Thread: Ok then. That was almost too fun for PvE

Well people. I've seen all the footage and am now sorting through it but I think we need more.

I'd like the same peopleas last time along with others too. I'm waiting until Publish 24 is out when I want at least four POBS of YT or Courier class with a maximum of Six fighters.

I will start a post regarding specific details but I've had a brain wave from reviewing this footage and it fits in line with the general story arc I wish to follow.

Expect yourselves to becoming familiar with the antics of the hurriedly and temporarily assembled 'Point Squadron'in the near future...and beyond

Chat channel, as opposed to GroupChat, I assume? GroupChat worked fine for the last run, but had reached it's limit, and we were a bit gimped by not having the camera man included in the group.

Yes. totally. We can use the ASFC chat channel. I need some dedicated volunteers now. POB Captains and crews, my trusty camera man, Stormwraith (who I am still gobsmacked by how efficient you are mate) and as for the fighters, well they can be any Alliance starfighter still. From the footage though I'm loving having two B-wings along. Their weapons are so hypnotic.

8 man groups are a pain since everyone on mission will have to be in my group to take part so we're going to have to be smart on how we accomplish it. I am thinking, in the end we'll need the four/three POB crew captains grouped with us and fill the rets of the spaces with Fighter pilots. The camera man will remain outside the group (so he doesn't get aggroed whilst filming) and we'll all converse on the ASFC chat channel so POB crews don't feel lonesome along with the Camera pilot

Ideally, I think this would be a good setup.

  • 3POB ships of YT or Nova descrip.

  • 2 B-wings and a Y-wing or vise versa

  • 2 x-wings

  • A-wing

Somthing along those lines anyway...

If we want to use TS, the RSPA TeamSpeak server is always an option. It's the one we usually use for the large-scale PvP battles.

I belive a "Everyone" TS Channel is in the works, no?

wow, that'd be cool.

I'm now thinking this.

  • Y-8

  • Nova

  • YT-1300

  • 3 X-wings

  • My A-wing (since in the film resources are limited to our brave Alliance combatants, it makes sense that the Lt. sticks to the same ship)

  • A Y-wing or B-wing would look cool...or maybe another A-wing.

I'm waiting until after Publish 24 to actually shoot this though because I want the POB ships to have their new gear. I want them to be scoring awesome damage and if we're having a Y8, I'd like it to be not bugged in anyway and have it's additional weapon placements.

As a secondary...well decored POB ships would make for good places to hold briefings.

Aye. The "Rebel Alliance" channels visible on the server. Those will be activated as soon as the RSPA rooms have a password change.

How many people can be brought into a POB? It might be better to choose something ground based like the Rebel Base on Rori. I think one of it's rooms includes a tactical display like what is used in the movies. If not, it is possible to build houses very close to it and we might be able to 'borrow' one from someone that has already set up something appropriate. But, I don't think players can get the Tactical boards as a furniture item.

One of the things I noticed during the fighting last time was that there was a short pause between the waves since they were being cleared so quickly. This would allow gun crews to switch places with damage control crews on a POB. It is always much easier to recruit a gunner than a damage control since they don't get to see much action. But, if switch outs were planned, it might be easier to recruit more folks to help out.

Very true. Also, I am wishing to keep the number of snub fighters down because I don't ant to make the footage look like we're completely ganking the Ghrag fighters. I mean...6 fighters going after one NPC ship isn't very cinematic

You might want to do a test of a group that includes the POB captain but not turret gunners going after a mission target belonging to someone in the POB captain's group. 1) you can't enter the turret of a POB unless you are grouped with the captain (so I've been told) and 2) sometimes the turrets are considered independant enough to not follow all of the POB captain's leads in such things as uncdeclared/declared or mission target hit-ableness (yeah, that's not a word, shoot me).

"Join us...it is the only way."

(We could always use some more Imperial pilots on the server. )
