No, the OP wasn't looking for advice. Go back and read the beginning of the thread. He came on here asking for the RotW ships to be buffed up even further than what they already are. He didn't ask for any help on a loadout until after it was explained to him, in painful terms, that he was an idiot who didn't know enough about space to make such comments.

I'm just waiting for a new round of "I'm a Jedi, I should get to use my powers in space!"

Scr4tch and I allready pointed him he was wrong. Now keep reading... yup, you see? he agrees, so there is no need for the whole pilot community to came here and say the same speech over and over again... lets try to keep a positive ambient on the forums. In the end, the more people happy with the space game the better for us

And yes, we need another "poor" poster asking for jedi powers in space to release our anger there ^^

With all due respect, I try and keep positive but Janu is perfectly right. Think back to when you started playing JTLS people? Mostly before rotw yes? It wasn't too hard then, now it is -ridiculously- easy. Making it any easier removes the point of even having a game or challenge.

Halyn is right, the original poster didn't come here lookingfor help. They came here with a complaint and an unresearched, totally unjust -wrong- one at that.

Not even that, but I just feel alittle insulted because regardles sof the dumb OP, I did to be fair post a sugegstion on how ot make that JSF work to an 'ok' level but it has been obviously ignored.

Hell no, space is too damned easy as it is.

touche! lol i must admit though the T/A has given me a few headaches over the last 3 days trying to balance it correctly. the A wing was easy due to just 1 gun but with the TA having 2 it really threw me a loop for a bit. Even now after 2 solid nights of working at it i havent got it perfect. Still need to re a better shield and engine.

Little secret that might help: Don't feel you have to use two slots because you have them.

And if you do feel the urge, don't sweat going with two lighter guns. You'll make up more damage on the average of two lesser hits to the one cannon shot.

True.

I would have spent more time on it though if it had have been "Hey! the A-wing needs more mass!"

Then I would have been like

"well Jimmy, it sure would be spiffy to have a 90k mass A-wing because 'some' of us around here would be invincible, however making 65k mass of starship work efficiently is easier than you think"...

followed by 20 posts worth of text and detailed diagrams.

Remember guys, A-wings look cooler than JSF.

I am sorry for the treatment you have received with this post, Orim. It is unwarranted. I don't care how often this has been discussed, it was still unwarranted. People calling you stupid...I just don't get that. Don't post at all, if that's the kind of response you're going to give.

This forum did not used to be this way...but it has degenerated in the last few months into what you see in this post.

You're still being self righteous. I read the entire thread personally. I always do. You're not stupid, but in future do some more research before posting please? However, I wouldn't worry too much, everyone makes dumb threads from time to time.

If you can understand though, I initially came over a little hostile partly because personally, I spend so much time doing what I can with lower mass ships. 90k mass to me is a -lot- however I guess I should consider the fact that I've been playing a long time and was in fact rather excuse the term 'noobish' when I started. Hell, I still have a tendency to remark some silly ideas at times. Everyone does from time to time.

If you want any future help concerning anything ingame starship wise, feel free to send me a tell or email me at Starsider.leaph or if you play on starsider, just Leaph of course .

I'm all for getting inexperienced pilots, experienced and am more than willing to share what I know with people. The only downside to me helping anyone is that they'll have to put up with every example I make being somthing to do with A-wings.

Oh, as a sidenote, to the guy who wants to drool over my A-wing..I'm kind of flattered but you should wait until you see my new one. Now I know what will fit in or not, I've decided to have a secondary A-wing project start up were initially I was going to stick a lvl 10 engine in there, however I'm going to hold out and equip this A-wing just like my current one..only keep on hanging on until each stat for everything is as good as possible. (I know r,p,y of 79 on a lvl 8 engine is possible from my old QID even though it was only my pitch which possessed the 79 statistic). This may be a project which takes too long to complete and might not ever be finished since I'm going for 'perfection', but hey..the A-wing I got currently will keep me going for a long time

Welcome to the Pilot profession Orim.

The biggest thing about this profession is mass management, the careful selection of components based on what you need and what you use vs whatis overkill or not needed. A couple people have listed suggestions for load-outs, and these are good places to start from. As you spend more time flying, you'll learn where you can make sacrifices. Putting the biggest, more powerful of everything is not always possible, and many times not desirable. As you fly, maybe you'll determine you can get by with smaller weapons, thus freeing up space for something else. Maybe you don't need armor or boosters at all. Determine what is the best flight style for you.

Think of us pilots as starship enthusiasts, we are constantly tweaking our ships to get them perfect. Also, if you want an extreme crash course in mass management, make an Imperial Pilot alt and do not use any of the reward ships or the Heavy TIE fighter, just use the old fighters.

Please stop flaming and stop pointing out how stupid I am I have difficulties with this. I try my best to keep this thread constructive and maybe learn a few things here and there

Damn, I didn't think that these boards were so hostile. This ain't the GCW forums, folks!

Orim, the single biggest mistake you can make as a beginning pilot is to not understand your loadout. I went well over a year without properly tweaking mine. I was a Tier IV pilot before I started seriously shopping around. I'd just use whatever I had looted (without getting anything RE'd). It was pretty ugly. And I had made it to Tier IV without mooching XP off of anyone's turret. I just grinded and got help for missions I couldn't do. A single shopping trip improved my flying and love for space at least 10 fold.

Anyway, the suggested loadout on page one is a good one. I go for a bit more armor and a bit less weaponry, personally. I should probably experiment with more firepower, maybe.

You're gonna find a lot of antipathy toward the JSF in general. Pre-ROTW pilots usually consider it to be overpowered because it's the smallest ship ingame and one of the most nimble (making it extremely hard to hit) while having more mass than any pre-ROTW fighter (sure, bombers have more, but they have other drawbacks).

At any rate, experiment and have fun
