Thread: More Mass Needed For Certain Ships

Ehh the only ships I'd ever consider giving more mass to are the pre-ROTW ships, to bring them up to par.

90k mass T/A *drool*

What?! More mass in a JSF? What the hell kinda pilot are you? A test pilot in a wheelchair factory? I do better in a A-Wing than a lot of people I see here do in their poon fighters, and I've got 2/3s the mass to work with.

Me thinks I read the inane scrawlings of one who spent too much time in a turret seat with no gun to shoot.

Hey Orim, buddie, best thing you can do is to carefully read the FAQ (its greatly organized and very complete). Learn about the Reverse Engineering specially.

Then, make a search with the "loadout" keyword on this forums.

Then, enjoy searching for parts to upgrade your ships!

I'd strongly recomend you to make the Nym's starmap quest to get a QID engine and a protecto-net shield, the Kashyyyk stationquest to get a nice lvl 7 gun. You can find more nice rewards out there, all of them listed somewhere in the FAQ.

Good Luck!

No, the OP wasn't looking for advice. Go back and read the beginning of the thread. He came on here asking for the RotW ships to be buffed up even further than what they already are. He didn't ask for any help on a loadout until after it was explained to him, in painful terms, that he was an idiot who didn't know enough about space to make such comments.

Five minutes spent perusing this board would have really made the insanity of that post unnecessary. Its bad enough that people are already begging for crafted ships to be brought up to Rage levels of stupid overpower, the idea that some fool, for ANY reason, would need more mass in those ridiculous things is beyond comprehension.

touche! lol i must admit though the T/A has given me a few headaches over the last 3 days trying to balance it correctly. the A wing was easy due to just 1 gun but with the TA having 2 it really threw me a loop for a bit. Even now after 2 solid nights of working at it i havent got it perfect. Still need to re a better shield and engine.

Firmly, no! These ships need their mass lowered, not increased.

Pre-RotW ships followed a sort of theory - smaller ships were faster and agile, larger ships were slower but could pack a bigger punch. There was a balance - if you flew a 60k TIE Advanced (65k?) you had to pick either how you wanted to load it out. A big engine? Big shield? Big guns? 'Cause ya couldn't get all 3!

The new ships you can put everything you want into them, and more! 90k is a LOT of mass, especially when you start REing parts. So now you get everything, great speed, handling, weapons, defense... That's not balanced. Right now there is no reason to fly the older ships, unless you just plain like the ship like I do, or like many aces you consider the new ships to be dishonorable to kill in.

Endgame is PvP right now, same as on the ground. In a PvP match is where you really start to see that these ships are unbalanced. If the older ships are brought up to match the RotW ones, the problem gets worse, plenty of threads on this to read already.

Hi
Wouldn't it be nice if quest based and looted ships are actually usefull.
The Heavy X and JSF have a good mass but the ARC 170 (125K Mass) and Belbullab 22 (90K Mass)
are just pathetic.
IMO these ships should be tweaked (red. give them more mass) so you can equip them properly.
Who else agrees or disagrees with this?

Erm. You must be joking right? If you saw my A-wing you'd freak. I probably have more crammed within that 66k mass than you could manage with 120k mass. The long and short of it is..you're wrong. If anything, the Belb,JSF and Heavy x-wing need a mass REDUCTION. What are you talking about anyway? The JSF and GSF bothhave identical mass...

As I said though, take a look at my A-wing and in fact other people's ships. My advice is to do some research and learn the game before makign ridiculous posts like this.

I wouldn't be so strong with my view on this one, but it is obvious you havn't even tried ingame or looked around yet.

I strongly suggest you read the whole thread (including follow ups/replies) before replying. Thanks.

I strongly suggest everyone drools over Leaph's A-Wing.

Half-true. He stated his very own oppinion, which according to all i know, he still is allowed to have (no, being all evil and insulting everybody around is _not_ the only allowed behaviour here, despite some people acting like that) and that was that the ships had not enough mass.

I might add that before i added crafted and RE'ed parts (means, before some _good_ shipwrights started offering their things on vendor search) to my ships, i had the very same idea. Experimenting around (and finding some shipwrights who didn't use the bazaar / vendor search only to get rid of items where they failed their experimentation) taught me that good ships can be made with limited mass, but i dare to remind you, despite that some people might have forgotten since some time, that not all players in the world are veteran pilots.

To clarify things: Reading all replies it's obvious I was wrong. I already said that I would look into it and try to equip my ship within the mass limits. Please stop flaming and stop pointing out how stupid I am I have difficulties with this. I try my best to keep this thread constructive and maybe learn a few things here and there

And the fact you quoted just the criticising part of my post shows how ignorant you are. I actually gave some advice and you come along all self righteous.
