Here's my setup:

Ordinance: Spacebomb MKII Launcher 6.3K mass
Capacitor: RE'd Level 2 1K Mass 40.2 Recharge 1027 Energy
Droid Interface: Level 1 500 Mass 14.1 Speed
Engine: RE'd Pre-nerf Level 6 Incom Military Grade 95.9 Speed Y/P/R 69/72/68 9.5K mass
Countermeasures: Chaff Launcher 1K Mass
Gun #1: RE'd Incom Tricannon 2400-3800 damage (approx) 23K mass
Gun #2: RE'd Sienar Boltdriver 2000-3000 damage (approx) 14K mass
Booster: Level 4 RE'd Reward Booster 2100 energy 150 consumption 36 Accel 29 Speed 3K Mass
Max Speed with EO3: 1184
Max Speed with EO3 and Boost: 1437
I'll be putting in another Level 8 Reward Gun when I get it RE'd to the appropriate mass. Right now, I've got two MKII Armor with about 450 armor points each at 1800 mass. But I don't really see a point to them and the Level 8 gun will be more useful, anyway.Message Edited by Coran_Sienar on 05-16-2005 11:22 AM
There's some very nice stuff there i have to say, especially the mass on that shield.
Mine got done to 29kish mass, but that is definitely some nice stuff. But as i took a long break from JTL i've not had the chance to build up so a nice load out, mine goes like this.
Reactor: RE'd Level 2 2600 mass 13k output
Engine: RE'd Level 6 reward engine, 95 speed 68 ypr, 8.5k mass
Shield: RE'd Reward Shield Level 8 29K Mass 2555/2555 hitpoints front/back 15.75 Recharge
Capacitor: Re'd level 6 1155 max, 46 recharge 8k mass (need to find a lighter one)
Droid interface: RE'd level 1 500 mass, 14 speed
Weapon 1: RE'd level 8 (made with 2 reward guns) 2500-3800 25k mass
Weapon 2: Re'd Level 6 1800-2500 9k mass
So like i said, i'm really tight for mass, and have some heavy post nerf components. If i'd of kept going at the begining of JTL i may have got a nice collecting of them, but still, its not a bad little ship.
Hate to nitpick but with only 2 guns and Cap Overload 3 you should stick a RE L2 capacitor in there. There's 6k extra mass right there.*goes back to lurking Master Shipwright mode*
As i say i've had a hard time finding a decent one to put in, best i've found lately is 30 recharge 800 mass. :/

Why, well for 1 they dont want every ship in DS to be a JSF and nothing else, and secondly they actually want to pit their pilot skills against other pilots, not their loot uberishness against NPCs (as no reb will ever go in DS without a full squadron or a JSF now).
The biggest problem the Rebel side of the house has, is they have no ship like the oppessor.
What we have here, is a sort of an arms race that has developed by SOE's poor design decisions.
Orginally the A wing was a real PITA. That is until smart Imperial pilots everywhere realized what the REAL use of an oppessor is. So the A wing was most definatly kept in check by what is tantamount to certain death. Three MK Image-Rec missles. Nobody survives that, and the chances of chaffing off a salvo in a close turning fight is next to none.
The unique ablity of the Oppessor is what ultimatly gave the Empire the upper hand. It trumps the Awing. No ship, anywhere has the ability of that kind of "shut down" power packed into a realitvly small, and more manuverable than you'd thing chassis.
This is an ablity the rebels lack. Sure you could throw out a Y wing, or a B wing, but these things are certain deathtraps. High profile, lower YPR than an oppressor, and only 2 missles as opposed to the oppressors 3. (Not that 2 couldnt do the job) But, they're not quite the same, nor are they anywhere as effective as the oppessor.
How now, the situation is reversed, only the Empire still holds the advantage. Now the JSF has picked up the title that the A wing lost long ago. Only this time, the opposing side has nothing like the oppessor to counter it.
EDIT:
The JSF and the other new ships should have their YPR tuned down to stay in scale with the rest of the game, however other imbalances have, and will continue to exist even if/when sony does tune these new ships down. I really wish they had thought this out more. An inclusion of a 2nd missle mount in the heavy Xwing would do alot to restore the balance of power.

Well i dont want to be egotistical but im a very good pilot, without the JSFs I would have expected to get 20+ kills with 3-5 deaths easy in that kind of furball!
The main problem is that battles like that happen once a year and the rest of the time its mostly 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 engagements which means now there is no point in me going into DS in an Awing as the JSF flys rings around it. IT is totally unbalanced, I went up against a pilot I normally get a 1:1 kill ratio with. He got me 100% of the time!
Yes you are right I do have access to the Z95 heavy, but I dont want it.
Call me strange but I want BALANCED ships that are a part of STAR WARS in this STAR WARS game.
Could be right about PvPing outside DS, but if you challenge any imps the response will be either:
1. No
or
2. Wait til i get my JSF

Listen, this is really very simple. You can argue that the Awing or the Opp or any other ship is the better ship....blah blah blah blah. The best indication that there is a balance issue is that the Imp forces in most glaaxies are now 90% or more JSF. LOL
Go ahead, whine about how its fair now, and about how therebs won anyway....those are all completely BS arguments. Maybe the imp pilots sucked? Who knows? IT DOESNT MATTER. If 90% of the players are using the same ship, there is a problem.
Period.
No no....dont try to argue anymore...you will just end up saying something not-brilliant...... like, "Just change faction for a day and get one for yourself". LOL. Great job on the logic there....thanks for proving my point. While you are at it, go ahead and petition the devs to put us all back in composite armor again....since you obviously like a world where there is one "best" of everything. Wow...I remember how fun it was to have every single player in the same armor. That rocked. LOL
There should be no one "best" of anything. You can moan about how this stat or that stat on another ship is better....blah blah blah. Doesnt matter...only one thing matters : 90% of the imp players are grabbing this ship if they can. If they dont have it now, its only a matter of time. I fly in three different galaxies, as an Imp in two, and a Reb in one. All of them are the same now....everyone is going for the JSF.
There is a problem. If you dont see it, then I cant help you. LOL.
ummm your argument is off by one point... it is a new ship... this game has always had people grabbing the newest thing when it comes out... so no big surprise 90% of the imps are in it... its new, they want to try it out
So what you're saying is that A-Wings were the top dog, but then imperials learned a way to fight them and overcome? Huh, interesting.

Point conceded. That is a factor. However, after flying one myself, I have to say that I think the majority of the imperial pilots will gravitate towards this. I know that it is very tempting for me. We shall see.

Nice try at word bending. But It has little to do with adaptation and learning, so much as it was a case of "Captain obvious to the rescue!" IE, loading up the oppressor with three MK II Image -rec.
Read the rest of my previous post you selectivly omited.
If i had a $1 for everytime a rebel whines about a jedi ship after he gets his backside handed to him on a plate.
Please get over it, and pratice more

Never really understood 3 guns and 2 missiles for the Xwing - thought it should be 4 guns and 2 torps, same with other ships! And now ships like the Awing and Interceptor have been made more unlike their originals with the introduction of the new ships.
Except the X-wing only has one missle mount.

Yep, I have the same problem because in Ep IV: ANH Luke *obviously* fires two torpedoes from twin launchers. I made 3 X-Wings for a pilot and refunded his credits all three times when he returned them because they didn't have two missle launchers. Once I stumbled into this forum I found out that was by design.
