did this in EQ2 Make it a personal toon Zone for your Station House. If you played EQ2 you know what I mean if not here you go, It's a station of Coloney that everyone can live in for a cost. When you toon enters the station and goes to there room, that only they can enter or invite someone into. it hold as many items as a guild hall and has the same cost, Link the windows to look out of to the same area that way you got the same effect as Multiplayership looking out windows into space. and put these station in the main space areas.

Easy. Don't know what all the fuss is about then there won't be this space station hell and we all can live in space.

Nercoed I see, so be it, i was itching to nerco it myself. yea for what that is it should work too, so its a decent idea, and they could just have a eq2 dev fidle with swg until he or she got it right (oh lord the bugs that would cause)

how about instead of seperate houses in space(noone would have their own station) how about guild space stations, make them like cities except the members of the guild add modules. instead of a city hall as the core building you would have a "Docking and Operations" center as the hub. player stations would not be attackable, however you could allow boarding parties for planned pvp events. say a rebel team defending their station from imp pilots.

Somebody already mentioned guild space stations, but I like you modding idea

However, what about those of us that enjoy the free life? Sans guild.

I like most of these ideas so far, wish I had more to add at present, but just don't, sorry

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Give us space stations, but make the maintenance paid in prestige--on the order of millions of prestige per week. This would both a.) give us something to do with prestige and b.) limit space stations to those who are serious pilots.

Hmm, now that's something to puzzle over if we're still dwelling on the guild stations idea. If you're looking at my/Shogan's idea of faction-specific stations, you've got a space-housing option. BUT, it's one station per Freelance Squadron, so if you wanted to keep your house while switcing squadrons, you're screwed.I s'pose you could put all three squadrons in one station.

personaly i belive having a space station would be awsome! it wouldnt be as clogging as you think because you would have to find a place to put it where pirates arnt going to destroy it. It would be awsome because it could be like a one stop to unloading astroid resources, speed up effeciency a whole bunch.

you know thoes turrets on the avatar platform? I would love to be able to place a few of thoe while im mining, that way i dont occasionaly have to wip around and start shooting tier 3's
